I checked out their new bread atelier campaign and loved everything I tried The matcha tiramisu latte and lychee dragonfruit iced tea were also good drinks as well!
Cute bakery with a big interior with seating inside and 2 bathrooms. Parking is available in the back. Lot of bakery selections available. It was nice they also have salty food like the curry in addition to bakery bread and dessert. Got the magnolia tea and jasmine tea which both were really good. I liked how they have a no ice option. The egg tarts were nice and soft on the inside. The curry was ok and the fruit bread was a bit hard, but overall a good experience.
Love the little bread mirror they have set up near the front, it's very cute! They have seatings scattered around and the set up is like a typical asian bakery where you can grab your items but I was primarily here to try their tea since I love boba and if they call themselves teamania I hope that means its great. White Magnolia Milk Tea - Floral without being perfumey or too sharp! Pretty good balance of tea to milk ratio and reminds me of molly tea. 4/5 Jasmine Milk Tea - honestly pretty good too. feels like a molly tea knock off with the menu offerings, cup designs and even flavor profile. its slightly too sharp but still good. 3.75/5 Da Hong Pao Milk Tea - the tea flavor is there but it doesn't mix as well as the magnolia or jasmine. I think they are better at more floral teas but this wasnt bad. 2/5 Banana Pudding Matcha - Banana flavor was not strong, it was not sweet when it should have definitely been more sweet and the flavors just didnt mix very well 0.5/5 Portugese Tart - pretty good but nothing too memorable 2.75/5
Teamania, an Asian bakery & cafe in Rockville, MD is a haven for hipsters, coffee & tea drinkers and those who like to indulge is both sweet and savory baked goods. The warm industrial interior offers a good amount of seating at tables, booths and plush chairs. When you enter the cafe, you are immediately greeted by cases of baked goods. As you move forward, you can order a drink. I visited on a busy Saturday, unfortunately. The cases of baked goods had not been replenished, the water container was empty and the napkin dispenser was bare. At one point, the staff making the drinks just stopped calling out customers' names, so you basically had to either stand at the pick up area or watch it from your seat in the dining area. My matcha latte was okay, but my husband's strawberry peach lime iced tea was delicious! It also came in a reusable cup, which is a plus. I had a glazed cronut (a croissant/donut mashup) that was good, but the amount of grease that soaked into the paper plate and napkins turned my stomach and made me not want to ever eat another. I would suggest visiting on a weekday, if possible, because weekends are just too busy and the staff are pulled in too many directions.
It located off the Rollins Ave, at the corner of the alley going into the Federal Plaza, across from the Qdoba parking lots. There were a few indoor seating tables. The bakery items were displayed on racks and shelves. Waiting two or so minutes to receive attention. The lighting was good, since it sat at the corner. Was shopping the discount items within an hour from their closing. However, choices were very limited on this particular day.
I used the TooGoodToGo app to order Teamania and it was ok for what I paid for it. But I can't lie, I was extremely disappointed in the presentation. They literally just threw a bunch of stuff in the bags so I had no clue what was what. And the whipped cream was all over the place. The establishment is very cute and picture worthy. The service was nice and quick. I will try it again, but next time I'll just order and eat there.
I needed a place to do some work until my hotel opened before a conference. Teamania was conveniently located so I spent a whole afternoon there. The desserts were delicious and beautiful. I was there long enough to have two different drinks. The lighting, music, and overall ambiance was perfect for work. It was quiet enough for focused work, but comfy and energizing. Service was great as well. They brought the tea out to my table when it was ready. Overall teamania was a great experience. Very cute cafe with beautiful and delicious pastries, and a great atmosphere to spend a few hours.

