You have to love Don Carbon; a real local gem that has blossomed across Sun City. With some of the best Mesquite Grilled Chicken in town this is a go to place for quick and fast quality food. Love their #3 combo with frijoles charro beans and macaroni. Located next to "Amar Peruvian restaurant" and Albertsons, this Don Carbon is very close to UTEP. It offers some great burgers and chicken cooked over their open charcoal mesquite grills. This is definitely a local treasure as it was created by a Mexican family from Juarez who shared with our community their passion for food and marinated chicken with some great spices. Their grilled chicken is to die for absolutely succulent! They also offer a surprisingly delicious plant based burger and my favorite their Tofu Bowl. The service is with Bernice and Esteban was super friendly and the atmosphere is cool and relaxed! This place is typically packed for lunch. So come early, and try Don Carbon this is a local fast food that deserves our support.

To go and curbside, as well as dine in. Clean restaurant, good flavor on the chicken. Charro beans have quite a bit of fat back added for flavor, I don't care for the texture though. Rice was tasty. Fountain drinks tasted good as well. We all know those can be off sometimes! $10.25 all in. Three piece combo with drink

Love me some Don Carbon! This location recently opened. It used to be a Carl's Jr. at one time. I've never really been a fan of Carl's Jr. so I was glad to find out it was going to become a Don Carbon. I ordered some grilled chicken with some sides of rice, beans and fries. I also got some chicken fajitas and a slice of tres leches cake. All of it was delicious! I like how their chicken doesn't have too much fat on it. It's always fresh tasting and flavorful. None of their food is ever bland. Their red salsa and cooked jalapeno are always super spicy but so good! Have a tissue ready because your eyes and/or nose might start to water. The customer service was on point, too. The staff was quick and efficient, along with friendly. I used the drive-thru. I forgot to mention, you get a few corn tortillas with each order. The tres leches cake was so good, too! It had a lot of cinnamon on top of it. If you're not into chicken, they offer hamburgers, quesadillas, fit bowls and a couple of plant-based and vegan options. I'm glad to see that Don Carbon has expanded around El Paso. They have at least seven or eight locations around town. It's a local, family-owned business that's run by Tania Pedregon. They began in 2013. Give it a try, there's something for everyone here. Take it to family or friends, they'll be so glad that you did. The prices are pretty good, too. It's not super cheap but not super expensive, either.

    New Kern Location! So excited!

I have been waiting for quite awhile for this location to open. It's only 10 minutes from my house and so this will probably my go to for my Carbón grilled chicken needs. It's at the location of the old Carl's Jr. and I am very impressed with the decor and the way that they tie new stores to the existing while still maintains a unique feel. I as always, had the grilled chicken (amazing) and my wife decided to try the beef quesadilla. The beef quesadilla was incredible. Super buttery flour tortilla, deliciously seasoned beef, acedero cheese. All on point. The red sauce with that was incredible. I'll be coming here on a regular basis, come check it.

It was very heavy and very cheesy. There was something super heavy about that I cant describe. The staff was super nice and got us our food and drinks and refilled our salsa n chips often. My friend had the mole item and felt it was way too sweet/cocoa on it. Overall I would've wanted to try the other machaca items and other things. The vibe is very homely and chill, bit of a hole in the wall atmosphere.

I had just flown in from the airport, and my brother arranged it as a special family gathering. Everything started normally: we were seated, ordered our food, received our drinks, and enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. Then my sister (who is LGBTQ+) stepped away to use the restroom. When she returned and sat down, a manager approached our table and loudly told her--in front of other diners--that "MEN cannot use the female restroom." My sister was mortified and humiliated by the public confrontation. The manager's tone and assumption were shocking and clearly discriminatory. We immediately got up and left without eating. This wasn't about enforcing any legitimate policy; it was rude, insensitive, and targeted. My adult sister is perfectly capable of reading the restroom signs herself--no one needed to police or shame her in such a way. The incident felt rooted in homophobia and transphobia from management. We will never return to this place, and we will actively discourage others--especially LGBTQ+ individuals and allies--from patronizing it. What should have been a joyful family milestone was ruined by bigotry. Avoid this establishment if you value respect and inclusivity.

While the food was never the primary…read morereason I returned, the excellent margaritas and outstanding service kept me coming back for nearly two decades. Unfortunately, that loyalty came to an end after a recent experience that was both disappointing and unacceptable. My family and I chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Every guest paid separately, and there were no issues during the evening itself. However, as the event concluded, multiple attendees, including family members and in-laws, overheard servers making derogatory comments about our party. Among the remarks were that we were "ungrateful," "cheap," and "broke," along with other inappropriate comments that no customer should ever have to hear. I brought the matter to the attention of ownership, hoping for a meaningful resolution. While I was told the employees had been reprimanded, the proposed remedy was a $25 gift card. After nearly 18 years of patronage, the response felt dismissive and only added insult to injury. What disappoints me most is not simply the behavior of the staff, but the lack of accountability and concern shown afterward. This was a place I once considered a reliable and welcoming destination for family gatherings and celebrations. Sadly, that trust has been lost. As a result, I will no longer be returning or recommending this establishment to friends, family, or colleagues. Respect for customers should be a fundamental part of any hospitality business, and in this case, that standard was not met.

I bumped it up to four stars for the super friendly service and the excellent aguas frescas. We got there late, about an hour before closing and they were literally trying to get rid of the aguas for free. I guess they have to dump it if they don't use it all. It was close to our hotel so we gave it a try. Portion sizes are good. The taco platter comes with six tacos! I had the flautas Chinampa which came with four beef flautas, beans, rice, and salad. I forgot, the taco platter even came with a baked potato. Prices were excellent. We had gone to McDonald's in the morning and spent more. They also cave us frijoles charros for free. Not sure if this was standard or if they were also trying to get rid of it. I would return for the service and the convenience, but if you're looking for life changing Mexican cuisine, it's not here. What you get is a good amount of decent food at a good price served by great people.

I could say so much for you to believe me, and it honestly starts with the speedy (and kind) service, flavorful profiles and the pricing! My first visit I just simply couldn't believe it.
