First setting the expectation that this is NOT a swanky hipster bakery, but your neighborhood donut shop, it gets a solid 5 stars. It's down the street from my house and I've been getting donuts here over the years well before it switched management within the past year or two. Before the change in management, I would have given it a 2.5 to 3 star rating - the star equivalent of, "eh, it's alright." But now Donut Basket is a great spot to get some slightly above average donuts! Other Yelpers have reviewed the cronut and like I said, don't expect some super insane patisserie-level cronuts, but they are pretty damn good. My favorite donut of all time is a cruller and they definitely don't get that wrong so I'm pleased. Get a dozen for your office, your coworkers will thank you! read more

Their forte is definitely croissants. My husband got to try it today and agrees. I have yet to try their donuts and bagels. The bagels are huge too. Wouldn't recommend their Vietnamese coffee though, it's just an iced coffee. I wouldn't go to diner for pho, so stick to their donuts, croissants and bagels:p read more

Two words- cronut holes. Cronut = croissant + donut. Delicious. Get the custard filled and thank me later. My office inhaled them. I suggest calling a day ahead to place an order for pick up as the cronut holes sell out quickly, before 8 am quick. They also have original glaze and cinnamon sugar, my personal favorite. It tastes like a bite size churro croissant. The owner and workers are super nice too. Will be returning soon! read more

Love this place. They serve sandwiches too! Quality and price are excellent! Owners are kind.

OK if you guys have not tried their cronuts it is a must try. They are so fluffy, buttery complete balance of a croissant and doughnut. They are by far my most favorite thing to eat in the mornings I drive over 20 minutes one way to just get there early in the morning to try and grab the glazed, the chocolate as well as the maple also the staff, the ladies that work there are extremely nice always willing to help give them a call. They do their best to answer the phone. See if they're available. Also, you can place orders with them to as well so very helpful by far the number one donut spot for cronut in the Milpitas San Jose area. Trust me I have searched all over San Jose but thank you again and I hope you guys have an amazing day. read more

This review is based on my this Friday morning's experience. I popped in around 9:40am to buy a dozen of donuts for my coworkers. First, I picked 4 sugar glazed, 4 chocolate glazed, and 4 raspberry filling for ones. Additionally, I also got 2 extra pastries which are croissant and cheese bagel. All of them together totaled $26.10 after tax. It would be nice if the cashier could explain how she got the final number. A real receipt is better than a credit card customer copy receipt. That's why I took a star away. read more

Freshly baked, quick and convenient. Needed to get donuts for our group. Went over and was immediately greeted as I entered. The cost of 12 donuts is $10.50. Got them to box three dozen of them. Two of the boxes were assorted and one was just chocolate. The boxes are cute and tightly packed. The place accepts cards, so payment was easy. The donuts didn't move around in the car while I drove to office. Sent an email out to my group at 9 AM to help themselves to donuts in the break room. All them were gone by 11 AM, so that is a measure of how good they were. I definitely go back here for more donuts next time I want to take some more to my office. Oh, the parking was also easy. read more

Mom and Pop donut shop that sells all the classics that you love! Donuts are made fresh daily, soft, fluffy, and not overly sweet. My favorites are the donut holes and sugar coated. Maple bars and old fashioned are delicious also. They also have custom sandwiches which I havent tried if youre looking for a quick and easy lunch. Service is always with a smile. Prices are reasonable. They take credit cards for orders over $5. Open till 4:30pm everyday but they tend to run low of stock by 1pm so try and make it out before then. read more

Joi them cronuts are fire . Both girls working very helpful. Breakfast sandwiches were also pleasing. Will be back!!!

Absolutely a great donut! Fresh daily and exactly what a donut should be. Rich and delicious. Not many make a decent French crueller however Donut Basket nails it. Bear claws and apple fritters loaded with apples. Friendly mom n pop shop. Enjoy Donut Basket! read more

Really like croissants donuts and cream filled regular donut holes. The prices are affordable! My go to for the office.

I was on a donut craving this morning and ventured out to try some new local donut shops. My all time favorite are Krispy Kreme donuts, but after today, I might have a new favorite. I stopped by Donut Basket in the morning because Yelp says that they accept card, NEGATIVE. This place is CASH ONLY. I noticed the ATM sign as soon as I walked in and saw the machine and though - Oh, great. I asked the nice couple that greeted me if they accept cards and said no, but there's an ATM machine. I don't like using ATM machines that's not at my bank, so I told them I'd come back later, and I did :) I ended up ordering a dozen of donut holes, 4 original glazed donuts, and 1 apple filled donut. The original glazed ones were HUGE! The nice lady also gave me a free one :) I love free things, especially food ;) My total came out to be $6 even - I haven't really bought a lot of donuts, but I felt that was relatively cheap? 10 minutes after leaving the store, I inhaled the dozen of donut holes and 10 minutes after that, 1 original glazed donut. Yes, it was THAT good. It wasn't so sweet that I felt the need to drink tons and tons of water or milk as I do with Krispy Kreme - I would have to gulp down my beverage after a bit into a Krispy Kreme, but this wasn't the case. The original glazed one was so fluffy and so perfect. I'm definitely going to be a regular now ;) especially since it's so close to my house ... then again, I don't want to gain 10 pounds in like a week, so maybe not TOO often, but I definitely will be coming back for more :) read more

