Nice donut shop in the middle of Placentia. It was nice to see the coffee area is self-service so the ladies behind the counter can utilize their time to get your drinks or donuts together. Picked up a TooGoodToGo order and I UNDERSTAND they are leftover items but the donuts were EXTREMELY STALE. I feel like they're left over from the whole week seeing as today is Friday. I've picked up at other donut shops and this is the worst order I've received. Also when I got there to pick up my order I got attitude and was immediately questioned if I already confirmed my pick up. The woman wouldn't take her eyes off MY phone screen but I'm not gonna confirm a pick up until I confirm there is in fact something to pick up. read more

Excellent Customer Service at Sophie's Donuts!! Did not catch the young lady's name, but she made me feel welcome. 5 stars for the Customer service!! Purchasing donuts was not my only reason for dropping by. I wanted to buy a lucky Lotto ticket too. Unfortunately, they do not sell Lottery/Lotto at this shop. Oh well, donuts are more important anyways! Lol!! I tried three donuts. All three of them tasted above average The Chocolate French Cruller was my favorite. Most shops do not make them. If you find yourself in this part of Fullerton craving a donut, then I recommend giving Sophie's a try. I'll be back from time to time if I am in the neighborhood. read more

The doughnuts are small compared to other places for the same price. Which may not be a terrible thing if you are looking for something that's smaller in portion and possible lower sugar content. The store also does the cell phone thingy so it's a little confusing, but I guess I understand the need to survive with harsh economics nowadays. Might return when I am in the neighborhood and the craving hits! read more

Local donut spot that is my go to now. The store doubles as a cell phone shop where I believe you can also send money to family/friends in other countries like Mexico. The service is good, prompt and kind. My fav donut here is the old fashioned, those and the sprinkle chocolate glazed are so perfectly crunchy on the outside but nice and fresh in the middle. Good variety for a small shop. I honestly wish I could eat donuts everyday after I started going here. Their hours are a bit limited. They open very early and close fairly early but it's worth it. read more

After reading Christine C.'s review, I was dying to pay Sophie a visit and instantly bookmarked it. The opportunity came when I was running some errands and realized that this place was nearby. Although it was during the afternoon and there wasn't much selection, the donuts was still in fact "soft and just the right sweetness." It was a yummy afternoon snack. Wow this place is great! If you're ever craving some sweets, definitely come here. The best donuts ever. I tried their cinnamon crumble bun oh my Delicious. Sophie the owner was really nice. They have a very huge selection of donuts if you're on the go and want to snack on something especially if you're a college student. Definitely come here in the morning because they run out fast! I really recommend this spot. Oo their ham and cheese croissant with jalepeños , so so soft and just melts in your mouth. Love this place always will be my go to! read more

Stop 2 for donuts for the day. The donuts were not pretty and I said why not. Sometimes taste is better then looks. First I asked for 2 dozen but then I had a weird feeling. Once I got in the car I tried one and and.......... 1. Ugly donut 2. Heavy donut 3. Old Greasy Taste (like 3 weeks old grease) 4. Nasty Grease Taste there after 5. Stomach turning 6. Sloppy This is by far the worst donut I have ever had. The owners should check the recipe and should be careful when picking up donuts. Horrible! read more

It's a blessing and a curse that I live 1 minute away from this donut shop. Blessing cuz it tastes so YUM, curse because the calories go straight to my gut. DONUT HOLES!!: THE BEST!! I get them at 6 in the morning on my way to work sometimes. They are perfectly glazed so that they are ALMOST crispy to the bite, and then sooooooooooo soft on the inside. They are AMAZING. BLUEBERRY GLAZED DONUT: For those of you that wait hours to get your blueberry donut fix at M&M's donuts.... after you try the blueberry glazed donut at Sophie's, you will feel retarded for waiting that long at M&M's to get virtually the same donut at Sophies with no wait. It is YUM!! CREAM PUFFS: Powdered cream puffs... SUPER GOOD! GLAZED: The glazed donuts are so perfectly soft and perfectly glazed. EVERYTHING ELSE: The quality of ingredients they use in all their donuts is great and every donut is made so perfectly. Yesterday was first time trying this donut place. Truthfully we didn't like it. The donuts had a strong greasy taste and my daughter was throwing up after eating them. I was on a journey to fill my chocolate cravings after I had a whatever chinese meal next door. And then... *uuaaaahhhhhhhhh* (Sound when the heaven doors open) Donuts!!! Chocolate donuts!!!! After I purchased my precious donut, I devoured it within 2 minutes. the bread was soft and the chocolate was as sweet as can be. To be honest, it's not different than any other chocolate donut, but like all chocolate donuts.. IT WAS GOOOD! Service was good as well. Quiet little donut shop. I usually stop in here with the bf after I grab some Chinese food to-go from Twin Dragon a few doors down. Not much of a donut person myself, but he always has a hankering, so why not? They're cash only (as is the case with most of these joints) and he seems to like their selection. I tried their boba and the tapioca pearls were a little mushy (probably old), but the flavor of the tea wasn't bad. read more

