A Bubble tea spot in Wheaton -not the best compared to other Local Bubble tea places. More syrupy than the others.

I love their fresh fruit, for which is what Hey Tea is known for. I also really like how you can personalize your drink. I like mine with less ice and 80 percent sugar. It comes out perfect every time. Service is great and they are always so nice. They are usually working hard, it is always packed with customers. The ambiance is definitely Japanese styling in beige with minimal colors. So, if you are feeling like a treat, head over to Hey Tea and enjoy the taste!

From what I see on the app, there have been a lot of sales, which is always a plus side. You can either be greedy or give the other to someone else. The only downside is that the shop is a little small and cramped a good majority of the time, especially evenings. Sometimes this makes wait times a little longer than usual, so it gets a little frustrating. It can get a little discombobulating, which one is a line or which one is a Also, I noticed that online orders seem to get prioritized often in the queue (based on observation with the numbering system), but I can be wrong. Parking can be stressful, because it is always packed at this shopping center, making it difficult to get in and out easily.

Representing 2020 in alphabet series, K is for Kokee Tea. I first had Kokee Tea at Fair Oaks Mall…read moreof all places a few years earlier and remembered it was way better than Kung Fu Tea. I had it a couple of times in Wheaton Mall when I lived in Wheaton. One of the times that was noteworthy was in January 2020. I was in the office that morning in Columbia, and my girlfriend of that time had called or texted saying that she was really sick, she was struggling breathing, and to take her to the doctor. I'm like I'm at work, but I have Montgomery County (Rockville) work travel I happened to be able to do this afternoon. So, I can swing by Wheaton to pick her up to go to an urgent care by the mall. I waited with her at urgent care. The doctor gave her pills or something and commented that it's been a particularly bad winter with bad colds that have come in. Afterward, we went to the mall to get a bubble tea at Kokee Tea & maybe eat lunch too in the mall. We enjoyed the Kokee Tea. Staff is nice & efficient, prices are comparable to Kung Fu Tea, but better quality in my opinion. We didn't realize it at the time, my girlfriend likely had Covid, which wasn't diagnosed in the US until late February 2020. Her work was interesting. In early January, they had people who had work travel in the office from China. Her work was furloughed not long after that. Then, she had symptoms of Covid not long after that. Anyway, it was an interesting time. If in Wheaton Mall, I'd be back at Kokee.

I've tried the Columbia location which is a brick and motar. I got the brown sugar milk tea with boba (of course). They don't do different sizes which is fine because this standard size was perfect. They took over the "King Pollo" restaurant so the sign was still outside. However, the Kung Fu Tea sign was shown throughout the exterior window. Glad I saw the open sign so I know it was open. Finally, another bubble tea option in the Wheaton area. This spot is located in the same shopping center as H-mart and a great way to grab a drink after doing your errands. There are a few tables inside where you can sit while consuming your drinks. The place inside is fairly large. The staff here are very friendly and looks very clean. They serve the same drinks as other KFT locations which is great. Highly recommend their milk teas and their smoothies. They also serve cold and hot drinks. Looking forward to visiting this spot again. Great addition to the Wheaton area!!

Came here for the first time on a weekend with my husband and another couple of friends. We…read moreordered their milk tea with bubbles and my husband ordered a fruit slush with red beans. What's hot - Location. Conveniently located in a plaza with an Hmart, other shops and restaurants. That also means there's parking. - Indoor seating. There is an indoor seating area with a decent number of tables and chairs, which is helpful, especially if you're eating. - Menu includes food. Most Kung Fu Tea locations I've been to don't offer food, but this location does, including dim sum, noodles, and poke bowls. Nice to have. - Price. For two drinks (one large and one medium), we paid approximately less than $20, so not bad. However, read below... What's not - Bubbles/tapioca is too sweet. I asked for my bubble tea to not be sweet, but that's not what I got. Rather, there was syrup at the bottom of my cup and the bubbles are already very sweet. That tells me they boil their tapioca in sugar water, which I'm not a fan of. One of our friends had to go back and ask them to remake her drink, because it was too sweet. Because they boil their tapioca in sugar water, my friend also asked them to use herbal jelly, rather than tapioca pearls in her new drink. As such, the quality of their drinks is lacking. Price for value isn't a good trade off. - Full menu isn't available. Their full drinks menu isn't available. Rather, you have to scan their QR code to access their full menu. - Ambient noise. They play loud music inside. While it's cool to listen to music to jam to, if it's too loud, it's difficult to have a conversation with whoever you're with. Not to mention, at some point, it can get to a point where it's too loud and hurts your ears. - Food menu. Given that the quality of their bubble tea is lacking, which is their staple feature, it makes me hesitant to try the other foods on their menu, because I question their quality. Final Answer Not on my list of bubble tea places to return to.

It's not as cozy and cute as the College Park location, but still spacious. I recommend order the egg waffle or other food item ahead since it takes 15 minutes. You can do at the kiosk or on the app/online. My favorite is the egg tart one!! I usually get Signature HK or Sweet Velvet Milk Tea. They come in this nice glass bottle if you don't get topping! Other items I have enjoyed are the Pineapple Bun, Curry Fish Balls, and Coconut Milk Series. I definitely want to try more of the savory food items next time!

Tables not cleaned and most uneven and wonky. Just one sad front of house employee working that I saw just getting through the orders that are self order. This place has zero ambiance. I went to the bathroom and toilet tissue was nearly out and there was no way to even get anyone's attention to attend to that. Employee just kept their head down working. Food- drinks were great. My favorite is the watermelon coconut jelly. We had the pork chop pineapple bun. This is still a good sandwich. Tastes like they used to make it. Juicy pork chop, sweet pineapple bun. The construction of the sandwich leaves much to be desired because all the wet veggie ingredients slide the entire sandwich. Once you start eating, you should not put this sandwich down or it will come apart. They should put the sandwich in a sleeve. We ordered the fried chicken bento box. This bento has changed a bit from their previous version. With the new paper packaging, there are less compartments for goodies. The fried chicken recipe is different as all the batter fell off the chicken and was just a mess. There was close to zero pickles greens. With the dish which I feel brings this kind of bento together. Conclusion is food is decent, ambiance sucks. Would order to go from here but any fried food from here will be a disaster after you get it home. Had high hopes as I loved the previous location's food. Now being able to "look behind the curtain" and see how everything is made, I kind of feel question the cleanliness of this place.

The first bite was a bit of a shock to the system. It's one of those rare "Ratatouille moments" where a flavor profile manages to bridge the gap between Maryland and the legendary sponge cakes of Phoenix Bakery in LA. It's a bit of a trick, really--making something taste like a childhood memory without being cloying about it. The Breakdown: * The Sponge: It's exceptionally light. Biting into it is less like eating a dense dessert and more like biting into a sweetened, high-end pillow. It's airy, delicate, and possesses the kind of structural integrity that only a professional (or a wizard) could manage. * The Icing: A triumph of restraint. Instead of the usual sugary plaster one finds elsewhere, this is a light, white cream. It's sweet enough to let you know it's there, but it doesn't try to dominate the conversation. It's icing with a bit of dignity. * The Verdict: This is how cake ought to be. It's exquisite, technically brilliant, and far too easy to eat in a single sitting. If you appreciate a dessert that relies on craft rather than a massive dose of corn syrup, do yourself a favor and stop by. It's a legit bit of baking excellence right here in Silver Spring

The cheese and pork sung bun I had this last time didn't really have any flavor - normally pork sung is really flavorful, so I was surprised. It was also a bit dry.