I was visiting the area the night before and found this cafe while searching for lunch breakfast locations. I saw the souffle pancakes and immediately wanted to try them. The cafe was very cute, clean and spacious. I went to counter to order the pancakes since they took about 25 minutes to make. While I waited, I observed the pastries on display and they all looked delicious. I also ordered a brown sugar boba milk tea and it was very refreshing. Since I ordered the pancakes to-go, the cashier bought my order to me when it was ready. Since the order included ice cream, I wanted to remove it from the pancakes once I got to the car. Upon looking at the pancakes, I noticed they were burnt (not pictured). I took the order back inside and the cashier apologized. Since I didn't want to wait again, she offered me a refund or pastries as a replacement. I decided to get the pastries. Overall, I was disappointed that I wasn't able to try to the pancakes but the customer service was appreciated.
Came during HookTea launch weekend for BOGO drinks! Not sure what HookTea is, but the flavors were pretty unique - I got the White Magnolia Milk Tea, but there was also a Gardenia Milk Tea, Peach Milk Tea, Apple Milk Tea, Da Hong Pao (which I was told was like an oolong). Also got a couple pastries to try. White Magnolia Milk Tea: Got this at 50%, wish they allowed ice adjustment. The tea was definitely sweet enough, and very floral tasting. Matcha Red Bean Bun: Didn't like the cream cheese filling in this, didn't say it at cream cheese on the sign either. Didn't taste any matcha, but the bun itself was pretty fluffy (fluffier than it looked, anyway). Taro Crossaint: Not taro, and the taro filling wasn't super sweet. Wish they refilled the more popular pastries - I had my eyes on a pistachio cream donut for a while but it wasn't refilled during the 45 mins I sat there. Overall, a great variety of pastries and cakes, and it's a cute place to hang out with friends! Would give it a 3.5.
I think teamania has def been a fav around the area. This weekend is the launch of new arrival Hook Teas and have the BoGo promo. So of course a must visit. Ordered Jasmine Snowy & Da Hong Pao (hot) , both were delicious! Honestly can't decide which is my fav! I've also tried white magnolia which was very subtle and soft on the palette. So yeah there's one for everybody! Plenty of bakery goods and cakes to pair with and place can get packed so seating first come first serve. Go try their teas. If you were in luck & pre-ordered the HookTea deals before, starting 12/8 you'll be able to use them! Happy drinking, yelpies!
Overall: I think Teamania is one of those places that you come to for the vibe and to take pictures. The interior is really nice and the food looks great, but wouldn't place it above other similar stores in terms of taste. Food: In my opinion the bread here was pretty normal. Nothing in particular stood out, but there also wasn't anything wrong with it. I tried several different types and a souffle pancake. I think the food was more so esthetic than it was tasty. Service: Standard service for a bakery, pick your own bread and then bring it to the front to purchase. Ambiance: I think the ambiance of the place is great, plenty of room and seating. The interior is also really well lit and has access to a lot of windows.
Came here specifically to try their egg tarts and we were not disappointed! They had several different kinds and I equally like their Portuguese and Hong Kong egg tarts. They have a nice clean bakery with plenty of seating. And they also sell some tasty drinks. Definitely a must-stop for your sweet cravings.

This is one of the little Cafe near by the hotel we stayed when we went to Maryland recently. The place is pretty cute, bright and airy. Some seatings were comfy (the ones in the back) and the others was a bit hard. Most of the pastries are in the middle with sweet ones on one side and savoys on the other. The price was really reasonable. I saw so many savoy ones I would love to try if I ever visit at BF time. I saw they have Cronut (Croissant and Donut in one). I had had Cronut in Vegas (at the Paris Hotel), but the ones here looked a little different so I wanted to try. Mistake. It was extremely greasy. The oil soaked through the paper plate and I had to squeeze the pieces I cut with napkins to get as much oil out as possible. I would give it a 2 star, it would have been good if not so oily. The egg tarts on the other hand deserved a 5 star. Love it. The latte tasted fine, but it took them a while to make it (almost 10 mins) and served in the normal paper cup, I was hoping for a nice latte art since it took so long. Overall it is a wonderful place to sit around and enjoy some quiet time, just don't get the cronut unless they cut down on the oil... read more

We stopped by for a drink and some baked goodies. The breads they sell are all so big and aesthetically beautiful. I got the Vietnamese coffee and really enjoyed it - strong coffee and perfect sweet taste. The price wasn't too bad either. My friend got a fruit cake slice and a pineapple bun. As an avid bread eater, she was happy with both. The service left a little to be desired. I don't expect super smiley service or anything, but the cashier seemed impatient while taking our very short order and kinda smooshed the fruit cake my friend picked out while boxing it up and didn't say anything. The bakers you can see through the window did not look like they wanted to be there. It sounds like what we I felt isn't a common experience, so this might have been a one off. We went here to try the tarts and we were a big fan! The Hong Kong one, Portuguese, & coconut ones were all lovely! The first one was eggy, while the second one was custardy, and the last one had an amazing texture & toasted coconut taste. The tiramisu matcha latte was alright not the biggest fan since it was just super milky and didn't taste like tiramisu. Would go back for other pastries tho! read more

