It as a recommendation to try it while i had a day in town. I ordered ahead and went to pick up a combo 1, which provided 3 pieces of chicken that were char grilled along with warm corn tortillas, rice and charro beans. It was my first time and i really enjoyed it. I liked the drink options as there was the usual soda but also horchata and lipton's tea dispenser. The charros was my favorite and be careful with those jalapenos as i felt how hot it was in my stomach for an hour after. LOL. i guess i can't take the heat! OK this place rocks the chicken was delicious and I do mean delicious. I don't know understand the square of tortillas but they were good to. They don't have a mild sauce so their sauce is not for the 10 minute. I am a timid person so I couldn't get down with the sauces, but they were delicious a little too hard for my taste, but I did like them, the staff was super friendly the restaurant was nice and clean. I'm giving 3 stars as there are good points here. Service on point, dessert was fantastic! I had the guava pie. A bit pricy but very good. The part I'm not sure about: - chicken good but a bit dry - square tortillas are interesting. I got 3 or 4 with my meal. Not sure exactly how many as they were stuck together as one. Couldn't use as intended. - Borracho bean recipe must be from Ohio or something as they have cut up wieners in it - yuck! - fries good but they didn't fit the whole meal. Is this place Mexican? BBQ? Out visiting family in El Paso and we stumbled upon this gem. First things first, the second you walk in you're hit with an amazing mesquite smoke aroma. I could sit for hours just taking this scent in - a fringe benefit for the kind workers, no doubt. We ordered a mesquite grilled chicken breast, macaroni salad, a vegan burger, french fries, corn tortillas and a handful of jalapeño toreado along with a sampling of their green and red salsas. Man - I can't find a darn thing to complain about. Everything was well prepared and absolutely delicious! Toss in fair prices and you've got a sure fire winner. It's also worth mentioning, they sell their own proprietary mesquite charcoal (which I regret not picking up!) I only wish they had locations closer to home - they'd definitely give the "crazy chicken" a run for their money. Hope to be back sooner than later! Thanks for a great meal! read more

Excellent experience The employees at this location are amazing. This was my first visit to Don Carbon and I had no idea what to order. The employees were very patient with me and suggested I try the Don Carbon combo. (I should mention also that I went through the drive thru) I selected a side salad and fries as my sides and never thought of getting dressing. I got back to the hotel and unloaded my bag of deliciousness and found they hooked me up with dressing, salsa, hot sauce and plenty of napkins. This was by far the best experience I have ever had in a drive thru as well as the best experience for a first time visit to a restaurant. The chicken was cooked to perfection with a perfect smoked flavor and the salad had the perfect mix of lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and slivered onion. The fries were as good as fries can be. Food is always good here nice place. I'm here on a Wednesday around 730 pm and It's an all male crew, not good service at all. Tables are dirty even though there's only one other person here. There's no napkins out no silverware no anything no salsa no jalapeño you name it. Music is very loud. Feels like you're hanging out at the bar or the club. I do not see any management person and if they are, they are not doing their job. I hope this is not a sign of things going bad as I like this place and try to come in at least once a week we'll see what happens next week. Yikes read more

Don Carbon is already known for one of the best in town, this one here is the best of all their branches. Not trying to take away from other Don Carbon, they're all good but the chicken here is just way juicier. Customer service from cashiers,servers, to the manager are all great!
