The tea flavor was underwhelmingly weak and I wasn't a fan. The tapioca was fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, one of my friends got their JAPANESE ROASTED MILK TEA which was really good. The tea was strong and I think the roasted option is the way to go. If I ever come back, I'm getting this one for sure. My drink was a 3/5 but my friend's was a 5/5. There's also a good amount of seating here and we enjoyed playing Connect 4 while drinking our boba. They told me that three of their teas had taro, so I ordered the brown sugar taro tea. Now, usually you can taste taro throughout the tea. But, in this case, it was a strong brown sugar taste. It also had little pieces of an ingredient throughout the tea. I think that this was a powdered taro. I now know that I prefer having the taro taste throughout the tea. The place was cute and had some games for the little ones to play with. My tea was good, but definitely different from what I expected. Service was pleasant and quick. We were looking for a place to grab boba while we were waiting to pick up food and we stumbled upon this place. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. Lots of people waiting for orders. The shop itself is not very big but its decorated nicely and has some good seating. They have a pretty good sized menu so it was hard to decide what to get. My fiancé picked the Roasted Brown Sugar Pearl Yam Milk Tea and I got the Roasted Brown Sugar Pearl Milk Tea (both at 50% sugar). It took a second to come out but it made sense because again it was packed. Very good drinks. Definitely was the perfect sweetness for us. The pearls were warm and fresh, great chew to them. The brown sugar flavor for mine was strong but again not too sweet. The Yam flavor really came through here and wasn't subtle like in other boba shops. They actually put avocado bits into the drink. It was buttery and tart and sweet at the same time. Love love love the layers of flavor. In the strawberry drink, they had real bits of strawberry too. I was really excited to try out this new boba shop in Rockville. I ordered the Roasted Brown Sugar Milk Tea which came with boba. The drink was good, creamy and sweet. I really liked the chewy texture of the boba. I also loved the little cup it came with! The shop is pretty spacious inside with plenty of seating. I wish they had music playing in the background though. The workers are friendly as well. Unfortunately, their credit card machine wasn't working when I was there. Super cute boba place! It just opened, so it was a bit more crowded then I had hoped, which unfortunately made service a bit slower. The bear themed cup lids and aesthetic make up for it though :) The Shooting Star drink was bear-y pretty, and I haven't really tasted anything like it before! The Fruity Party drink truly was a party of fruit, giving hints of orange and mango which was quite refreshing. I opted for the classic brown sugar milk tea with bubbles and the taro fresh milk with mini sago and rice (this one is made this way). I would definitely recommend that you lower the sugar if you like your drinks on the less sweet side. I got the brown sugar with 50% sweetness and it was quite sweet. I imagine it was because of the additional brown sugar syrup. The bubbles were soft and chewy though and I loved the packaging! When my drink finally arrived, it was missing about 10% of its volume. The manager explained that my "no ice, no cream" customization caused this, and he refused to fill the drink to the top--citing "measurement standards" and claiming it would take two hours to make more tea. As a paying customer, I found this response unacceptable. Other chains, like Starbucks, handle "no ice" requests with better customer service by either explaining potential volume discrepancies upfront or ensuring the drink is filled to the top.