I could go on and on abut cronuts but you would have to come try it for yourself or don't, because that'll leave more for the rest of us. They can get pretty busy. But cronut holes with fillings are my fave with a cup of coffee. read more

This is the nostalgic mom and pop doughnut shop that we all grew up with here in the Bay Area. They offer a variety of doughnuts, but the people who come to this shop are here for the classics: glazed, chocolate, crumb, maple, etc. They don't mess around with all those sugary bougie toppings that those new age wack attack doughnut shops carry that turn you diabetic. Pair it with a simple black coffee and you're out the door. Oh yea, and you always come up with a few donut holes from the generous owner. The simplicity of this place keeps its loyal customers. read more

Updated review as this place is now under new management. Donuts are pretty good here! Big fan of their apple fritters. The cronuts are a little too expensive for what you get for me, but they're cool to try out. read more

The lady who took my order was very nice. The restruant was somewhat recently redone (at the beginning of COVID if I remember correctly), and it is nice and cozy now. Got an apple fritter and a bagle sandwich. I found out once I got home that they made me the wrong sandwich, but it was still really good so I can't complain. The apple fritter was pretty good as well. read more

Delicious croissant sandwiches! I had the bacon egg and cheese. Very nice owners/staff. The cronut was a bit sweet but texture was great

Basic donuts here are good! They usually throw in a few extra donut holes which is really nice! Feed the extras to the boyfriend of course, while I eat the rest heh. I especially like the breakfast croissant sandwiches here. They come out warm and tasty! It's also pretty cheap for a big croissant sandwich filled with eggs, cheese, and meat of choice as compared to other donut shops I've been to. read more

Okay I'm usually a 7-Eleven guy in the morning. I'm always getting some donuts there for myself and grandson. Never noticed this donut shop down the street. I went in there... my manager would occasionally bring in donuts to work with cronut holes and I was obsessed, but she lives in the MV/Los Altos area and that's a little far for me to grab donuts. my tongue is ecstatic for the existence of Donut Basket :D their icing shell/glaze is also the perfect amount; both my hubby and I are not fans of heavy glazes. he's especially happy about the apple fritter, with its crispy outside and soft inside and light glaze. the old fashioned, french cruller, sugar raised, and the cinnamon twist were also very good. the cronut holes (and cronuts, ofc) are more expensive ($6.50/dozen), but as someone who has made a few attempts at making croissants from scratch before, the pricing is totally justified. definitely need to try a proper cronut at some point as well! even though it's not the closest donut shop to us (there's one less than a mile away), it's our new favorite donut shop, and whenever we'd like some donuts, would make the extra 5 minute drive to get our donuts here! read more

The best donuts and fair price. Awesome customer service. Very clean place and fresh donuts and cronuts. It's a must stop place.

My first time Coming in here a Few days ago was a very bad experience. First I accidentally walked in without a face mask. Soon as I walk in the Skinny Vietnamese girl tells me PUT On A Mask ! Wow loud and embarrassing especially to a first time customer. And no respect to me since I'm a Senior Citizen. So, U lost my Buisness forever and I can find another doughnut shop literally on every corner goodbye read more

I wanted to try a new donut shop, and this one is just right down the street from the house. I've heard of this place but never tried it until this morning after I got off working the graveyard. Bought a dozen of custard filled glazed donuts. I was surprised by how inexpensive they were. Plus the size of the donut holes are a lot larger than I'm use to. All in all, this place is a hidden Jem. Lady that helped me was very kind and asked me to wait a little longer to fill the donuts with custard. Took less than 5 minutes. I will definitely be coming here more often and I highly recommend this place! read more

their glazed cronuts are amazing! i can honestly eat them every single day, & the lady working there is kind as well.

This place gets busy in the early morning. This is a place where you can get donuts and bagels! If you like donuts you can get a dozen donuts for $8.75 and they give you a good assortment. I like how their donuts taste fresh and not overwhelmingly sweet...they're actually pretty yummy! I had a bagel with cream cheese the first time I went in and it wasn't bad at all either. The staff at the place are pretty friendly and helpful. I definitely will go back to try their donut holes that previous reviewers had mentioned. read more
