It's all about the maple bar for me and always has been. This donut shop gets an A for its maple bars. One of my biggest pet peeves is when the dough develops a crusty texture on the outside. The entire bar needs to be soft, and this one nailed that. The maple frosting added the right touch and didn't flake off like some other donut shops. Another thing I loved was the size. I don't need a "mega" maple bar. I want one that's easy to hold in my hand and that I can finish in one sitting. There wasn't anyone up front when I entered, but they quickly came from behind and helped me. There was even a little surprise in the bag, which I didn't even notice until I got to my car. The place was clean, and parking was good, although I came from Stater Bros, which doesn't have an in-house bakery. I'm not in the area very often, but when I am, I would stop here again for another maple bar. read more

I have full eating only half but didn't want the items to get cold so ended up finishing the entire thing. The egg was most likely made in a microwave but the cheese melted on top with it was very good. They also have some pre filled savory danish things or a build your own sandwich status which are completely delicious and cheap as hell. This is a family run business (a few sisters) so you're gonna see the same ladies each time that will undoubtedly ask you if you have kids (if not, how come?) if you have a significant other (if not, how come?) or if you have a good job (if not, how come?) but they never get on your nerves. If that's the good then here's the bad- $10 min on credit cards, place could def use a facelift and some decor, lack of consistency with flavors (I want my bacon maple bar EVERYTIME), and none of the other varieties of coffee are ever filled up. I have been eating at this Donut Star since high school. The donuts are always fresh tasting. But, nothing to special about them. The employees are nice and helpful, and the prices seem good compared to a few other donut stores I have visited. I got the 3 donuts below for $2.35. The maple bars are always good, the dough part is light and fresh. You get that little hint of grease taste so you know you are eating bad. I am not a fan of donut stores were the cake/dough part is not a little greasy. When I splurge on the calories and eat a donut, I want it to taste that way. It has a light maple glaze on the top. The chocolate cake donut with peanuts on top, was ok. The cake part was a little crispy, like it wasn't as fresh or maybe a tad over cooked. But, the chocolate icing and chopped nuts on top were good. It did leave a little bit of a weird after taste though. The rainbow sprinkle donut was better. The cake part of the donut was softer and fresher tasting. It wasn't to dense, and it had a good ratio of icing on top. This Donut Star is always a safe bet, for a good tasting donut. read more

This place is hands down my favorite donut shop. The first time I went here I had a bad experience because they ran out of donuts , but since after, I've been here several times. They have great fast service and do not charge a lot of money. I am a student at the nearby school and always come here in the mornings before school starts. They always give freebies, for example, after practice my friend and I came here and we got coffee and two donuts. They gave us a free waffle donut sandwich. It was really good.
