We had been to this place for years but this is the first time I tried out their birthday cake & everyone was SO IMPRESSED with the design and taste of the cake. It was airy, scrumptious, not overly sweet or covered with heavy amount of cream. It was simply divine. Before you order the cake, check out their cake designs online. When you call in the order, they will ask which design you want (by a letter code shown on the pictures). You can select what type of cake base & filling. I decided to try out design G with Green Tea cake base & Chestnut fillings. The whole cake was covered with mangos, strawberries and blueberries. It was the best cake we ever ordered. I ordered thru the doordash app for pickup and it was ready for pickup rather quickly I did not like these pastries, the bread was dry and not moist on all of them, the Portuguese tart custard was not sweet and the crust around it was not crunchy just very plain no flavor of salty or sweetness. I was not also expecting how small it was smaller than the palm of my hand, could probably have eaten it in two bites if it was edible. I forgot about the egg and milk costs increasing and bought a couple of things on their grand reopening. Their offerings are pretty pricey and the prices add up. The grand reopening wasn't really a deal but I just wanted to check it out. I was shocked to learn that they are owned by the same owner as Teamania as this place was using similar decor and the same cups. There is very minimal seating so don't expect to stay too long. They do have a bathroom but you need a key. Their espresso machine is the Ninja machine which is a consumer grade machine. They were slammed with drink orders during their grand reopening and there were not a lot of space to stand waiting for drinks so I was outside waiting for my order to be called. read more

Shredded Pork Bun was nice in flavor, but a bit too much shredded pork and bread, to the point where it was quite dry to eat. It's a very small shop, so don't expect a lot of seating, it's more of a grab/pickup & go type place. Service is very friendly and accommodating though, speaking both English and Chinese. Stopped by Bread Corner on impulse when I saw a flyer on the door advertising 50% off of drinks (but today was the last day!!). I got two teas (Taro Milk and Peach Iced Tea) and they were delicious. There were so many bobas in each of the drinks. The drinks come in one size only. Summy, the employee working, was kind and patient. She answered questions about the drinks (I learned that low fat milk is used in the Milk Tea). The bakery is small, it doesn't offer any seating for dining in. There were many bakery items for sale: Milk Toast Bread, Regular Bread, Stuffed rolls and assorted buns. I'd like to visit again, especially if there is a sale! read more

One thing the DMV lacks is a really good Chinese bakery and this may be one of the better ones. However, not close to any in NY, Boston, or Philly Chinatown. But, they do have some stuff here. Everything was very fresh and with little competition, prices were inflationary. Tried a few buns, baked char siu, ham and cheese, and pork floss, and they had good fillings. A lowkey Asian bakery store hidden away next to a Popeyes. So glad that I found this place because it has some of the best Asian baked goods that I've had in a while. The store reminds me of when I was little, and how I would grab the tray and tongs and run around picking out my favorite breads to add to the ones my mom would buy. I came in in the afternoon yesterday, after stumbling upon it after leaving Tea Dynasty, and I noticed that most of their pastries have been sold out. However, I was still nostalgic and excited with what's left. I can tell this place is really popular amongst locals, so they're doing something right. I ended up getting two sponge cakes, a pineapple bun, and a roasted pork bun. I love that most of their pastries are individually wrapped, and if not, they do have tongs, trays and wax paper by the door for you to grab the items with. I'd recommend coming here early in the morning when they have everything, otherwise most items would be sold out for the day. It's definitely a game of finders keepers losers weepers, towards the end of the day. It's definitely a place I'd return to again, and I'd ensure I go early. I will never stop coming to bread corner. I have been coming here for the past 10 years and it is my favorite. It is mostly self-serve with tongs and a basket and the place is relatively small so it gets packed easily. I would recommend the Portuguese egg tart over the regular egg tarts because I like the crispier look at the top. Although the line is long, it moves fast. It may be a bit harder to find since it is tucked away, but it is a hidden gem! read more

I really like Bread Corner! This cute little Chinese/Hong Kong-style bakery offers various breads, cookies, pastries, and cakes. I tend to get the taro pastries and the egg tarts, but I am a fan of their pineapple short cakes - these little buttery bites are filled with pineapple jab - YUM! Service here is always super friendly and kind; it is a small place, so there may be a line outside where about 2 people are let in at a time. 11/18/21 My friend raved about this bakery a few weeks ago so I decided to stop by when I was in the area. Apparently they are known for their Portuguese Egg Tart. I hear you have to come early as they run out. I got one of those, a Coconut Tart, and a Roasted Pork Bun. They sell an assortment of pastries, cakes, cookies, loaves, bread, and fresh and frozen buns. It was my first time trying an Egg Tart and I wasn't fond of it. It tasted kind of bland and I didn't care for the texture. Surprisingly, my husband who I consider to be less adventurous and doesn't get excited about desserts liked the Egg Tart. On the other hand, I loved the Coconut Tart! It had flavor and the coconut gave it texture. The mini tarts were the perfect size for me. I've had better Roasted Pork Buns at other bakeries. The bun itself was fresh and tasty, however, I thought the filling was a bit dry. I would have liked more sauce in it. They participate in the Fivestars rewards app. My first reward offer is that I can get a free bubble tea with a $10+ purchase which expires in a week. My favorites were the Portuguese egg tart and coconut tart; I usually prefer the Portuguese egg tart over the regular egg tart. I really liked the garlic on the garlic cream cheese bun, however it didn't have much filling. The bun was split into 3 parts, and the middle had no filling while the other splits had little filling. Decent, up to date Hong Kong style bakery. I love how they have many pineapple bun options! As well as different types of Hong Kong style pastries and bread. I came here for eggtarts but I was too late, it was sold out (around 4pm) and I asked if they sell all of it everyday. She said it depends, so if I want it and can't come during the day, just give them a call to reserve some and tell them the estimate pick up time. Very nice! I got some pineapple buns (with custard and with Taro fillings), coconut tarts and portuguese egg tarts. ALL of them are so good! The Pineapple buns do have a big hollow area, but I think it is still worth the price especially they added well made and great tasting custards. I am for SURE coming back to try their egg tarts. I would also like to try their Taiwanese Taro cake and other traditional Chinese bake goods too! COVID19 procedure was done well. Small, cute and quiet bakery hidden away on the side of the Hungerford Giant shopping plaza (around the corner from Popeyes). The store is new and clean and the staff is very nice...and I really like the pretty trays and tongs for picking up the bakery items...all of the items are already individually wrapped but it's extra reassuring that everything is so safely presented and handled. The prices are very reasonable! A good sized crispy pineapple bun is about $2.50. The pineapple bun with taro is also highly recommended! read more

After having lunch nearby, we decided to check this place out since it had good reviews. Got some pineapple bread and some bread with custard cream inside. Also some green tea and taro pastries because they looked so pretty. Also a cheese tart. But none of the items I got blew me away. The custard cream in the bread was too thick for my liking and others were just meh. The cheese tart was decent but it wasn't the best I've had. At 4pm there was still 90% of fresh bread available. We drive by here weekly and glad we finally stopped in. In addition to pastry items, they also have iced flavor tea and milk tea. I went for my favorite bread filled with custard and it was delicious! It was fresh and filled with the right amount of custard. We also bought a couple loaves of bread and can't wait to try them. Apparently I got Portuguese Egg Tarts here once for a potluck and now I every time there is a potluck... I have to get like 20 of these. When I got a new position and went to a new team, I still find myself coming here for those. But they also have other things that are awesome like their pork buns and also hotdog bread.... which is a hotdog baked into a bread.
