Came here on a whim and it far exceeded my expectations. It's attached to a car wash and oil lube but it's pretty good and way inexpensive. This cafe is attached to Loop's Car wash. I usually get my oil changed here because you get a free car wash with the oil change, its a win win! I had lunch at Moderns the other day and I have to admit the turkey sandwich was delicious along with the watermelon agua fresca. The agua was so good and refreshing. They have a variety of different foods to pick. All in all a good place to eat if you are having your car washed or oil change done here. read more

Delicious!!! I ordered the Modern Torta again and it is exactly what I am looking for in a sandwich. For me, the sandwich is really big so I only eat half and save the other. The salsa is the BEST!!!! So much flavor with not so much spice. The area is clean and the workers are kind and helpful. The juices are fresh, light and refreshing. Don't let the simplicity fool you! I came in to this small coffee shop. Outside I saw only iced coffee but it was early in the morning and I wanted something hot. I came in and was greeted by a really cheerful team behind the counter. I ordered a cappuccino and their special "Moderns Torta" for breakfast. The torta came with a spicy sauce. Who would've thought that a good Mexican style cafe would be inside a car wash?! Moderns is the real deal with oh so good bionico's. They also have tortas and aguas frescas and smoothies and shakes and omelets... whew! The kids and I devoured a large bionico ($6.95), that was well worth it and easily fed all four of us. So this place is off of hacienda blvd. let's just clear that up. This is such a cute place. Staff is accommodating, caring when it comes to you ordering. We ordered the chicken salad sandwich, pancake and chicken torta. All of ig was yummy! Chicken salad comes with grapes, apples and cranberries. It's truly the perfect combination. We love supporting our local community and businesses. This place will not let you down! read more

Wow-- all in all in one word delicious! I stopped in here after a appt for breakfast and boy was I glad I did. I got to try the best croissant of my life! I got the Mexican Cuernito with chicken, it came with lettuce, tomato, avocado etc. 10/10 on the Croissant and chicken sandwich. Everything was made fresh to order and grilled. I also got a strawberry banana smoothie with milk that knocked my socks off and reminded me of my mom's. Amazing customer service! Parking seems limited but just park in any spot since they do oil changes next door. Will definitely be coming back when in the area. Moderns was a pleasant surprise in an unassuming spot next to an oil change mechanic. It has the feel and the robust menu selection of a more upscale cafe in downtown LA, yet is attached to a carwash. It's a great place to get an healthy omelette, fruit smoothie, or various more-hearty breakfast and lunch options. I enjoyed a carrot juice smoothie with a veggie omelette. Came to get my oil change and car wash at CarLoops and found this place. This place has been open and closed throughout the years that I have been coming to CarLoops. I hope this place does well because their food is really really good. Today I had a crepe but I want to try a sandwich [go to dinner with the wife after so I couldn't today]. The place is super clean and Carloops offers WiFi so here I am after enjoying my crepe putting a Review together while I wait. The family that runs the place is very friendly and the crepe was great. They have a lot of offerings in both sandwiches, crepes, etc for under $5 so they are super reasonable. The only bad part is that if you wait too long you start to get the awesome smells of their delicious foods being made; now I'm thinking. Well what time is dinner? Clean family owned restaurant. Their food is fresh, i can tell by the way the ingedrients look/taste. Everyone inside is wearing a mask so thats a huge plus these days. They have some hidden menu dishes you can ask for, like chilaquiles. So far everything i tried was delicious. I eat here at least once a week. read more

The food here reminds me of my moms Cooking so you know it's good! Food Is always hot and fresh and they treat you is as if you were family. I started coming here because I get my car washed next door so it's super convenient but I love it so much that I now call for order pick up. I recommend the omelettes, moderns torta or the chilaquiles and the natural juices are a must! This place is a hidden gem. read more

Horrible customer service I ever experienced and I'm not exaggerating ! I was on my 30 min break at work and still chose something close by "modern cafe" also being my first time experience and I walk in immediately. I am right away waiting 10 minutes just to have my order placed after I do get attended. I'm waiting on just a sandwich for 45 minutes. It was a waste of time got my refund and left . Car wash next to their business wasn't a good idea for you pal . Instead of thinking I didn't understand Spanish and told ur employee just give her a refund cus ur too slow in the kitchen to make a basic sandwich this place is not so great . I'll be sticking to my OG place it's LA Social Cafe never a disappointment ! read more

I love that I can kill time here while I wait for my car wash. The food is outstanding! Everything tastes homemade. It's always a little wait, but what's the rush your car is being washed! Lol My favorite thing on the menu is the banana milkshake and the grilled chicken sandwich. It's super fresh you can tell with every bite and every sip. The prices are just right and the menu is nice and light. I honesty come to the car wash here just to eat here. Service is great. Quick tip make sure you order food as soon as you finish paying for your car wash because it takes a while to get your food. But the wait is totally worth it. read more

A small quiet cafe that offers many healthy breakfast options with excellent customer service and staff who are knowledgeable and friendly. Located inside the car wash, I expected to be unable to eat my food inside the small cafe. But every customer is pretty quick to eat while their car is being washed. I had a delicious Moderns Torta and a strawberry banana smoothie made with milk. You can also get free coffee as a cafe customer. The Moderns Torta has grilled chicken, spinach, avocado, jack cheese, grilled onion, tomato, and mayo. It comes with a side of hot sauce that pairs super well with the torta. For the strawberry banana smoothie, you have three options: water, milk, and soy milk. The prices range with those options as well. All smoothies are made with fresh fruit and NO SYRUP. Since it's all made to order, don't expect to get your food right away. I definitely will eat here the next time I get my car wash. Or maybe when I'm in the area and I'm hungry! read more

2nd time coming here and the service was nothing like my first experience. The young girl working the counter has a horrible attitude. When I walked in it looked like she was eating in the corner, so I waited until she approached me. I didn't call for service or waived at her I just waited in front of the register. As she walked towards me I smiled at her, with no smile back she rudely asked what I wanted to order. I told her nothing thank you and walked out. Next time I come get my car washed I will only come in, if the gentleman is here. He was very nice and the food was delicious. The pic is from my first visit. First impression, 3.5 stars. We go to the car wash place here sometimes, but I had never tried Moderns Cafe until recently. Ironically, I tried it for the first time when I wasn't actually being a customer at the car wash. I was craving crepes, so I ordered the chicken crepe while my fiance ordered one of the sandwiches. We ordered to-go and food took a while to come out. Seemed busy though. Lots of people ordered the drinks here, which looked good. I'll have to try those next time. I thought the crepe was tasty enough, but the the texture was slightly dry and stiff. Sandwich was also a bit too dry for our tastes, but flavor was fine. Simple and healthy food for reasonable prices. It's worth trying, especially if you're already at the car wash. I'd definitely want to try their drinks or fruit options next time. read more

Be patient when you visit because the place gets busy, which is always a good sign, but the service is still great. My favorite was the Horchata Latte (iced but i'm sure hot is also pretty good). I also got a banana nut muffin and when you mix those two together you get yummy bliss. Definitely going to stop here more often now.
