Got a DoorDash delivery last week from them. They had a buy one get one free half dozen so got that and a mocha coffee. The coffee was really good. And the service seems to be pretty amazing as I wrote down the types of donuts I would like and not like so when I got the box, it was pretty spot on. Each box also came with 7 instead of 6 donuts and then a few donut holes. With that kind of service, I'll definitely have them as one of my go to donut spots especially since they tasted delicious as well. read more

I came here via Too Good to Go and came in minutes before closing, but I still got a nice stuffed box of donuts (maple, regular, sprinkles, blueberry, filled) and my family was pleasantly surprised. The donuts still tasted fresh and had good flavor. The lady working didn't really say much when I walked in, but when I told her I was there for a pick up she didn't hesitate to get me what I needed. I never realized this donut shop was there, I always go to the store next to it, but now I have a reason to go here too. The inside was pretty no-frills and kind of dark (could have been because they were about to close). There's a small corner that looked like it was for selling SIM cards or something similar, but I didn't have any use for that so I walked straight to the donuts. Nice donut shop in the middle of Placentia. It was nice to see the coffee area is self-service so the ladies behind the counter can utilize their time to get your drinks or donuts together. Excellent Customer Service at Sophie's Donuts!! Did not catch the young lady's name, but she made me feel welcome. 5 stars for the Customer service!! Purchasing donuts was not my only reason for dropping by. I wanted to buy a lucky Lotto ticket too. Unfortunately, they do not sell Lottery/Lotto at this shop. Oh well, donuts are more important anyways! Lol!! I tried three donuts. All three of them tasted above average The Chocolate French Cruller was my favorite. Most shops do not make them. The donuts were made in 6 year old canola oil that made them taste like old eggs & gas. Yuk. Flavor is off & surprised they're in business.

The doughnuts are small compared to other places for the same price. Which may not be a terrible thing if you are looking for something that's smaller in portion and possible lower sugar content. The store also does the cell phone thingy so it's a little confusing, but I guess I understand the need to survive with harsh economics nowadays. Local donut spot that is my go to now. The store doubles as a cell phone shop where I believe you can also send money to family/friends in other countries like Mexico. The service is good, prompt and kind. My fav donut here is the old fashioned, those and the sprinkle chocolate glazed are so perfectly crunchy on the outside but nice and fresh in the middle. Good variety for a small shop. I honestly wish I could eat donuts everyday after I started going here. Their hours are a bit limited. Quiet little donut shop. I usually stop in here with the bf after I grab some Chinese food to-go from Twin Dragon a few doors down. Not much of a donut person myself, but he always has a hankering, so why not? They're cash only (as is the case with most of these joints) and he seems to like their selection. Something really cool about this place is that you can customize your own donuts. I thought that was pretty nifty due to the fact that I always seem to wonder what a certain glaze/frosting would taste like on another donut....all I need now is an occasion. Then I'm all over it! Anyway, besides being able to create a Frankenstein doinut this place is just another Saturday morning donut shop. Their apple fritters are in the rankings as above average, but nowhere near the best. I did like that they had larger than usual sized apple pieces inside. Guess what....another place that offers blueberry donuts. I think every donut shop that was able to make it to Donut Shop Convention 2011 was filled in with the fact that there is a demand for blueberry donuts. These guys got the memo and have definitely nailed the recipe. Good stuff team! Their chocolate chip cookies were also really good here. I don't know how I always get lured into buying cookies at donut shops but I think I have figured out how the situation goes: I see them, they tempt me and......it's history after that. I will not be coming back to this place again. On Saturday morning, I got 2 donuts and I was fine till around noon. I was vomiting for the rest of the evening and half day on Easter Sunday! I wasn't able to enjoy any food or the day with my family! Cut to April 6th, suffered from constipation after easter and having the runs non stop! Their donuts are not all fresh! I found this gem while looking for a local doughnut store to bring in a box for a group meeting on campus at CSUF. They are open for longer hours than doughnut stores usually are open for. The owner is really cute and patient. My favorite of theirs is the old fashioned doughnut. SOOOOO GOOD. I love doughnuts but I don't love super colorful ones that have too much icing or a weird after taste (to me) and the classic doughnuts here hit the spot just right. Blueberry glazed donut from Sophie's is so good! Good thing I finally caved in and tried it. I also like their donut holes (10 for a $1). Their croissants are really delicious especially when they warm it up for you. I tried the plain and the ham & cheese croissants. Really wish they have the ham & cheese with jalapenos croissant. I'm happy that this place is so close to my place. I usually stop by in the morning before I go to work whenever I'm having a donut or croissant craving. It's clean here. Service is quick.
