Walked in around 2:30 pm on a total snow day and basically had the place to myself, which was kind of perfect. The vibe inside is exactly what I want in a bar: dark, moody, a little sexy, with dim lighting and rich wood tones. Total escape from the bland strip-mall parking lot outside. Night-and-day difference the second you step through the door. Happy hour runs every day until 6 pm (huge win), so I grabbed the Toasted & Roasted martini for $9--yes, it comes with a toasted marshmallow garnish that actually works--and it was dangerously good. Sweet, smoky, strong... one of those drinks you sip slowly because you don't want it to end. Paired it with the buffalo chicken sliders + fries and demolished everything. Sliders were spicy without being overkill, sauce was on point, and the fries were perfectly crispy. Service was friendly and quick even though it was quiet, and the bartender checked in just the right amount. Prices felt fair (especially with happy hour), and the whole experience just felt... cool. Like the kind of neighborhood spot you brag about finding. Already texted my local friends that they've been sleeping on this place. I ordered an espresso martini, and the bartender mentioned he could make a salted caramel martini that wasn't even on the menu. It was decadent, perfectly balanced, and definitely strong--in the best way. It even came garnished with a Ghirardelli chocolate, which was such a thoughtful touch. Despite how busy it was, the bartender was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. I never felt rushed or like I was a bother, which really stood out. I didn't even realize it was a chain at first, and I was surprised to learn it's owned by the same company behind The Cheesecake Factory. Nothing against Cheesecake Factory, I love it too but "chain" can sometimes create the wrong impression. The food at North Italia feels authentic and easily holds its own against the other high-end Italian restaurants in town. The cocktails are excellent, the food is consistently top-notch, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. On top of that, the atmosphere is warm, stylish, and makes it a great place for anything from date night to brunch with your family.

The service is always great as well, and our first time at Barnato we were confused on how to locate the speakeasy (since we had never been to one before) and the staff was very helpful. My one note is that their holiday mixed drinks have consistently been nicer to look at than to taste, but we mostly come for the theming anyhow.
