This is one of Rockville's hottest spots on a Saturday night, and they close at 9:30pm! Despite the heavy demand, the HeyTea staff has the service down cold. It's factory with how many drink orders they can churn out! They were very helpful in picking out a drink. I ended up getting the special Cloud Green Grape on a cold night and it was very refreshing. The cloud is cheese foam on top. You might think that is strange to add on a grape drink, but I believe the creaminess helped provide a little milky texture that made it even better. It's an icy drink on the bottom, but the melt over time does not water down the drink so the taste stays mostly consistent. There are real pieces of green grape, so make sure to get a wide straw! I've also gotten the Mango Boom at a New York location and it was fantastic. This place has plenty of tables inside, but when it's crowded and you have a big group it could be difficult to grab a seat. It's a cute little tea shop with limited seating for maybe around 15 or 20. I ordered the mango grapefruit boom. I was more curious about the yum berry but they said they ran out of it for the day. Just my luck. The mango grapefruit boom was a good slush like drink. There were also chunks of real grapefruit and mango which I absolutely love. It had a very creamy texture which was quite nice. Not gonna lie, seeing that huge line out the door on IG when HeyTea Rockville first opened did scare me a bit. But luckily on a Saturday evening around 6:30 pm there was no line outside! Yes, there were still about 87 people working behind the counter making drinks. Not sure why it still took us 15 min to get ours though. I think it was hard to hear the girl who was calling out numbers because there were a million drinks on the counter but no one was picking them up. After about 15 min I heard the number before mine was called, and then the next two numbers were ones after mine, so I decided to go up and show them my receipt and low and behold, both of our drinks were just sitting there. Coconut Mango Boom: Not sure what the "boom" is, but this is pretty much HeyTea version of the mango sago (if you know from YiFang), but I liked this better! Very mangoey, and full of real mango pieces. Not too creamy either. Would definitely recommend. Got with less sugar and less ice. Cloud Coconut Blue: Unfortunately couldn't get this with less sugar, the only options were regular vs no sugar. I asked if the "no sugar" option would be sweet and was told "a little bit" but the answer is really no, it's not sweet. The only saving point of this was the coconut cream on top but otherwise, this tasted like a bland watered-down spirulina. If we go again probably wouldn't order anything else besides their mango drinks since those seem to be the most popular. Also, on the day we went the AC appeared to be broken so the ceiling was dripping near the door and the place had a moist humid feel to it and a weird "wet" smell. I think we found our favorite boba place! Located in Rockville in the same plaza as halal guys, we heard about the opening and the long lines. When we went it was busy but empty enough for quick service. We got their signature brown milk boba and mango cloud. Let's start with the interior. It looks like a minimalist's Asian inspired dream. Very chill, white interior and really nice. There are giant test tubes with teas in it and it looks pretty cool. The drinks, while we got minimum sweet, was still sweet.