I will not be coming back to this place again. On Saturday morning, I got 2 donuts and I was fine till around noon. I was vomiting for the rest of the evening and half day on Easter Sunday! I wasn't able to enjoy any food or the day with my family! Cut to April 6th, suffered from constipation after easter and having the runs non stop! Their donuts are not all fresh! I'm sure I ate 2 of the contaminated ones! I will never recommend this place! read more

Something really cool about this place is that you can customize your own donuts. I thought that was pretty nifty due to the fact that I always seem to wonder what a certain glaze/frosting would taste like on another donut....all I need now is an occasion. Then I'm all over it! Anyway, besides being able to create a Frankenstein doinut this place is just another Saturday morning donut shop. Their apple fritters are in the rankings as above average, but nowhere near the best. I did like that they had larger than usual sized apple pieces inside. Guess what....another place that offers blueberry donuts. I think every donut shop that was able to make it to Donut Shop Convention 2011 was filled in with the fact that there is a demand for blueberry donuts. These guys got the memo and have definitely nailed the recipe. Good stuff team! Their chocolate chip cookies were also really good here. I don't know how I always get lured into buying cookies at donut shops but I think I have figured out how the situation goes: I see them, they tempt me and......it's history after that. Maybe it's because I don't normally eat donuts. Being diabetic really puts a damper on enjoying desserts, so perhaps it's not fair for me to review this place. Honestly, all donut shops are the same for me. Basically sweet, glazed breads. They're all the same to me... But I can say I really liked the coffee! Today I went here for the first time. As I walked in, half the store was cell phone accessories-this threw me off-very strange. The other half of the store sold donuts. I must say, a previous comment stated that the donuts weren't "pretty." Ha! The donuts looked like all donuts at any donut store. I prefer donuts that are crisp on the outside & soft and warm inside. I found this gem while looking for a local doughnut store to bring in a box for a group meeting on campus at CSUF. They are open for longer hours than doughnut stores usually are open for. The owner is really cute and patient. My favorite of theirs is the old fashioned doughnut. SOOOOO GOOD. I love doughnuts but I don't love super colorful ones that have too much icing or a weird after taste (to me) and the classic doughnuts here hit the spot just right. Blueberry glazed donut from Sophie's is so good! Good thing I finally caved in and tried it. I also like their donut holes (10 for a $1). Their croissants are really delicious especially when they warm it up for you. I tried the plain and the ham & cheese croissants. Really wish they have the ham & cheese with jalapenos croissant. I'm happy that this place is so close to my place. I usually stop by in the morning before I go to work whenever I'm having a donut or croissant craving. It's clean here. Service is quick. Don't care if they are nice to me or not. As long they give me my donut, I'm a happy customer. read more

They had so many cake selections, plus pastries and drinks, which definitely makes me want to come back and actually spend more time there. Even though it was super busy, the service was impressively fast and efficient. One employee helped take my order and package everything up, and the cashier rang me up quickly, so the whole process was seamless and perfect when you're on a lunch break. The atmosphere felt very family-friendly, and despite how busy it was, the experience was still smooth. Parking is free, there's a small lot directly in front, but if that fills up, there's additional parking in the connected plaza, which makes it easy. I didn't get to try the cake but brother-in-law and sister said the cake was delicious. If you're in the Fullerton area and looking for a cute dessert spot with lots of options, this is definitely worth checking out!

I must admit, I was lured over by someone else's photo here on Yelp of a blueberry donut, so thank you for that ;) It was mid-morning when I arrived, so the cases reflected that the most popular items had been snatched up by the early birds, but there were still plenty of donuts and bagels to choose from. Best of all, there were still blueberry cake donuts to be had!! Donuts are similar to potato chips in that you can't just get one. I also ended up with a maple old fashioned and a raised that was dipped in maple glaze and further adorned with Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal. I'm saving the old fashioned for tomorrow (I figure of the 3, this one will do best on the second day). The blueberry cake with blueberry glaze was perfect with my morning coffee ~ I'd definitely pair these two together again! The Cinnamon Toast Crunch raised was light and fluffy, the cereal giving it a nice added crunch, and it was a much appreciated afternoon treat. The girl working the front of the store was very friendly and didn't look at me funny as I started snapping pics of the shop to go along with my review. When she finished my transaction, she went over to finish chatting with a customer. When I noticed a few ceramic coffee mugs hanging on the wall, I asked if they belonged to their regular customers. Indeed they were, one of whom she happened to be chatting with. Gotta love that! I left Donut Chain not just pleased to have scored a blueberry glazed donut, but also happy to witness the genuine, easygoing rapport that the employee and customer were enjoying.
