I also tried the potato soup, which unfortunately wasn't my favorite. It was a bit thin and had a slightly chemical aftertaste. I know people love it but not for me. I don't know how many times in the past few years I have driven past Don & Millie's without giving it a second thought when we were looking for a restaurant. Well on Monday that ended. My wife, daughter and I decided to give it a try. I had their double cheese burger meal, my wife has their taco salad and my daughter had their chicken strips. Ok the disclaimer is this is the first time we visited this location bc our daughter had been artwork shown here today and yesterday ! They were so nice even though they were so packed on Friday night and still had the place under control , got the food out fairly quickly and had it pretty neat and clean inside even though so busy! Extra shout out to Rhonda who helped us out bc I totally only remembered about her artwork being up after dinner and bedtime last night when it was our actual pto night. They actually took her picture down this am but put it back up to surprise my daughter tonight AND even though it was another schools pto night took she put our dinners receipt into Yaelis schools pile in the back office ! Please go support this don and milllies on Evans st in Homaha just bc they/Rhonda are the absolute best! They give 20% of sales to the local schools on their pto nights too ! I hadn't been to a Don and Millie's since the '90's on 84th and Q St. How it has stayed in business this long is amazing. Tonight we went to the 181st and Wright location drive-thru. We ordered shrimp and fish dinners that were horrible and greasy - absolutely inedible. Only 2 pieces of credit-card sized fish (and about that thin) with thick, mushy breading. Shrimp was the same - thick, greasy breading. Fries and onion rings were gross. They need to get a new grease provider or at least change their vats more often. Probably would help if they also fried each item in separate vats. Everything was super greasy. Even after washing, my hands still smell! I don't recommend and won't go back. read more

Food is pretty good. The chilli is a little runny compared to what I'm used to being from Texas, but it has good flavor to it. Chicken strips taste like your average fast casual chicken strips. The burgers I've had as well, and were surprisingly juicy and had some really good flavor. I recommend this place if you want something fast and decently priced. read more

Been a customer for over a decade. Never have I got such poorly made food. I got the food to go. The 2 hamburgers were literally sitting in puddles of grease in the styrofoam containers. The lower buns were soggy with grease. The cheese for the cheese fries is so thin it barely sticks to the fries. The flavor of everything was overwhelmingly salty. What is going on? What did you do to your hamburger recipe? It's not just me. MULTIPLE people I have spoke to have the same issue. The double Don is so SALTY it's inedible. I can eat anything and I can't eat that. I've complained and no one cares. Either someone is messing with your recipe or there's some other issue. It needs to be fixed immediately. Drove thru today -- the lines wasn't long but at times due to big orders it can take 5-10 minutes to get through. I tried the sensational berry chicken salad and it was very good! Feta cheese, cranberries, grilled chicken a d these yummy crunchy wonton type strips. There were some odd black crispy bits I assume they were Burnt wontons. It comes with a sweet poppy seed dressing. While I love shoe string fries. If you love fresh fries/onion rings that taste soggy immediately, then go ahead and order them :) today my drink was forgot and given the wrong size. All and all I'll be back. My wife and I eat out at least three times a week. This restaurant used to see us at least twice a month before it got cold out. On our first return from winter hibernation, the Hamburgers were semi-dried out and coated with a discussing seasioning. What went wrong during the winter? Meh. Honestly I don't know what all the fuss is about with Don and Millie's. Haven't been to one in years but figured I'd give this new location a shot. Not super impressed. For the price, the portions are pretty small and the quality of the food is underwhelming. The beef in the burger was actually well-seasoned, pretty heavy on the black pepper. But the patty was small (doubting it was truly a quarter pound) and over cooked. The texture was crumbly and dry. The cheese was your average processed yellow cheese (I don't call this "American" cheese as I find this insulting lol) but was only about halfway melted. The fries were just there. Not soggy but not crispy. Not hot either... just poor quality. Better at McDonalds. The onion rings were decent, not too thick on the onion slices. The .99 lime margarita was the best part of the meal. Pretty strong considering the price! The strawberry marg didn't taste like strawberry at all. Not sure what artificial flavor it was but I didn't get a berry flavor of any kind. read more

