There was some iffy planning on a Bellevue teriyaki restaurant's part when they locked my two foodie friends and me out of eating there an hour and a half before closing with no explanation, so we found this place instead. One of my friends and I have already had their location in Georgetown countless times so we were happy to recommend our choices for our other friend this Friday evening around 7pm. Welp, we came into very full seating inside an extremely tight yet cozy seating area if it weren't for all the noise from there being so many people inside. It was so full and more people kept lining up behind us that we decided to do takeout and eat our food on the hood of my car despite spaces opening up as we waited about 20 or so minutes for our food... did I mention the parking lot for this place was nearly full and spots were very unforgiving in elbow room? Also that it's peak dinner time? Anyway, you place your order on a lone kiosk up front which did contribute to the really long line forming near the outside entrance. Like their Georgetown location, they offer a ton of hearty donburi and some appetizers and soup. Staff were a little rushed with some orders and forgot to give me utensils when I requested them through the kiosk but this didn't affect my overall experience, as I went back and they were more than happy to give them to me. We got their unagi donburi, which consists of a ton of broiled freshwater eel with an umami seasoning and tender juiciness, all on top of a huge bed of rice and with some radish. One of my friends instead got their una-gyu donburi which is a mix of unagi and sukiyaki beef, though that means we all got their unagi. Eel wasn't too salty, and scales are very fine and small that you can just eat it as is. This was a warming, hearty meal that sat very well with me and my friends. For this location and the one in Georgetown, I am most certainly coming back for some more! read more

I thought it was another fast-casual spot but this place really stands out from the rest. I got the chirashi bowl and the fish was fresh, the rice well flavored, and portion size satisfactory. Really enjoyed it. My family got the aburi sake and volcano donburis and enjoyed their food as well. They have a wide variety of donburi options - fish, meat, katsu, and tofu. Came here right around opening because my friend and I were craving chirashi bowls. You order at the counter, either with a self-checkout screen or they can take your order. Super fairly priced at around $19 for the chirashi and $16.50 for the aburi sake don aka seared salmon. We found a seat and they brought the food out to us in under 10 minutes. By this point, the restaurant is filling up with customers so they get quite busy! It's a small space so I imagine they get a lot of take out orders as well. Food was delirious, my seared salmon was super fresh, I'd not a little on the thin side. It paired well with the fresh wasabi. My friend said her chirashi bowl was delicious as well, though the tuna was lean and she preferred the fatty tuna. When you finish your meal, just bus your own tray and you're good to go. This is a cute spot to grab some fish over rice dishes in the BellRed area. The servers have been super nice in all my visits and the wait has never been longer than 5-10 minutes in my experience. As a poke bowl fan, this place definitely shines with their fish, and I definitely loved their seared salmon option. I don't eat shellfish, so I requested to omit crab salad and substitute with extra seaweed salad for my poke order. You get a choice of salad or rice in the bowl, I got half salad and half rice, which looks to have added a $.50 surcharge that I wasn't informed of. Nominal but thought it was worth mentioning because the salad ended up being some iceberg lettuce and not mixed greens, which is what I had expected. Fish was really fresh. My favorite was the buttery, melt-in-your-mouth salmon. I'd consider getting the salmon poke or sake donburi next time. Takoyaki was better than it is at most other places and came out piping hot. Atmosphere: small dining area with limited seating. Upon entering/exiting there is an automated Japanese greeting, a bit of a unique experience. Menu: scan the QR code near the front door for. Service: order and pay at the front or the kiosk, water yourself with cups and water dispenser to left of register (utensils and napkins located there too), bus your own table. Salmon Poke Salad Bowl: the salmon is fresh and has large chunks but everything else is extremely disappointing. The "salad" is ice burg lettuce, you barely get any cucumber slices. The bowl is 70% ice burg lettuce with an uneven protein ratio so I was left just eating ice burg lettuce halfway through my meal (even with alternating bites of salmon and other toppings). For the price you pay, you can get much more toppings with better quality elsewhere. Short Ribs Yakiniku: Really yummy and tender cuts of meat on the bone but it is a bit too sweet in my opinion. I think it would be better if it came with some sort of pickled veggies to cleanse the palate every now and then. Side Pork Curry: This is DELICIOUS. It is really flavorful but too much on it's own. Best to eat this with the remaining rice at the bottom of your bowl. read more

I visited this place when they first opened and they didn't have dine-in but not sure if that was due to COVID. I recently re-visited and the interior has improved for the better! Now they have tables and you can dine-in though it's still quite small. You order on the very large screen and then wait. We ordered our lunch as takeout I ordered the chicken katsu Don and my husband had the fried tofu Don with chili sauce and nori.
