Rainbow Donuts is the closest donut shop to our house. They usually have my and my kids favorites. We get a 1/2 dozen and it's $10. The ones that we normally get are: Glazed Twist, Chocolate Glazed, Rainbow Sprinkles over white or chocolate cake, Chocolate Bar, or Chocolate Sprinkles. Date of visit: November 22, 2024 I've always been a sucker for a good apple fritter, and I'd been curious to try Rainbow Donuts' version seeing how I pass them every time I visit my fiancee's neighborhood. A couple of weekends ago I finally had the chance. For $3.50, I got a very large apple fritter with a free donut hole thrown in. Much more expensive than what I normally pay for at my local donut stores in San Diego... but I ended up splitting the fritter in two due to its size, and each half made for a delicious part of my breakfast over two days. Plus, that donut hole was also pretty good; might have to get a few more of these on future visits. I was taken aback a bit at how small Rainbow Donuts is on the inside, but the service is nice and as I left, several other customers were coming in. I've probably been coming to this donut shop for over 20 years now. Sad to know that the previous long time owner sold the store a couple years ago, but just want to mention that he and his family were always kind and super friendly. Always enjoyed the quality of donuts here as well as my kids who grew up on these. Ordered half a dozen today and had to get my old fashioned maple. So so good. Good variety of donuts! They still had a lot left when I visited on a Friday at 5pm. They close at 6pm, which makes me wonder if they use the leftovers for the following morning. Your regular basic donuts are $1.75. Can't believe donuts are so pricey now! I also got an Apple Fritter, which comes in two sizes. The smaller one was $2.50 and the larger one was $3.50. I thought both the sugar twist and apple fritter were good! Not too oily. I do want to try their original glazed donuts next time. Given they still had so much donuts close to closing time, I wished they offered a deal to clean up the place (unless they really do resell them the next morning). read more

i love the donuts here! they have the style i like which is yeast or raised type of dough. these are much fluffier and easier to eat than cake donuts. other than the buttermilk old fashioned, i haven't tried their other cake ones because i always just go for the chocolate, sugar & glazed twist or circle donuts, maple bar, and apple fritter. the old fashioned buttermilk is great and buttery here. it's not dry like many other shops. the owner seems very nice. i've never had bad service here. it's your simple donut shop with the mom and pop feel. this is your friendly no fuss local donut shop. read more

Shop owners are very friendly and nice. They have this chocolate chip donut that is so good. It's covered with chocolate chips on top and has a layer of chocolate in the middle. So decadent. I expected it to be too sweet but it was perfect. I also tried the blueberry glazed donut which was also yummy. Again, not overly sweet. Glad I discovered this place! read more

Wow Rainbow Donuts did an awesome job making delicious breakfast sandwiches. 20 croissant ham egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches which feed 40 peoples because it was cut in half. I had to pick up before 7 am and it was ready. They put the sandwiches in aluminum tray with aluminum foil to keep it warm. Very thoughtful. I was driving by on my way to work and decided to stop by to give this place a try. They have a small case of donuts with a little bit of everything. They had a few left of my favorite type of donut, the buttermilk. I also asked about a unique looking old fashion donut and she said it was blueberry flavor, so I decided to get that too. I also decided to pick up a generous sized ham, cheese and jalapeño croissant for my son. He hasn't tried the croissant yet, but I ate a bite of both donuts and was impressed with both! I used to live in Diamond Bar as a kid and I remember that this donut shop was always in business for as long as I can remember. Now, as an adult, it warms my heart to see that business is still doing well. Recently, I've been finding myself making a stop here during the morning before I head out to work. I LOVE the iced coffee here. Obsessed with it! I come in every morning for my Vanilla Iced Coffee. Once in a while I'll add a ham & cheese croissant (which is amazing) or a donut. The husband and wife who own the place are absolutely delightful. They are so so so nice and happy, it makes a happy start to your day. I have not yet tried their donuts. My review is based solely on their surcharges. $0.79 for any card purchase and $2 for anything $36 and over. A dozen regular donuts is $18 so if you order two dozen donuts, you're automatically charged $2. Bring cash if you want to avoid the surcharges. I'm all for supporting small business, but I don't know about charging customers more when they're already helping the business with their larger purchases. hope their donuts are worth the surcharge. read more

EXPIRED MILK Even though I moved I always try to get a donut here when I'm back in town. Today will be my last- they sold me expired milk! It tastes funny and I checked the date Dec 18 ... today is the 20th gross. Charged me .75 to use my debit card too. Donuts grease sponges with extra sugar please! You sometimes just want one of these delicious breakfast treats so it was a random Sunday morning trip with the coworkers to get some of what's good! Upon arrival we were delighted to see that they still had a good amount of the dough goodies left for it being about 9:40 on a Sunday once I glanced around at what was yummy I came to the conclusion that I needed a apple fritter and one of those totally yummy old fashioned blueberry ones which I was like oh so much all about after the first bite! The blueberry old fashioned was delicious I don't think I've ever had blueberry in one of these before and it was definitely one of the better donuts here by far so much so that I'm definitely getting one of these again at some point as oh soo yummy! The Apple fritter was about average as to what it should be and pretty much standard to the ones you find at other shops it was in itself yummy with the crispy edges just how it should be! Overall with some milk to wash it all down this is a decent donut shop that's making what's good and I'm sure we will venture here again at one point when the coworkers and I are craving that greasy breakfast goodness! read more

An elderly gentleman was upset that he had to pay almost $12 for four donuts. I agreed and told the lady behind the counter that they are more expensive than most donut places. Personally, I pay $2 more for a sandwich at their shop than I do at other donut shops.
