A soup and sandwich joint with lots of baked goods -- that's Blue Sky…read more It was a cold and drizzly day when I visited, and a bowl of butternut squash soup was the perfect thing. I also got The Yardbird sandwich after the server recommended it. It's basically just chicken salad and lettuce between a ciabatta roll, but it was simple and great. And what the heck: I can't visit a bakery that has multiple sweets without getting one. I also listened to the advice of the server when she recommended the orange scone. She was right again! It was tender and tasted like a Froot Loop. Blue Sky is located on the corner of a busy street. There are lots of tables, but if you can, sit at the bar that looks out onto the street to see the hustling and bustling college town.

We found Legendary Eats on Yelp and decided to try them after reading the reviews and due to the fact they offer outside dining. It was excellent and under $10. We will definitely return when we come back to the DC area.

Sweet Treats Catering - Can I Say, "Perfect!"…read more We used our favorite Lexington caterer for my 75th Birthday party. We have used them in the past for dinners and parties, large and small. They are outstanding. We had over 50 guests come to our home for the party. Shane and Adrian took care of everything (coordinating the tent, tables & chairs, linens, flowers, etc., etc.). Everything came off without a hitch. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious! Without seeming dramatic, it was the absolute best BBQ chicken and pork I have ever had. The sides were equally wonderful. Our guests couldn't stop praising it all. Sweet Treats also prepared the special birthday cake. Like the rest of the meal, the cake was superb. People went back for 2nd (and sometime 3rd) helpings. I strongly recommend you check out Sweet Treats. Best by far throughout Lexington and Rockbridge County. Should you have any questions concerning this review, feel free to reach out to me directly. Pat Flynn (904-501-1290)

I had the Kenney Burger which is basically a hamburger that has been dipped in their special sauce after the burger has been cooked. It's a good burger only $1.95 and it really reminds you of a burger dipped in something similar to manwich sauce. The hot dog comes with chili, mustard, and onions. I absolutely love hot dogs and get one at any restaurant that serves them. The chili sauce is meat only (no beans) and is on point, only $1.99. Fries are thick crinkle cuts, saw them cooking onion rings definitely getting those next time. Someone at table next to me had ordered fried chicken and it looked delicious. In addition to baked goods, I was pleased that they offered the option for a breakfast salad. Way to start the day off right. My salad was quite substantial, with nuts, cheese, and sweet potatoes.
