I happened to be in the area at "GD Burgers" and noticed this Panaderia while I drove by, they have all the pan dulce in cases https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-puente-bakery-no-2-la-puente?select=7QbCVHWfA8cXEy8t5MFHnw https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-puente-bakery-no-2-la-puente?select=aqzjjpRx2Q7UL8fZdMR-Eg that they will pull for you, my guess Corona protocol, because they did have large cases that were empty, assuming that's typically where it would be for self-service. I'm kinda lost for words for this place, when you walk in everything looks beautiful, it's also way overpriced for pan dulce, especially this is La Puente! In general, most of the pan dulce is average at best, the only think I'd consider above average was the small empanadas, they also have large empanadas which I got, the smaller ones were better, not sure exactly why but it was due to the bite in the dough. I also Tamales, another overpriced item that was not good.....enjoy the photos I'm done! Tamales 6 - $14.99 I got 2 of each Cheese, Chicken, Pork The Masa was way too thick on most of these, dry and lacking flavor...don't waste your money on these Tamales!! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-puente-bakery-no-2-la-puente?select=EFwOQQNfC47bqHIZe_oEXw Cheese https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-puente-bakery-no-2-la-puente?select=Xm3RFHN5X_sc-iC_eiaGJA Typically Cheese comes with Rajas *(a green chili) this had none https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-puente-bakery-no-2-la-puente?select=1yXGAGGXqGj2mibSBP5ylQ not good at all. Here are the tamales ready for us to try
Toma C.

This place was below average because they don't give you much meat and a ton of the masa. It was super dry and not the way I like my tamales. See my photos. I wouldn't be back again.

Rise and Shine early risers, this little corner bakery has got you covered when your in a rush. This place opens up way before the roosters start to crow. Cakes and fresh baked bread in the morning, check. Not only that, they also have hand made tamales and champurrado ready to go.If you don't know what champurrado is,let me speak on this.A warm and thick chocolate based atole that will certainly warm you up on those cold mornings. And this hot commodity is one of the main reasons this bakery is jumping off so early in the morning. So now they are starting to make submarine sandwiches,I haven't tried them yet but with their fresh baked bread I'm sure it will be a hit.One last thing I forgot to mention is that if you want a certain amount of tamales,I will suggest you order them a day in advance, trust me. The service is pleasant in the early morning hours and it keeps on going till the afternoon.I have been here at both time frames so I can vouch for that.So if you're in the area in the wee hours come try this place out.And that's my take.Peace out Yelpers

This isn't a Tamal people. It's an Empanada de cajeta that's old and hard. Looks like they spread old pinto beans inside...yuck

One if the most expensive and worst tasting bakeries in town. I stopped by this morning to pick up some sweet bread and roles (birrotes). Spent over $15 for a couple of pieces so you would figure that you were buying the freshest and softest most best tasting bread in town. Well, think again my friend. All the bread was stale and hard. Even my son's carrot cake was dry and hard with white spots. The birrotes were rock solid and sold as fresh. They we're so hard that I couldn't squeeze the bread. If I wanted tostadas, I would have bought a pack instead. This bakery better step up their game so that their bread matches the quality of their ridiculously high prices.

I'm just posting this to warn people ! This is very disturbing please if you buy from here be very careful and cautious. My mother and her co workers decided to buy tortas from here as they were getting ready to eat, her coworker noticed a blade in her torta after she had taken her first bite. When my mom when to go complain they panicked and took the torta away and just gave her another one. Never again will they be going back here. Be cautious people please ! This is very scary !!!!

Lately (especially since one of their family members had an unfortunate accident), it's been frustrating to try to get anything: they don't make the butterflies every week, and I've made 4 trips to over the past month and a half and only succeeded in getting anything at all on one occasion. First trip was mid-January. Turns out that was the first day they had reduced hours because of the injury and I was there an hour after they closed. Second trip (about a month later): they didn't have butterflies until the week after. Third trip the following week: I forgot about the family member who was out (or maybe I thought they'd be back because that's how we do), so I artived after close again. Fourth trip: finally got the goods! Was it worth it? The almond cookies were good, but the butterflies were a bit flat and not airy, like they were just deep-fried wonton skins with thickened sugar syrup on them. Both times (out of 4 attempts!) I actually caught them when they were open (granted, I'm an early afternoon person, not an early morning one), there were only 1 or 2 cakes in the case, a bunch of bags of cookies, and, on the one successful visit, I got the last order of butterflies. Haven't had their strawberry cake in years (that first trip was for my birthday cake, womp womp), but they look the same. Moral of the story: get there early or be disappointed...or just drive to Chinatown.

The place is a small shop and the shop owner stated they've been there for 51 years. They only had the butterfly and almond cookies left roughly one hour before closing. I was never an almond cookie lover so I skipped on trying that but I found out at my party that several party goers loved almond cookies when they grew up so I'll be back for more butterflies and almond cookies in my next event. They have ample parking in this lot so there will always be parking to get your treats.

I have been a frequent Cafe FC customer over the last few months, and I can undoubtedly say that this business is very consistent with its product delivery and quality when it comes to coffee drinks. Not only do they serve great coffee, but they also offer alternatives like tea and kombucha beverages. I often come here to catch FC Barcelona games while drinking their signature coffee drink (Cafe Signature on the menu). Other drinks I've tried include their famous Oaxacan Mocha and cortados. I highly recommend the Oaxacan Mocha, I spoke with the business owner, and he mentioned they make all the Oaxacan mocha in-house. Their Cafe FC Signature drink comes with raw milk; however, you can ask for alternative milk if that's not your thing. I've tried both options and was very happy with each. I often choose alternative milk since it's $1 less. The place is always busy over the weekends and full of great vibes. All employees are very welcoming. She seemed unsure at times and had to step away multiple times to ask questions in the back, which made me a bit concerned about the order details being captured correctly. Initially, I asked for the writing on the cake to be in blue and pink ("Coming Sept 2026"), and she confirmed it could be done. However, I later changed my mind and requested the writing to be in white instead. She said she would update the order form, but unfortunately that change was not reflected when I picked up the cake. When I received the cake, the writing was not only done in blue and pink, but it also looked messy and poorly done, which was really disappointing for such a special occasion. I didn't say anything at pickup because I didn't want to make the moment more stressful. That being said, the cake itself was actually delicious--I ordered carrot cake, and the flavor was great. Overall, if you're just looking for a tasty cake, they do a good job. But if you want detailed or neat writing/design work, I would be cautious based on my experience.