Very beautiful interior and delicious matcha milk tea and pastry (I had a coconut tart). Medium price, but check in on Yelp and get a very good discount!! All of the pastries are delicious, and I especially like their bao buns. I got their pork belly and peking duck buns and really enjoyed both. I like that there is a microwave where you can warm up the pastries that you collect. Nice place to hang out - lots of seating but can get busy, then you might be out of a seat. Service has always been nice. read more

Very cute cafe featuring coffee, teas, pastries and cakes! It was super busy on a Saturday morning. I ordered a vanilla latte to go and the wait took about 10 minutes. The drink was ok but could have been a bit hotter. I would visit again to try other menu items. Service was good. Parking is available at the back of the building. Definitely a good option for a date, hanging with friends or working. read more

I really wanted a chance to visit this place after so many viral videos about the soufflé pancakes and other treats. The food, service and parking were great! The pancakes do take about 20-30 minutes to make and this is communicated when ordering. They are very eggy (the taste) so it's really a matter of personal palate/preference. We tried the sparkling mango tea, super refreshing and yummy! My family also tried other pastries both savory and sweet. Unfortunately there was also no boba for one or more of the teas we initially wanted. Service was great, everyone I spoke to was super friendly! Here's the issue for me: We had nowhere to sit. There were at least 4 family size tables being used by a single person using a laptop. I'm all for going to a cute cafe and working there! I'm glad there are places for people to do this. It would be nice if there were smaller/one person tables for these sort of patrons, or a time limit. I arrived with my family (5 of us total), nowhere to sit. I will still come visit and try other items, just not plan to stay. read more

Honestly, such a mediocre experience. I am not quite sure what kind of bakery this is because it's a little Asian, but feels like it could be European? The coffee here was average at best and all of the pastries maybe because we went later in the day were on the dry side. Also, this place is called tea mania but all the teas come in bags like generic grocery store teas. There's not a pot in sight. That said it's a pretty cute space inside with Clock showing different time zones and comfortable seating. I was there on a Friday and there were lots of people working. There's so many other bakeries you can go to in my opinion, and definitely other coffee shops. read more
Great Asian (Korean) bakery in Rockville! I've noticed this place for a long time but never had the chance to stop by after shopping at Trader Joe's in Federal Plaza--until now. There's parking right next to the café, which made it easy to pop in. The space is charming, spacious, and relatively quiet even thoughts the place faces to a busy road. They offer a wide variety of baked goods, cakes, and drinks. We browsed around, picked up a light cheesecake, curry bread, chocolate cream bread, and ordered two drinks. Prices are fair, especially considering the location, the current economy, and the quality of the food. The light cheesecake was airy with a subtle sweetness although I personally would've liked a touch of citrus, like lemon, to brighten the flavor. The curry bread was a little oily but very satisfying. Both the matcha boba and sparkling drink were refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day. Staff were friendly and efficient. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their baked goodies! read more

12.13.24 Tried the Taro Meats Coconut bun. The bun itself was delightful, but I didn't like the taro. It had chunks of it and I would have preferred it to be a paste or purée which is what I was expecting. Picked up a Portuguese and Hong Kong Egg Tart. He loved them both equally and couldn't decide which one he preferred. read more

I came here to check out the giggly pancakes. I was not disappointed. They looked great and tasted great as well. One thing to note is that the different flavors are in the ice cream that come with the pancakes and not the actual pancakes. I wonder if you can just order the different ice cream instead of a whole set of pancakes. The server messed up our order serving us hot coffee instead of iced coffee as well as two vanilla pancakes vs one that was supposed to be strawberry (how we found out the pancakes were not different flavors, just the ice cream). That being said he quickly course corrected and everything went smooth after. I really enjoyed my time here. This place gives me the local coffee pastry shop vibe you could probably spend lots of time here reading books. read more

