Don't make the mistake I made, thankfully I had $10 on me lol This bakery was decent for pandulce, we came late at night (5PM) for conchas and they only had 2 vanilla and 1 chocolate left. But that's expected from a panadería when coming at night, so that was my bad. The pandulce was okay, the service was great! The girl that helped us was very sweet, I like that this place has wheat pandulce options available too. I have not seen that before. My sister raves about this place and their pan dulce. Must be true when we went two times and they were out, right? Anyhow, we finally had a chance when we got there early enough. We got the assorted flavors (colors) they had available. The taste? I honestly could not differentiate the flavors other than the color of the sugar topping on the buns. I've had better. My dad is always raving about this place and I've even had their mini conchas before, which I have throughly enjoyed. Since I was up early I decided to check them out for myself. The location is very clean. There is someone at the door taking your order and sanitizing between customers. NOW Let me tell you the pan is amazing especially when its freshly baked out of the oven warm, my mouth is salivating just thinking about it. They also have regular coffee or café con canela. I actually didn't discover this place - their pan dulce (i.e. "sweet bread") found its way to my office via one of my work colleagues who surprised us all by bringing us a variety of their offerings on a Friday morning. The pan dulce (conchas, polvorones, cuernos, orejas, galletitas, etc.) were all savory, airy and smelled wonderfully - they were pretty much devoured within twenty minutes after arrival. I am always in the search of a good panaderia and this was truly some of the better fresh baked pan dulce I've had more recently in LA - it was the right touch of sweetness, moistness and crispiness (depending on what type of bread I was eating). Now what made me note the address and drive all the way to La Puenta to get more of this bread for a large family get-together was that they make petite or smaller bite size portion of their sweet breads, which is great for gatherings as sometimes you really don't want to eat a whole concha and then end up eating only half of it and the rest goes to waste or get's stale if it's forgotten. Well thanks to La Corona, my problem was solved and their bread was a hit with the family as well. The panaderia is a local mom and pop shop - hardworking owners giving it all to grow their bakery all while proving friendly customer service. I had tried conchas from other location, but I thought I should find one near my house. Corona Bakery has decent reviews, and one day I went to try their mini conchas, which was indeed delicious. Last night, 1/29/18, I went to picked up some baked goods of piggies, conchas, and some other assortments of goods to bring in to work the next day for my coworkers. You bet they loved it, and these comments of "it was really tasty" or "it was lovely" sure made me thrilled that they liked it as much as me. So, go along. I have to say this is one of the best bakeries in the area. I come from 23 miles away to get some of their delicious bread. They have conchas, galletas and all kinds of other goodies. The customer service is excellent. The only downside is they are CASH ONLY, but that is the price to pay for a small mom and pop shop.
