My friends did like their drinks, but one did say the fresh taro in the taro crème brûlée milk tea was a bit more grainy than what he'd had before at another milk tea place. We all really liked the popcorn chicken. The breading was light and crispy, the chicken was hot and juicy, and the spicy seasoning had a good kick and flavor to it. They have many ways to customize your drink, I like all the different toppings that they offer that you normally dont see at boba places. I don't know how I missed this place for so long. It's one of my favorite bubble tea stores in the area with the brown sugar is irresistable. I've been trying out new toppings too so it was great to see that red bean is an option. The takoyaki was yummy and a nice addition to the menu. The best way for me is to get this beverage with less ice but full sugar. They let me know that by reducing the sugar in this drink it has less flavor, which makes sense because its the brown sugar milk tea! read more

I got 70% sweet and light ice and that was still fairly sweet for my taste, but glad I could taste the actual tea flavor (yes! Wow!!! A bubble tea place in Gaithersburg that is open with good hours of operation!!!! They are doing a soft opening so it's not officially broadcasted to the public. Lol the decor is so cute inside! Little girls would love coming here for sure. Their menu options are great!!! They have so many options for you to choose from! This is a great Vivi location! The bubble teas here are good! I love the classic green tea or oolong with tapioca, aloe and herbal jelly! They have a great fruit tea selection, but most can't be made less sweet so I stick to classic. The popcorn chicken here is delicious! Perfect texture. Seasoned well. And always piping hot! Not the best in terms of bubble tea, but I do like the fact that they carry some unique flavors that you just don't see anywhere else. The location isn't that great. It is near an H Mart and they have food places nearby and I guess there isn't a bubble tea place in the immediate area, so this one ends of being quite convenient when you need to run errands and you are in the area. It is a bit separated from the rest of the strip mall, so you would have to end up parking closer to them for it to be convenient. It isn't a large place, but if you are aiming for takeout, it doesn't need to be a large place. What really matters is the bubble tea. The issue I had was that at the time that I came here, the bubbles just was not freshly made. It seemed to be more of an afterthought and they wanted you to be amazed by the juice flavorings and their concoctions. However, taken as a whole, it was overly sweet for me and the middle of the bubbles were hard and the outer rim lost its chewiness. If you have ever been to the Asia Taste in Rockville or Jumbo Jumbo in Germantown you will like this spot! Vivi feels like a very standard boba spot, if anything I feel like it's a solid consideration to be a default staple place the same way I'd consider Kung Fu Tea to be a default staple that serves as a baseline for a minimum expectation of boba. That mostly summarizes how good Vivi is, it is by every means a good and solid boba shop and everything is done right and well. It just simply hits the basic standard across all it's drinks and even it's stand-out flavor options such as the Creme Brulees I feel are all done better at places that do it more as a niche specialty. Vivi is great and you can't go wrong with coming here, in fact I'd even recommend you to. Just know that if you're looking for a more unique experience that isn't just your standard good tasting boba you'll probably want to consider another place and come back to Vivi when you want a classic. read more

Every time I come to this location, I'm always disappointed compared to any other Vivis I've been to... Due to COVID, most restaurants and food places have raised their prices and this location is no different (which is totally fine!) However, the least they could do after upcharging is to give you what you pay for. Every time I order from this location, there's always a huge gap between my drink and the top of the cup -- AKA: they never fill their drinks all the way. Not only that, but I pay an extra $1 for taro purée topping and they only put a tiny bit at the bottom of the cup (about 1cm worth) which is a total rip off. I've gotten the same order at other vivis and they have given at least 4x the amount. The same thing happened when I paid an extra $1 for milk foam topping. TLDR: this location sucks, upped their prices and decreased the amount of drink/topping you receive Btw: don't even get me started on the fact that they've severely shrunk the size of their cups but INCREASED their prices LOL??? read more

I went here yesterday and I have to say that I'm changing my review, I can say the quality of the food and drinks is good but be aware that the large cold drink cups are so skinny they don't fit inside any car cup holder unless your blessed with a super deep cup holder. I got a large milk tea with pudding topping and an order of takoyaki which is a little over 12 dollars.. I went to my car and put the drink in my cup holder and as soon as I move the car, without touching the cup at all, my drink FELL and spilled ALL over my car!! I didn't even get to take the first sip! I'm lucky I have a boyfriend that loves me enough to reorder my drink while I cleaned my car. We were literally holding the drink in place as I drove scared it'll spill again. Now I have to go to the car wash in hopes to get this mess out of my car. I'd suggest changing the large cups so they're a normal size instead of skinny to fit inside all cup holders for the future. That way your customers that drive won't spill their drink while driving. This franchise won't remake a drink someone just bought and spilled, it's sad because I've been places that do this if you come back in less than 5 minutes.
