Me in front of their banner!

They never fail to be so iconic and kind and sweet! Everything tastes delicious and is made to perfection each time. I come here every time I'm in Orange County. They also served at my birthday so might I add that. Literally the best donuts and best iced coffee too. Like you can't go wrong. It looks like a hole in the wall but that's what makes it great.

1. The croncha is a delicious fusion of croissant and concha! Also, this Vietnamese Iced Coffee was only $3, and that was the cheapest price for this coffee in the area! 2. The spot has fast-paced vibes as it is simply an order-and-go process! There are no seatings! 3. The staff were friendly and quick with my coffee! Took less than 5 mins! Note: They take cards but there is a 50 cent additional card charge! Photo: Croncha and Vietnamese Iced Coffee

Chocolate frosted donut

Donuts are one of favorite things and i decided to look for a relatively closer donut shop than my super favorite one in Fountain Valley. I found The Donut Makers and they make it to my list of faves. Unfortunately for me, they sold out of sugar raised one so I opted to get one each of their regular glazed and chocolate glazed. Both were fluffy and tasted fresh. Their donuts are a notch better than the store in Seal Beach and right below my top go-to spot in FV (why does it have to be so far!?!). This place is also known for their concha's. Since no fresh ones were available, I decided to get a bag of their day-old ones. I don't think it would be fair for me to give a review for it since it wasn't freshly made. I tasted it and it was alright. Would I get one again? Well, if I only had to choose between a concha and donut, then I shall always opt for the donut. Prices for the regular donuts were $1.35 and I think bars and twists were pricier. I forgot to take pics of their menu but will try to do that next time I go. The store worker was nice and friendly so complaints there. She mentioned that their known for their concha's and I should preorder if I want some since they don't have them later in the day. I think this place is a solid 4.5. I can't give that score so I'll bump them up to 5 just coz I'm feeling generous.

A concha and croissant together? Genius. I came to Donut Makers specifically to try their Croncha, which is a crossover between a croissant and a concha (Mexican sweet bread). They come in a variety of fun colors, but there is no flavor to the sugary crust on top - just a sweet taste. I warmed it in the toaster oven and I think that is the best way to enjoy this lovely treat because it was crispy on the outside and fluffy soft on the inside. Cronchas are a great alternative to donuts to enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea. Donuts are sweeter compared to Cronchas. If you're looking for a new twist to the croissant mix, give the Croncha from The Donut Makers a try!

At the top of my list of pan dulce that I love is the Chocolate Concha, so why did I start off this review talking about Mexican Pan Dulce when this is a Donut shop you ask? Not all pan dulce is created equal, while I always like to try new places for food, some simple things like pan dulce I find it difficult to find to my liking, there are only a handful of places around Los Angeles that I've found Conchas or Puerquitos to my liking. So why am I here at "The Donut Makers?" https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-donut-makers-garden-grove?select=eYBDbDnzK8KHMEpW3Bl6aA because "Cindy S" told me about the Croncha! Say what?.... Croncha https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-donut-makers-garden-grove?select=8wreNP9vFHTsmuyhaYTFtA 50% Croissant, 50% Concha, 100% DELICIOUS!!! OK, so it's a hybrid Concha, https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-donut-makers-garden-grove?select=noWYXKn2Y6F7T0VxorNwoQ yes, but this small independent Asian owned Donut shop is doing the Concha BETTER than the majority of the Panaderia's in Los Angeles! I've been there twice and only able to get a few Croncha's on one occasion, they do sell out fast, not sure why they don't make more? But my advise if you're going to go.....go early! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-donut-makers-garden-grove?select=nCJSsOXaN4L6Xj9VEuc5HA https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-donut-makers-garden-grove?select=G6w-caQqvP8GRmNA0OeHFw https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-donut-makers-garden-grove?select=EEEAWRyJBraLJ3Ht_80ImQ

Bagel with cream cheese
John D.

I've tried the donuts here a few times and they're delicious! Today I decided to try to the bagel with cream cheese and i was disappointed with the amount of cream cheese it had. The bread was tasty and crispy, which I loved! The service was quick and spot on.

Fruity pebbles twist donut.

I was craving donuts and noticed that The Donut Makers have something called Cronchas (a mix between a concha and a croissant). I knew I had to try it because I am a big fan of both, but to breed them together!?!? Who knew!?! Sadly, I came later on in the day and they were all sold out. Instead, I ordered a fruity pebbles twist donut and a Fruit Loop round donut. They are both great ideas; the flavors were definitely there and brought me back to my childhood. However, the cereals on the donuts did indeed taste stale. Decent though, nonetheless. I will try again another day to arrive early for those cronchas!

However, this morning I wanted to surprise my daughter with donuts before work and this was the closest spot. The Asian woman at the front took my order and was very rude. I initially wanted hot chocolate then immediately said never mind I'll get the iced frappe and she she acted like it was the worst thing for me to do. I ignored that and she handed me my donut and what I thought was my 2 sandwiches. I noticed a young man also working and I went next door to pull money out so I can tip him for how hard working he is. I come back into donut boss and the woman is screaming at me that I stole someone's donuts! I look in my bag and see my donut with 2 other donuts. The man told me that he didn't understand why she was screaming because it was just a misunderstanding. She told me that my stuff was stilll being made and to wait my turn, excuse me? You handed me the bag with his donuts in it!! I'm so upset at this point after she humiliated me in front of a place full of people. I'm waiting for my frappes and she hands me my stuff and I ask where was my second donut ( I initially ordered two but the bag only had one). She said she only charged me for one, I told her to make sure since she's making so much mistakes (no apology to me btw). I can tell as she's looking at my receipt that she did make a mistake, but says no she didn't (upon further inspection I realize she actually charged me for less then I owed!) Anyway, before I left I did ask the young man if he keeps all his tips that people give him and he said yes, and so I tipped him and thanked him for all his hard work and kindness. I will never come back to this establishment again. People like her give businesses a bad name. Got my order wrong, charged me wrong, and called me a thief. I could have made a scene but chose kindness instead. I suggest she learn to do the same. This place is pretty run down and dirty. However, I did appreciate the food tasting great and so did our drinks. For the expensive price, I would hope so.