EXCELLENT SPOT FOR TEA, PASTIES AND COFFEE! Teamania is on Rollins Ave, super close to the firehouse and post office. The various savory and sweet pastries are beautiful and on well-lit display. You choose your own pastries with a golden tong. I recommend going with a friend and sharing a wide array of various goodies. For drinks we tried: strawberry matcha, Vietnamese coffee, decaf vanilla latte. My favorite was the strawberry matcha. For food we tried: Portuguese egg tart, peach cloud donut, little bear pastry, cheese dog danish, pork steam bun, and Japanese soufflé combo 2 (matcha cream + pistachio ice cream). For food, my favorites were the cheese dog danish (perfect mix of savory and sweet, loved despite not being a hot dog person) and the peach cloud donut. Teamania is also a lovely space to work, with free parking, strong wifi, and lots of seating. Will be back soon! EDITED: stayed and worked so long we got more -- another cheese dog danish, shredded pork onion bun, and mango cloud cake slice, all delicious but cheese dog danish remained my top favorite. read more
The ambiance is great and busy. The service is super friendly. I didn't get the cashier's name but he's bubbly and very nice. His attitude will definitely bring a smile to your face. Prices are decent compared to other bakeries but overall quality of deserts/breads seems to be a bit disappointing. Matcha cream cheese bread: 3/5, I expected more cream cheese. Overall was okay. German butter cream bread: 3/5, this bread did not have a lot of cream filling. The cream did taste like more of a butter filling than whipped cream but overall seemed like it needed more filling. Japanese custard donut: 4/5 good sweet yellow custard filling. Artichoke tuna bread: 4/5 seems like there was more artichoke than tuna. Creamy filling but overall just okay. Overall, I expected more filling for all breads I tried. I would even be willing to pay extra for more filling. read more
Came here to try the Japanese pancakes. They were super light and fluffy and had ice cream on the side with some fruit as well as a cream to pour on top. It was a LOT of sugar. I probably should have gotten a coffee or chai with it but instead I got the ocean drink. The drink is surprisingly sour. You can choose your sugar level. I got regular because I usually don't like sweet drinks, but it could have used a little more sweet. We also got the duck meat sandwich which was yummy but difficult to eat. I think I'll try the pork belly next time. My husband got the coconut latte which didn't really taste like coconut at all it just tasted like a coffee latte. The service was good the cashier was really friendly. It seems like a hang out spot for people too study and do work as well as a nice community space to meet up with friends. Wow this place is so cute and so dateable. Good breads and a huge range for it. The souffle pancake is delicious so fluffy and so fresh but will note that it took like almost an hour for it to come out. Only come if you know you have the time for it. read more

My friend and I stopped by this past Saturday afternoon before our dinner plans nearby! Teamania is pretty cute with lots of good milk tea/coffee/regular tea options along with a selection of Chinese inspired pastries. You have the classics like pineapple bun and egg tarts, but there's also a lot of cream based buns that have a more modern twist. EGG TART - 2.75 I got both Portuguese egg tart and HK style egg tart, so I'll do a comparison. The Portuguese egg tart had that nice and crispy sugar crust on top of the buttery soft and silky custard. The custard was perfectly creamy and sweet, with a slight edge of savory from the butter (probably). The HK egg tart paled in comparison. While both egg tart crusts were on the stale/soggy side (probably because I was eating this hours after it was freshly baked), the custard of the HK egg tart wasn't as good. Overall, I definitely preferred the Portuguese egg tart! ORIGINAL MILK TEA (CHILLED) I forgot the price of this but it was around $5. The milk tea was good and you can customize the sugar level here. I asked for less sugar. Upon first sip, I found that it was much too sweet. However, I realized there was a layer of syrup on the bottom and they didn't mix it well. I would recommend giving it a thorough shake before popping a straw through the seal. It was an enjoyable drink that went well with my desserts, haha. My friend got the strawberry peach tea slush, which tasted like a fruity and carbonated soda. I enjoyed the couple sips she let me have and we would recommend. The space inside has several tables meant for 2 along with a high top table that's large enough to fit 8 people or so. Since we went at a popular time, we were fortunate enough to find two seats next to each other on the high top. Overall, very nice interior, but it may be hard to find a seat. read more

A cool Asian bakery, possibly Korean, with delicious breads and pastries. I tried the Artichoke & Spinach bread, and a chocolate donut, both excellent. The Artichoke bread was crispy outside, tender and juicy inside, and the donut doughy and not too sweet. Coffee was great too. I will definitely return to try their pastries. read more
