Thursday will be my first return there. I tried applying there but they tell me business is too slow and no room fir more staff till business booms again. Thats why im writing this review to help boost business again to protect this business i love. Place like this one of a kind place needs protecting by us Americans who love the place as well as communities. The staff who works there was very friendly and nice! I ordered an assortment of donuts since it was my first time. Would recommend their stuffed donuts such as the lemon stuffed donut. Their donuts were fresh even though I came towards the end of the day. They also serve drinks and sandwiches there. They also have tons of cookie options. Will definitely return here in the future. Ordered donuts on grubhub. Very smooth process on the app, however it was challenging finding the powdered donuts at first we found it. We received our donuts shortly before excepted so definitely fast service. The donuts were really good. The apple fritter was my favorite of them all. As a self certified, international donut, connoisseur, sommelier, aficionado I couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit a donut spot local to where I had an appointment. Of course, I hit yelp for suggestions and landed on donut King. It was pretty easy to find. It was relatively good parking as I went at prime lunch hour. If you are a donut connoisseur, such as myself, this is not the place for you. I tend to stick to artisan donut bakeries where all they do is donuts because I know the quality will meet my expectations and my visit to King reinforced that perspective. When I got there, there weren't many left so I chose the mini donuts, the lemon, and a powdered doughnut. These are clearly not being made in house. They were absolutely basic. The lemon in the jelly donut was the traditional gelatinous goo. The miniature donuts are very very light and melted in your mouth so quick it's like you weren't even eating anything. The powdered was thoroughly uneventful. I would not recommend this if you want really really good donuts and I definitely won't be back. read more

So, it's been a baker's dozen years since I last reviewed this place and I feel I need to give it a most deserved update. The place has been modernized, but because of COVID there is no dining inside. I don't recall there being tables outside, but you wouldn't want to eat outside because the entrance is right up to the parking lot and when I was there there was a guy asking for money. I didn't give him any because there is a liquor store nearby. I did give him a donut though. They have a pretty expensive breakfast menu, but who are you kidding. I came for the donuts. It is Donut King, after all. I bought sugar twists donuts and cakes donuts. I got an apple fritter for breakfast the next day, and a scone (pictured) for my tea time. Loved what I had so far! I will have to make a return when they are fully open. Maybe sooner for more donuts to go. read more

The first time was in June 2020 after a friend's Facebook post recommending them, I ordered 1 Dozen Donuts I chose from and and a Philly Omlette on an Everything Bagel for my wife and I on GrubHub. This past Saturday from UberEats we got a Dozen Assorted Donuts, a Steak & Egg Sandwich on an Everything Bagel, and a Breakfast Reuben for my wife and I. I've been on a quest to find a non-chain donut shop that not only has delicious donuts but is also consistent in quality. I came across Donut King and figured I'd give it a try. I'll admit after seeing the photos online I walked into this situation not expecting to be wow'd however I wanted to give them a try after seeing their Honey Dipped (Glazed) donuts in photos. Long story short, their donuts are what you would expect from an old-fashioned, old school coffee, breakfast and sandwich shop. They give you all of the traditional donut flavors and I even saw donut twists. The donuts were OK. I was expecting more from the glazed donut which was a bit dry and lacking icing considerably which brought the dryness of the donut and the overall lack of sweetness of the donut itself to the forefront. The other donuts I tried in the photos were OK. I arrived around 10:45am to which I expected to find a good amount of donuts available and fresh in quality. Virtually all of the donuts they sell were available on showcase. Customer service was warm and friendly however that is with me being overly friendly to get some personality out of the cashier. I don't think I've ever rated a place one star? Seriously inedible donuts. And I don't consider myself a picky eater. They were hard and stale and tasted like they had been sitting there for days..which is probably likely since my order was placed on a Monday at noon- there's no way they were from that morning even. I even tried sticking them in the microwave for 30 seconds and they STILL tasted stale. Also, they didn't get my order right but at that point I didn't care because there was no way I was going to continue eating them. Even my dog didn't even want to try a bite. She just took one sniff and looked at me like, nah, I'm good. I placed a delivery order through Uber eats- the order was for a chicken salad sandwich and half a dozen (stale, hard) donuts and it took an hour and a half to arrive. I love Donut King in the afternoons for all kinds of savory sandwiches and desserts. But there's nothing better than a Donut King donut and a hot cup of coffee, any time of day. If you don't mind an upcharge, come to this spot for a simple lunch and a tasty treat. Donuts are priced at $1.50. But if you get crème filled there's an additional charge. It's a little silly in my opinion. I suppose it's hard to be in the restaurant business these days. I did have a good small Turkey sandwich for around $8 (the upcharge for cheese makes sense here) and was able to sit and eat inside in the peaceful /empty tables. We walked in around 2pm so after the lunch rush. and there weren't any other customers. Sadly, customer service wasn't too friendly. We walked in and said hi to the person behind the counter and there was no acknowledgement or response. He wasn't too helpful either. When we asked about the donuts, we could barely hear or understand what he was saying. It could have been the mask, or the layer of plexiglass, or the blaring music, or or it could have just been him or all of the above. We ordered one maple and one chocolate icing with sprinkles. The maple only tasted sweet so didn't taste any maple flavor. The chocolate icing did taste like chocolate. They really didn't taste very fresh or fluffy. The aftertaste wasn't too pleasant either. This place is also a deli with hot and cold dishes including salads, burgers, and sandwiches. But after the lackluster non-existent customer service, I doubt we'll return. read more

Tried the honey dipped (regular glazed) & french cruller donuts are they are okay.. no wow factor and nothing special. Taste reminds me of those donuts you buy at the grocery store. The bagels and donuts are good. But the staff needs some help in the customer services are - I ordered an ICED coffee. They gave me a hot coffee, no biggie mistakes happen. When I brought up that I ordered ICED. The cashier started arguing with me saying I ordered hot coffee. I didn't but I wasn't going to fuss over her. They "remade" the drink by pouring the hot coffee into a cup and throwing in a couple ice cubes leaving the coffee tepid, not cold. If it wasn't for the attitude I got, I would let the experience go. So many options so little room in my belly! They make some of the biggest almond croissants I have ever had. Be aware its cramped and can get busy but its well worth it!