Showed up 5 min before close and Mackenzie still provided excellent customer service, sounded happy to be there and happy we showed up. They made all of our food fresh and probably had to clean again but there are not many places that you can go to 5 min before close and be welcomed with open arms! Went there last night and food was terrible. Hamburgers were thrown together and fries/rings were cold and inedible. Would have taken food back but went through the drive-thru. Will never go back! This is a new place in West Omaha so we had to try it. Personally, I have never heard of Don& Millie's. The decor is no different than other burger spots that are made for casual fast food. My finaceé got the footlong chili cheese dog. He said the chili was the best of the meal. The foot long was not a foot long.. It seemed a little longer than a normal hotdog. He asked for cheese and they gave him shredded cheese. We were under the impression it would be nacho cheese. I got a grilled chicken salad and getting a salad at a fast food joint means it'll be okay. It was exactly what I expected. They offer alcohol however! The Margaritas are $0.99 and Domestic beers are $1.45 or along these lines. I'm assuming their burgers would be the main selling point of the resturant, and if we tried them, maybe we would of been more satisfied. Overall, we got two drinks and two entrees for $15.00. So, it is a cheap place to eat for sure! read more

I love Don & Millie's but it's rare that I enjoy on of their tasty burgers because I hardly ever find myself near one when I am hungry. That has changed with this new location on 161st and Maple. It's near my house/work and will become my go-to quick burger spot. It easily beats out the competition this far west on Maple Street. After letting the newness wear off a bit, I finally dropped by for dinner over the weekend and was pleased to find it was tasty as I remember. The double cheeseburger was greasy, cheesy, and delicious. The fries were a bit disappointing in that they were undercooked. Maybe that was due to the dinner rush or because they're still working out the kinks. It won't stop me from going back though. read more

Got a bowl of baked potato soup, first the container was melted down to about half the size it should've been. There was only about half the soup and it was practically milk with boiled potatoes. It tasted extremely watery and I am overall disappointed and won't be returning. read more

Visited Omaha to see my grandmother. We went through this locations drive through this past Sunday at 11:15am and it was dead. Employee was very thorough and friendly while ordering. We did receive all of our food but our burgers tasted awful. The meat tasted old. Not fresh at all. They were very skimpy on the fries as well. I would NOT return when we come back to Omaha to visit. Skip online ordering and use drive through. We placed an online order on 3/7 and received an email that it would be ready for pickup at 5:45 p.m. When I went inside at the assigned time to pick it up she told me she would put it in to be prepared. She said, and a sign on their online pickup window states that "In order to ensure that your food is as fresh as possible we prepare your order when you arrive". This defeats the purpose of ordering online. You have to put on a mask and wait inside while they fix your food. And you have to fill your own drinks. When i expressed my disappointment to Leslie there she said the reason they do that is because customers were not picking up orders on time and they had to remake food that became cold. But this policy protects them and not the customer. When you accept an online order and give a confirmed pickup time you have a responsibility to meet that time, not keep the customer waiting while you fix it for him; and the customer, who has prepaid for the food has an obligation to pick it up at the assigned time. read more

We recently visited this store around 4:00 on a Sunday afternoon after a long car trip. I was hungry but the smell of onion hit me so hard at the front door that I immediately passed on early dinner. My husband ordered a burger and o-rings. Usually good, but this trip the burger had obviously been sitting too long, was dry? Not sure why. The dining room was empty yet not 1 table had been cleaned. Every other table was unused for COVID spacing. We explained to the front counter help all the tables were dirty. I love Don and Millie's and have been a fan of theirs for years. During a visit to fathers place I took him to a newer local Don and Millie's I've never been to. Looked nice and new and we enjoyed our delicious meal. It was a not so pleasant surprise when I heard the manger say the F word to another employee. I was taken by surprise when I heard that manger complain to the employee about another employee. Describing the situation as "that bitch still has her fucking job". As I tried to pretend I didn't over hear the nasty language it continued for a total of 7 "F words". This place is meant for kids and if I had been there with innocent listeners the manager would've been called out. The only reason the review is two stars is because I know and love the Don and Millie's of Omaha even if this experience was the complete opposite. read more
