So i was in the area working, i wanted to grab a quick bite before going in to work. The lady seemed rude asf. Like she hates her life and job. I asked for fresh squeezed orange juice. Bagel and donut holes. When i opened my bagel it was not evenly spread. So i asked for more. She said $1.50 more, instead of just spreading a little bit more evenly. Whatever i paid the. $1.50. Didn't even argue her, tell me why dhe just puts a blob of cream cheese on top. I asked for knife or spoon and she said she had none. Such horrible customer service, she cod have just spread it. I've been a customer at Donut Star for over 15 years. The couple that owned this store were wonderful and everyone in the neighborhood kept going back because of them and the donuts. In recent years and the change of ownership the service and quality has definitely gone down. We order 3 breakfast croissants and they were terrible. It's not hard to make a breakfast sandwich but these were full of black pepper and the cheese was terrible. The croissants were undercooked. The bottoms were doughy and soft. Seems to be a common theme with rude service. I order from here on Grubhub and had missing items 2 days in a row. I called Donut Star first and the girl who answered said to come in. I did, and when I got there to explain she said she gave my Coffee to the Gribhub Driver, but after checking my camera he never had the drink in his hand. So I then asked about the Free Donut that was supposed to come with my order from the day before and she said they dont offer it anymore, so I told her it is on the App. She didnt care about replacing the items so I just left. Stop this morning after always loving it. Hadn't been there for a while. Pleased to see the upgrades in decor. Mom was craving a donut (specifically an apple fritter) after dinner on a recent trip so Southern California so stopped by this Donut Star as it said they were open 24 hours. We came around 8:00 PM and there wasn't much selection left. We ended up getting a dozen donut holes and a glazed buttermilk donut. They were only good but not great. You'd think for a 24 hour donut shop, they'd have more of a selection all day or at least offer to make you some if you're willing to wait. The older lady in the front (owner possibly) wasn't very friendly. She looked like she hated her job and no hi or smile when we walked in. Curtly asked what we wanted as we were browsing. As I open my box of food I saw a hair inside. I thought it might've been mine but I found multiple of them. I didn't make much of it until I found 5 hairs as well as a white one that blends in with the styrofoam. I'm greatful for my food and will eat it as it's just hair to me and it wasn't in the food but on the styrofoam but for some people that might not be the case. Coffee was good though! read more

The worst service i have ever experienced. Lost my apetite because of the horrible servive. Went to get donuts here and saw that reviews were okay. As soon as i go in no one is there so i call out for someone and still no one comes. Im just standing for a while until i call for someone again. An asian woman comes out and rolls her eyes. The donut shop has a sign on their window that says there is a student offer for a free small milk & donut OR a free small milk & ham/cheese sandwich. When I went in with a student ID and asked for the student deal, she just said "No" with a straight face and no explanation. The lady who works here is very rude! I will not be coming to this place ever again. I ordered of the app "too good to go" and was suppose to pick up the order between 4:20-4:50. I called at 4:50 saying I was on my way but running a couple minutes late and the lady that answered the phone said " I already threw away the food, it's not my problem" and I told her I would get there in a couple minutes and she said they're closing and she's gonna lock up before I get there and already threw the food out and kept saying " I'm not sorry". I had an extremely unfortunate experience today with both a female and male employee. My boyfriend and I come here all the time get breakfast sandwiches, drinks donuts anything that we feel in the mood for. Today I came to receive just some donut holes which they usually charge two dollars for two dozen, this lady was charging me two for one and when I tried to explain to her that I was in here the other day and that was not the price she just kept shooing me out the door saying no thank you when I asked to speak to a manager because I had questions about the pricing and the change in the menu and why things were different when I was coming in here alone they shoed me out the door. This place is dirty. This place is not good if you want to receive fresh food, do not waste your money here. When I asked to speak to the manager, they told me that no manager was present and that they did not have a number for the manager and nor could they put me in contact with one. I used to love this place but the customer service has been on a decline without Tom there all the time. I came in one morning and the Hispanic brunette at the counter completely ignored me and helped the four people that came in after me. I was super confused so I gave her a "hey I'm right here" look and she looked at me and continued to help others. After everyone else was gone, she helped me.
