Also got a pistachio eclair and cake along with matcha and chocolate croissant. The chicken salad sandwich and simple arugula salad were delicious. My daughter loved her chocolate eclair. Found out about this spot via IG. Their lattes looked great, so I had to check them out. We tried the strawberry matcha and pistachio cloud latte. Both were just okay, with the pistachio being better. I would have preferred some fresh mashed strawberry pieces in the strawberry matcha and the pistachio latte and a floral aftertaste. Both weren't bad, just not what I was expecting. Service was super friendly and the individual taking orders did a great job, especially since he was all by himself. This little bakery is absolutely lovely! The sandwiches and pastries all look scrumptious. I settled on a latte and a kouign-amann (which was delicious, btw), but I will definitely be back to try one of the sandwiches! The man who was there to greet me, Nicholas, was very kind and charming, and he told me all about the pastries and other food items they offer. He was very polite and kind to all the other patrons who arrived as well. I also saw a bookshelf with nice candles and other gifts available. Such a hidden gem. This bakery opened just a few months ago, so it still feels like a new discovery, and the owner is from France. The space itself is quite small, with only three tables available for dining in. When we arrived, two couples were already waiting, but the line moved quickly. The menu is surprisingly extensive for such a tiny shop, and I will definitely need to come back to try more items. You will find classic French viennoiseries like croissants and pain au raisin, along with savory options such as quiche and pretzel bun sandwiches, as well as pastries like cakes and eclairs. After browsing the display case, we chose the kouign amann, pistachio eclair, and a small latte. Prices felt very reasonable, especially considering the rising cost of quality baking ingredients. We ended up enjoying everything in our car. The kouign amann was beautifully caramelized, buttery, and lightly sweet, with dense, well defined layers that made it very satisfying. The pistachio eclair was outstanding. The choux pastry was evenly risen, light, and tender, while the pistachio filling was rich, creamy, and deeply nutty. The natural beige green color of the glaze and filling clearly suggested real pistachio paste rather than artificially colored commercial versions. The coffee itself was average, but it paired nicely with the pastries. Service was friendly and welcoming, and there was plenty of parking available in the lot. The flavors here instantly reminded me of my recent trip to France, and I am so glad I found this place. I will absolutely be back to try more items. read more

I decided to check out this spot after reading so many positive reviews. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Nick's (the owner) amazing smile and warmth. It's a quaint spot, there's not much seating available so I consider it more of a grab and go type of bakery. I ordered the quiche Lorraine, which came with an arugula side salad, the first one I received was burnt so I went back in and Nick was able to get me a new one. Whatever dressing they're using on that arugula salad is phenomenal, I'm usually not a fan of arugula, but the dressing made it sweet and appealing to me. Onto the quiche, I loved the flavor, it has nice big chunks of ham and a flaky crust, my only critique was that it was a tad bit salty. read more

If you want something that is truly authentic and different from the overly sugary pastry shops that have been popping up, this is the place to go. What a lovely surprise! I was on my way home and spotted Petit Delice. Petit Delice translated into English means small delight . It is a charming small bakery, cafe, and sandwich shop. The service was wonderful. The young lady who waited on me was as sweet as could be. They have a selection of coffees, sandwiches, croissants and macarons. And, let me tell you that passion fruit macaron was fabulous. The outside crust was delicate and crunchy. The inside was packed full with a delicious filling of passion fruit. The chocolate croissant I tasted was light, flaky and full of chocolate filling. The inside of the shop was lovely decorated on pinks and beiges. The seats looked really comfortable. The prices for the macarons were a little high, but definitely worth every penny. I enjoyed one of the best pecan pie slices and a great pumpkin chai latte this morning. This cafe is purely a boutique cafe nestled in a small shopping center in Rockville. I only found out about it from a friend who lives in the area. It's small and exquisite, and they have a decent selection of pastries and home made pies. There are only a handful of tables, and some of the tables are outside as well. I received great personal attention from the person working there. The pastries baked fresh every morning, and the latte that I had was also made fresh. read more

