This is still a great spot to get fresh donuts for my team on the way to work! Donut Star opens relatively early - I think the gal I spoke to said 430am/5am - so great for early birds! A dozen donuts is now $21 (cash pricing) as of this past Tuesday 4/7/26 - so almost double from when I would get them regularly during the pandemic (my last review here was back in October 2020). I normally get an assortment of glazed/sugar twists and donuts, as well as maple and chocolate bars. Good selection of donuts that are fresh and well-received by the team. Refrigerated drinks such as milk and coffee in the cooler, as well as fresh coffee behind the counter. It's relatively low-key with some seating inside. Support your mom and pop shop! read more

I watched people go in and out of this donut shop, on a Sunday morning. The amount of people that hit this donut store, was surprising! I thought to myself, this must be a sign that it's good! The donuts are soooo fresh! I grabbed a bear claw and it was delicious. You could tell it was baked that morning. Good flavor too. Pricing seems fair for donuts. The lady was nice. I also grabbed a Thai Tea to go. It was decent. Ambiance is a grab and go type of place. There are some small tables and chairs inside, but not much room. It was kind of warm inside the shop too. I loved stumbling upon this small mom and pop looking business. I saw breakfast sandwiches signs displayed and ordered an egg cheese sausage croissant sandwich. Went for mochi donuts on a Saturday, only to find out that they only make them on weekdays. Decided to get a ham and cheese croissant. To my disappointment, one piece of ham rolled up with cheese occupied one half of the croissant, so after several bites and no ham or cheese, I finally figured out that it didn't have equal distribution throughout. Throughout. I ate the portion that had ham and cheese and threw the other half of the croissant in the trash. It's good here but by around 11am there wasnt too many donuts left and I can tell it was from the early morning batch. I don't think the turn around here is very quick bc it's not as busy as some other donut shops. The owner and many yelp reviews said the chocolate donut is good so 6 of the dozen i bought were chocolate and it was not very good to me. It was dry and tasted like fake cheap chocolate like most other donut places. It didn't look as good as other places either but I trusted the reviews and ordered anyways. Their old fashion was good...and 1 of the original glazed was good. I say only 1 bc the other 1 sweated and the glazed became wet and the bread soaked it in and was dry bread with wet sweetness on the outside. I just left it in a cool dry place too. After just couple hrs all of them turned dense bready and hard. I'm used to donuts being good even the next day!! I can get alot better donuts elsewhere for $10/dz. FIVE STARS for Donut Star!! I always make a point to stop by whenever I'm in the area. Make sure to try the blueberry donut, and the glazed (maple or chocolate) ones are always super fluffy and light. Aside from the donuts, you can pretty much find anything you might need in the morning, from cup noodles to bagels to cigarettes. I've found it a great place to gather for some yums before heading off to Disneyland for the day. You can really feel the "family" part of this family business! It's a cute little shop that's been here (according to the owners) for over 30 years. They always remember me even though I only come once in a while. I have seen them chatting with their regulars who have stopped by while I've enjoyed my coffee. We had a craving for classic donuts, and Donut Star is in the perfect location for us to drop buy and grab a dozen! Today was the first time we came it, but I already know I'll be coming back. We got there around 8:30am on a Sunday, and they had a HUGE selection! The person who helped us out was really nice, and threw in an extra donut (free!) so our box would be full. Great selection and very tasty donuts, and the service was great as well. Be aware that they charge an extra $0.25 to use a debit or credit card (wasn't a big deal to me). I was in dire need of a donut place as the one I usually go to didn't really peak my interest. The donuts just aren't that great and I wanted to bring some good donuts this morning! Saw this place out of the corner of my eye and did a move quality u turn! The place is small and unlike other donut places, doesn't offer breakfast sandwiches or any other type of fresh food. They do however offer cup of noodles and an assortment of other ramen type of noodles. There is a cold drink case which houses all your favorites including the Capri sun which always makes me smile. The gentleman that helped me was kind and very quick. You have the option of using 1 or 2 boxes for 2 dozen donuts. He even threw in a couple extra for good luck I guess! After trying the donuts, I would say that the batter they use is far better than the usual place I go to. Now I'm no donut connoisseur but I do know yumminess when I taste it. Family run business since 1990 and they treat you like family. So important to support our local businesses in these uncertain times and so pleased we found Wayne and Simone. We had originally gone to Krispy Kreme but the line was wrappped around the lot we drove back home and realized this place was only a block or two away so we stopped in. I love this place. I stop by here occasionally to get glazed donuts. The place is never crowded, so you'll get your service right away. The owners are really nice and generous. Every time I stop by they ask me how I'm doing with a genuine smile on their faces and wish me a great day. They know how to make their customers' morning. They also know how to make donuts. They're delicious and not too sweet. They go well with warm milk or hot cocoa. They are quick, well mannered, and not overpriced at all. This review that I'm about to give is based on the times I was last there and let alone, ever had their donuts...from this particular location. The years were from 1990 to roughly 1993. My Dad would get a box (or two) of donuts just about every Saturday morning and sometimes Sundays (all depended) and there were a few times I actually went in here with him. This is probably the donut spot that gave me my first real impression and taste and love, of the donut itself for me. I was a sucker for the custard filled, the jelly filled, and the chocolate bars. Later on it would be the chocolate chip cinnamon roll donuts (which I would really hope it was covered in chocolate-that's a whole other story). It sparks nostalgia for me and even till' this day whenever I have a donut, it takes me back to the time of my childhood in where the donuts I obtained once a week and truly enjoyed, came from this location! I have not been there since the early 90's, so I'm looking on going back ASAP! When I do I will give my OFFICIAL UPDATED review, which I'm sure will not stand far from this review. Tried this place when my wife and I were in the area on business. Excellent selection of donuts and rolls, with the cinnamon rolls, old fashioned and raised chocolate donuts being exceptional. Solely based on my husband and kids boasting about the chocolate bars here. Yes it looks run down and we get donuts often because we are always up early on the weekends traveling to my sons baseball games so this was right around the corner from the field. I didn't try anything myself but again my picky husband said the chocolate bar was hands down the best donut he has ever had. The bars are pretty big too, but I guess they lay the chocolate on thick and the chocolate is good, not some cheap tasting kind. So don't be fooled by the exterior. read more
