Decided to continue my donut tour through LA and spotted this donut joint near Little Saigon of the LA suburb Westminster. Little did I know when driving up, and mentioned in several other Yelp reviews, that Sun's is immediately next door to Hong Kong Express Chinese takeaway restaurant that went viral in early 2024. So if you're visiting Hong Kong Express and there is a long line, pop over to Sun's and get a donut while waiting. Pros: - Good variety of pastries including muffins, croissants, and donuts. - I picked up a cinnamon roll with icing ($3.00) which I liked. Was soft and chewy! - Small place, but there was no line when I visited on a Saturday evening. - Plenty of parking as it's located in a shopping center. - Good prices compared to other popular donut shops as their cake and raised donuts are $1.95 each. Hello! This place was great until she became rude one day and refuse to sell to me of no where, I've been a customer for a long time, I believe she's racist and doesn't like Mexicans, also this place has so much roaches. Don't recommend no one to come here. Paying for donuts to the owner for poor quality customer service is not worth it. Do better or don't own a donuts shop!! read more

I'm surprised this donut shop wasn't sold out when I came in the afternoon! They have various donuts, from Boston creme to bear claws. There's no wait and they're reasonably priced. I visited this little donut shop due to the Hong Kong express having a long line because TikTok blew it up! So while we waited I wanted to get dessert so I decided to get a donut. The lady was very nice and attentive. I got half a dozen of donuts but this sweetheart gave me like a couple free donuts just cause. Super sweet! Ive been going here since I was a kid! Fresh donuts since I come in the morning, but they recently changed owners or something cause I came here often because they had different types of donut holes. They only have the regular glaze ones now, they use to have the cake donut holes and they were delish! But this place is still good! Donuts truly are the meal of champions, and Sun's Donuts is a worthy provider. It just wouldn't be a Friday morning without my "breakfast" of champions, especially given a round of "almost" champion-like drinking behavior last night at (what I'll refer to as "YOCHH"). Diagnostics are as follows: My taste test revealed that Sun's needs to put hazmat labels around the apple fritters. The brick they were calling an apple fritter was so hard on the outside, I could've inflicted some serious blunt force trauma. I thought it could've been old, but upon biting into it, it was clearly: 1. Fried too long (hence the hardness) 2. Had too much glaze (also contributing to "hard") 3. Filling wasn't evenly dispersed (so the very middle was soft) However, Sun's redeems itself based solely on the quality of their "ham and cheese croissant". The ham is lean and the cheese isn't too overpowering. Though I could've used some more filling, the quality of butter croissant was superb. The croissant was buttery and flaky. In summary: Pros: 1. Location 2. Ham and Cheese croissant 3. An entire family of donut holes for the kids (sprinkled, glazed, etc) 4. Price. My apple fritter, ham and cheese croissant and coffee was under $5 Cons: 5. Apple fritter could be used as a lethal weapon. You don't want this quality in a food item. Overall, when it comes to Sun's Donuts, stick with the ham and cheese croissant. read more

Look, the donuts are not "amazing" but there good. However, sense there's lottery machines ghetto people come in for there gambling which is quite annoying. The hot chocolate was pretty bad it taste like it's from the gas station. My friend got boba he said it was okay. The donuts I got were fresh and tasted good, not greasy. The coffee had been on the warmer for awhile so the young lady helping me made a new pot right away. I didn't even have to ask. The only negative thing was that in my opinion the donuts could have used more icing. But when I factored in the high level of customer service received the icing was a non-issue. read more

This is a wonderful independent donut shop not far away from the Super 8 I stayed at over Labor Day weekend. The couple that runs the place (I'm assuming) were very friendly. Prices are quite reasonable, and the donuts are made fresh daily. (One female customer seemed surprised by this.) The plain cake donut is a great place to start, and the others we tried -- maple frosted, chocolate frosted, and plain glazed were also quite tasty. The coffee is quite good, and they also offer an assortment of bottled juices. Nice to have within easy driving distance in a neighborhood that doesn't have a lot going on within walking distance. read more

This place tastes great. My ham and cheese croissant and tiger tail was better than anticipated. The croissant was filled with delicious ham and there wasn't too much cheese; surprisingly, a good thing. The tiger tail was the size of my forearm and I'm glad it was because the people I was sharing with chowed down like it was their last meal. I stumbled upon this gem of a donut shop, and I'm so glad I did! The coconut donuts here are absolutely divine - they're bursting with flavor and have just the right amount of sweetness. I used to live right behind this store growing up, it was always my favorite place to go and I moved to Vegas and have been searching for donuts like those for so long but never found any better. The owner used to love me and my mother and always gave us free stuff, since her son died she sold it but I still had a good experience with the new owner. Moral of this paragraph, if you aren't trying you're missing out. read more

She impatiently asked, "What do you want now?" in a raised voice. I ended up saying, "Just give me anything." She then threw the donut onto the counter. I told her that this was not a good way to treat customers, and she replied, "I DON'T CARE." When I said I would not be coming back because of the way she treated me, she responded, "I don't care. I don't want your business," and walked away to continue cleaning. Unfortunately, this is not the first time she has treated me this way.
