    Cake Design G

We had been to this place for years but this is the first time I tried out their birthday cake & everyone was SO IMPRESSED with the design and taste of the cake. It was airy, scrumptious, not overly sweet or covered with heavy amount of cream. It was simply divine. Before you order the cake, check out their cake designs online. When you call in the order, they will ask which design you want (by a letter code shown on the pictures). You can select what type of cake base & filling. I decided to try out design G with Green Tea cake base & Chestnut fillings. The whole cake was covered with mangos, strawberries and blueberries. It was the best cake we ever ordered. Prices are reasonable and there so many cake styles to choose from. This place will be our first choice for all future cake orders. I highly recommend this bakery.

I ordered thru the doordash app for pickup and it was ready for pickup rather quickly I did not like these pastries, the bread was dry and not moist on all of them, the Portuguese tart custard was not sweet and the crust around it was not crunchy just very plain no flavor of salty or sweetness. I was not also expecting how small it was smaller than the palm of my hand, could probably have eaten it in two bites if it was edible. I expected more sweetness in the mousse cake but it was nonexistent. Maybe their other pastries are edible ?‍

Got the strawberry cake, matcha with red bean, and 2 types of egg tarts. Not the best desserts I've ate but rating this place a 3 as I'm hoping that the buns I haven't tried would have more potential and the people there were nice. The 2 cakes I got were extremely dry and I would not be purchasing these two cakes again.

Rockville has plenty of great Asian bakeries that I frequent, so when I heard Bread Corner was reopening, a Taiwanese-style bakery I haven't been to before, I had to check them out! Here's all that we got: Hot Dog Bun Assorted Pineapple Milky Bun Coconut Raisin Japanese Curry Bread Roasted Pork Bun Shredded Pork Bun Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea We came on a Sunday morning, and everything was fresh and tasty~ There definitely is a good variety of sweet and savory pastries, more leaning towards the sweet. Shredded Pork Bun was nice in flavor, but a bit too much shredded pork and bread, to the point where it was quite dry to eat. It's a very small shop, so don't expect a lot of seating, it's more of a grab/pickup & go type place. Service is very friendly and accommodating though, speaking both English and Chinese. My favorites were the Pineapple Milky Bun, Japanese Curry Bread, & the Boba! I definitely will have to come back to try the other pastries & drinks.

A lowkey Asian bakery store hidden away next to a Popeyes. So glad that I found this place because it has some of the best Asian baked goods that I've had in a while. The store reminds me of when I was little, and how I would grab the tray and tongs and run around picking out my favorite breads to add to the ones my mom would buy. It has all the breads that you would expect to find, as well as cakes and other drinks that you can order. Really cool place, check it out if you're in the mood for some bread.

I came in in the afternoon yesterday, after stumbling upon it after leaving Tea Dynasty, and I noticed that most of their pastries have been sold out. However, I was still nostalgic and excited with what's left. I can tell this place is really popular amongst locals, so they're doing something right. I ended up getting two sponge cakes, a pineapple bun, and a roasted pork bun. I love that most of their pastries are individually wrapped, and if not, they do have tongs, trays and wax paper by the door for you to grab the items with. I'd recommend coming here early in the morning when they have everything, otherwise most items would be sold out for the day. It's definitely a game of finders keepers losers weepers, towards the end of the day. It's definitely a place I'd return to again, and I'd ensure I go early. I'd recommend it to anyone in the area looking for Asian pastries.

This is a cute little bakery shop, and the staff are welcoming and friendly! I love their Portuguese egg tarts, which are to die for!!! Thanks, Bread Corner, for making my sweet experience memorable! I will be back again, that's for sure!! :)

I will never stop coming to bread corner. I have been coming here for the past 10 years and it is my favorite. It is mostly self-serve with tongs and a basket and the place is relatively small so it gets packed easily. I would recommend the Portuguese egg tart over the regular egg tarts because I like the crispier look at the top. Although the line is long, it moves fast. It may be a bit harder to find since it is tucked away, but it is a hidden gem!

I must have gone at the wrong time of the day. Most of the shelves were empty and barren. The store requires mask to enter. I wouldn't mind trying their cakes but there's nowhere to sit down. I'll just go to Teamania instead because it supplies their items and they have nice seating area. Hoping to return again some other time to give it a better review.

Are you open during covid19? The phone number is out of service. Can I use order form online and pick up?

They are open but I don't know anything about the phones or online orders. There is a limit to the number of people who can be in the store so there might be a line.

Tables not cleaned and most uneven and wonky. Just one sad front of house employee working that I saw just getting through the orders that are self order. This place has zero ambiance. I went to the bathroom and toilet tissue was nearly out and there was no way to even get anyone's attention to attend to that. Employee just kept their head down working. Food- drinks were great. My favorite is the watermelon coconut jelly. We had the pork chop pineapple bun. This is still a good sandwich. Tastes like they used to make it. Juicy pork chop, sweet pineapple bun. The construction of the sandwich leaves much to be desired because all the wet veggie ingredients slide the entire sandwich. Once you start eating, you should not put this sandwich down or it will come apart. They should put the sandwich in a sleeve. We ordered the fried chicken bento box. This bento has changed a bit from their previous version. With the new paper packaging, there are less compartments for goodies. The fried chicken recipe is different as all the batter fell off the chicken and was just a mess. There was close to zero pickles greens. With the dish which I feel brings this kind of bento together. Conclusion is food is decent, ambiance sucks. Would order to go from here but any fried food from here will be a disaster after you get it home. Had high hopes as I loved the previous location's food. Now being able to "look behind the curtain" and see how everything is made, I kind of feel question the cleanliness of this place.

As I walked past to find a different lunch place, I saw a different door with an open sign in it, and noticed the "big crowd" inside. Popping in, I found four people. One looked to be taking pictures for social media. One was sitting at a table, one at the claw machine, and the last, very bored, at one of the counters. Not a great sign. So, the hall reminds me painfully of a mall food court. There are six ish restaurants along one side, lots of seating on the other, and it's literally otherwise a hall. A bar sits at one side, and that was indeed closed. The restaurants are little more than counters, and all have kiosks. Behind them is their presumably shared kitchen. The restaurants are all fast food style. You can order from any restaurant from any kiosk. I chose the Japanese restaurant Milan, and Gong Cha for boba tea (hi, my name is Joshua, and I'm a bobaholic). Gong Cha was good, Milan was okay, but I'm reviewing the space here. Oh, and one of the restaurants also sells cheap, $7 rings -- also a good sign. I did go to the restroom, and it was slightly terrifying. There's a sign over the urinals thats said "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING." I am not sure what that meant, but I was careful not to touch any surface in the filthy bathroom. You ever use a restroom and you contemplate whether washing your hands after is a net gain or loss? Gross. After eating, I asked the one staff member where to put my tray, which was a single trash can on the far area. None of the restaurants really impressed me, and they're all chain-like. I can get better food in lots of other places, without the mall kiosk feeling. Like traditional malls, this place is painfully dying.