French patisserie recently opened up in Rockville with a cute ambiance and cozy vibes. This month they came out with spooky specialty drinks! Ordered Jack-o lantern latte which is caramel and marshmallow combined , which was tasty and cute! I stopped by on a Friday morning before work. I was greeted by the owner and he was very friendly. I chose the chocolate croissant and blueberry muffin. Both were so delicious! The croissant was perfectly flaky and a good amount of chocolate. The blueberry muffin was not too sweet and good flavor. I wish it had a little more blueberries, but so delicious despite wanting more blueberries. The cafe has a a few tables to enjoy what you end up purchasing as well. Owner, Nicolas, is so nice and always wants to know what he can do better. Food (sweet and savory) are all fantastic! Highly recommend the Tuna, chicken and ham and cheese pretzel baguettes. I am NOT a pretzel bun fan in the least but apparently that is the specialty of the owner's region of France. It's sooo good and I won't eat pretzel anywhere else. The croque monsieur is a must. For sweets: the almond croissant is their most popular. My favorite is the pineapple upside down cake (they call it the up and down cake lol). The pistachio ricotta cake is my 2nd favorite. We purchased a delicious quiche for part of our Easter meal (for the vegetarians in the family). It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We will definitely be purchasing more quiches. Easily the best croissants in the DMV and the macarons are actually delicious (usually macarons in the US taste like sugar and that's about it!). A hidden gem tucked across from the Beall Dawson house. It has a good range of open hours making it suitable for morning or afternoon coffee and treats. Baked goods are made on site and are generally very high quality. Illy brand coffee products are served and there are some French juice options as well. Three tables inside and two outside. The first thing you should know is that I have been three times since it has opened, which probably tells you as much about me as it does the bakery - lol. Thus far there are a long enough list of hits that this place is worth a fourth trip. Biggest hit for me is the chocolate almond croissant. Most offerings of this sort I've had are stiff and pleasant, but Petit Delice's version is flowing with almond paste, made with good chocolate, and very tasty even mid-afternoon. Plus, if you've never had a crunchy cinnamon roll before, they have a pumpkin offering right now. It's nothing like a Cinnabon, but it has a wonderful texture and tastes delicious. Also, I've never been a fan of macarons, but their salted caramel, lavender, and mango macarons have made me a believer. Every so often I get a food or a cuisine from trying the best version of it, and I had another moment here where I went "Oh, THAT'S why people like macarons." Finally, my wife is a big fan of raisin buns, and she thinks their version is the best she's ever had. She's also a fan of their bostock, which isn't on their current menu but will probably pop back up sometime. Bostocks are a little bit of an acquired taste, I think, but they're meaty, satisfying pastry, the sort of thing you could eat for breakfast and not be snacking by nine. There have been a few slight misses in my opinion. Their cannele is much lighter and less dense than the versions I'm used to. We've had better muffins, though they were good. Not every macaron was a bullseye. But overall, I would strongly recommend eating here. The food sounds epic, too - I haven't been for lunch yet but it's on my list of things to do. Go, and bring me a chocolate almond croissant and a salted caramel macaron. read more

This was my second visit in a week and, wow, I'm just as excited about Petit Delice as I was my first time. I was there just a little after 7:30 AM and had a freshly baked chocolate croissant with a cappuccino. A great little breakfast treat after my morning walk. As before, the service from the owner, Nicolas, was fast and friendly. Perhaps it's because he and I share the same first name, but I'm quite certain he's friendly with every customer. Next time I go, I'll try one of their sandwiches or quiche, and sit at one of the three tables they have inside. They also have a couple bistro tables outside. The almond croissants and the chocolat/almond croissants are absolutely amazing. The apple strudel is also very good. I brought a friend with me on my second visit and the almond croissants were fresh out of the oven a half hour before we arrived and we both thought they were the best we had ever eaten. My friend had a cappuccino and said that was also very good. We look forward to our next visit and bringing some of our other neighbors with us.
