This is our favorite donut spot. The donuts are exceptional and the owners are the best. We are from Las Vegas and stopped in on a drive to the beach when my son was three and it became a mandatory stop on every trip since (several times some years) for the past 20 years. Every time we walk in they remember us and they've watched my son grow up. He's now married and I love that he's continued to make that stop when he goes to the beach with his wife, both for the donuts and to tell old friends "hi". Thank you!!! read more

I stopped in because it's close to my house, I got two glazed donuts. They were so fluffy and huge. They both weighed 219 grams. I didn't feel like driving all the way to The Donuttery just to pay more than double the price and I'm glad I didn't. I'll be returning, just know there's homeless people in the area. read more

There are usually some sketchy looking fellas hanging outside, but they've never bothered me before and usually keep to themselves. My fav place to go grab a ham n cheese croissant when I don't want to drive all the way to Newport Beach. They also have the jalapeño ham and cheese croissant as well. They can heat them up per request. Not somewhere I'd drive out of my way for, but if you're nearby, it's worth popping in if you're looking for some basic donuts, coffee, and ham n cheese croissant! read more

I used to come here in the mornings on my way to work. Today I stopped by in the evening and I had completely forgotten they only take cash no card. I had already ordered a donut and croissant. The lady had already bagged them for me. When it came to pay she told me it was cash only. I only had $2.50 and my total was $4. In the bag with the donut she had already put in a free donut for me. She let me pay her the $2.50 I had in cash and I got 2 donuts and a croissant. I offered to pay with my card but wasn't able to. I will come back and give them a nice cash tip. I swung by here on my way to work, and bought a dozen for my coworkers. (I brought cash this time...). I got 6 regular glazed, two chocolate, and three apple fritters. I was there between 9:00-10:00am. I work about 2 1/2 - 3 miles down the street, and when I got to work, they were all ice cold. Not only that, they also tasted like they were from out of prepackaged box from a grocery store. I could understand them being old, and stale if it were night time, but, it was breakfast hours.. There are so many other donut places, they should step up their game if they want to make it out alive (and in business). read more

Best place. Been going here forever now. Yes they are old school and only take cash, but I'm glad they are still here. You can't hate the prices though. Other places charge 12 or more for a dozen. It still cost under 10 here and one classic still under a buck. read more

I cruise the streets of Garden Grove scopin' out apple fritters. One apple fritter to effectively out-glaze all other apple fritters. One apple fritter to take home, impregnate, and settle down with. Once in a while I come across a singular specimen worthy of a long-term relationship. I was not able to find such apple fritter at Master Fresh Donuts. I saw her sitting there, basking in the glow of the late afternoon sunlight. My blood sugar level was low and I was ravenous. She looked at me. She stretched out to flaunt the slightly-melted glaze on her lumpy physique. I spoke to the cordial young man at the register and asked for her. It took all the strength I had to restrain myself from peeling away the paper bag right there in the store. I waited until I got home to take a bite of her lady-lumps. She was crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Not dense. The glaze-to-bread ratio was perfect. Could this be love? Only when I was finished ravishing this lovely fritter and giving her a home in my tummy did I realize--not only did she lack the full-bodied cinnamon flavour of a true apple fritter, there was no sign of true apple-presence. She was more fritter than apple. She was merely an over-fried donut in a lumpy fruit-less disguise. I collected the fragments of my broken heart and turned my attention to some donut holes, which were fluffy and delicious, if not lacking in personality. They were of little consolation. I remember I used to come to this place back in 2007 I used to live very close, my surprise was same owner and same friendly people like back then, it was nice to see them again. any ways..... im obsessed with chocolate and sugar donuts so these where very good, as I was waiting for my turn I notice its not as clean as it used to be, this place changed a little bit. now the thing I hated about this place is there's a lot of homeless people outside asking for money I ran to my car, locked the door and chugged my drink with my donut, meanwhile there's a 3 homeless tapping my window it was kinda scary. any way if im in the area next time, I will TRY to be back. read more

These are good old-fashioned American donuts. (Not at all like that disgusting Krispy Kreme). It is in the same shopping center as Home Depot, so in the morning the store was full of Mexican labor workers. I was pretty impressed by the Vietnamese lady working there. She was switching between speaking in Spanish, Vietnamese and English. read more
