Such a great place and the pizza was amazing. Can't wait to come back. We enjoy coming when we visit our son at VMI. Highly recommend getting the Fig & Pig and trying out the wall of beer. read more

Salerno's - The Fig & Pig - Pizza Near Me - Lexington, Virginia

Went to Salerno's for a friend's wedding pre-party and it was honestly such a great spot. They had the place rented out just for us, and the whole vibe was super chill and fun. You could pour your own beer (which was a nice touch), and they kept bringing out different fried apps that were all really solid...definitely not your average bar food. The staff was awesome--super friendly and on top of things without hovering. It just felt easy and welcoming. Would 100% come back, either for a casual night or another event. Great pizza, great people, great atmosphere. read more

Depends on the day. Some days the pizza is great, other days it's soggy. Go for the beer card because they are not used to making their cocktails (makes sense with the pour-your-own beer gimmick but also why have cocktails on the menu?). But when it's good, it's GOOD. read more

The pizzas are terrific, crispy & chewy crusts with fresh toppings and lots of variety. They also have a good choice of salads that can serve as a replacement for pizza. Of course, there's the fun beer wall, which enables you to try little tastes of many beers. read more

We enjoyed our visit to Salerno's! It was not busy when we arrived midday, and our server was friendly. They have ample indoor seating and some outdoor patio seating, too. Street parking nearby. A large selection of drinks are on tap. We ordered two pizzas, a build your own and "nature boy" (add chicken). I thought the pizza was really fresh and the crust was soft. A delicious meal! One of my friends also got the chicken parmesan which they liked. We were just passing through on a road trip but I bet it is busier and a fun place to hang during the evenings/weekends especially with a college nearby. read more

Just had 2 pies delivered from Door Dash from Salernos. Both pies the dough is raw. How can they let uncooked pies out the door. Very disappointment. Will not order again. read more

Wanted to Love It, But Fell Short I really wanted to love this place--I was craving good pizza and had high hopes. Unfortunately, it didn't quite deliver. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza, which was supposed to come with basil, but I couldn't find any. The BBQ sauce was overpowering, drowning out all the other flavors, and the crust was burnt on the bottom, which definitely didn't help. I ended up eating it just to avoid wasting food, but I honestly didn't enjoy it. That said, the service was a bright spot. Our server was as sweet as pie--friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was decent, nothing special, but comfortable enough. One standout feature: if you're a beer lover, this place might still be worth a visit. They have dozens of beers on tap and even offer tastings, which I thought was a great touch--even though I'm not a beer drinker myself. Overall, it wasn't the experience I hoped for, but there were a few redeeming qualities. read more

My wife and I had dinner here on a Saturday evening. We had eaten here before and it was horrible!! But we had heard that management had changed and we should give it a try. Good decision!! The interior has been renovated and the food was really good. There is street parking and also a free public lot across the street. There is also indoor and some outdoor seating. It has a fairly wide menu. My wife and I had a greek salad each. She had a BLT and I had an angus burger. Both were excellent! Our waitress Claire was excellent. But the best part of all was the beer wall. You get a card from your server and you can go and get samples of whatever beer you want and when you find one you like, you can get a full pour. They probably had close to 30 beers. There were fruit beers, lagers, IPAs, ciders, stouts, etc. We are often in Lexington and this may be a new favorite place to stop! read more

Price was way too high. Our group was charged $28 per person for pizza and water. I ate three pieces of pizza. So basically, each slice of pizza cost me $9.00. Never going there again. read more

This place is tops. Pretty cool beer selection and you can taste test them Pizza is awesome, thin crust and a great variety And to end some zippole's? For dessert Best waitress ever! Place is casual and cool read more

Pizza was 5.5 out of 10, service was good, and Ambiance was ok I guess, we went durning lunch and couldn't really tell. I would try something different if I was in Lexington next time. read more

Worst service ever. Waiters had a "Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp" theme costumes, which is bizarre. To bring a high profile sexual harassment and defamation case into a family friendly pizza shop is just weird. Our waitress walked by us, intentionally ignoring us, multiple times. Fried pickles appetizer took 30 minutes. Salad came out an hour after we ordered. Pizza tasted good, not great, but good enough. That is, until my dining companion bit into a chicken bone (see photo) hidden in her Hot Hunny pizza. Hostile waitress and dangerous bones in food. Don't come here if you're hungry. Heliotrope is better! read more

Brick fired pizza and pour your own beers from 30 taps. What's not to like? The wings were very meaty and had a great flavor, breading was a little slimy though, make sure you order well done. Pizza was great, nice crust as you would expect. It is a college town so there were a lot of students rolling in after 7 or so, but it's a pretty big place. One thing we found was ordering wine is not recommended, quite pricey for the area, just a weird quirk. read more

We stopped by on our way down to Fancy Gap, and it was the perfect lunch spot. Huge variety of beers, ciders, etc and a huge selection of specialty wood fire pizzas; it took me ages to pick one because they all sounded amazing and creative. The service was wonderful! Literally every staff member we encountered while we were there was welcoming and kind. Food was delicious! Highly recommend! read more

I really enjoyed Salerno's. We ordered 1 Supreme pizza to share as a little snack before going elsewhere for dinner in a few hours. It was so good that we ended up ordering 2 more and making it our dinner instead. We sat at the bar so our service was very prompt and personalized. When I asked how the card system worked for pouring a glass of the cider/beer/sour, the manager walked me over to the taps and took me through the whole process. I appreciated the time he took in assisting me and pointing out his favorites. A note on the renovations that previous yelpers have mentioned: My husband is from Lexington and he said that the pizzas were much larger for the same price before the renovation. I suppose they bumped up the prices to match the classier look, but regardless, we still enjoyed our time and the delicious food. read more

We visited with a group of 8 during SVU's Homecoming weekend. We got there at 5:30 and just got in before the place filled up with a wait. Our waiter was nice and got drinks out quickly. Sadly, things went downhill from there. We got wings in ~30 minutes, garlic bread 20 mins after that. Then another 45 minutes for chicken parm (it was quite good), and then another 45 minutes for the 4-5 pizzas. Yes, that adds up to 2 HOURS to get our food! Our waiter apologize for the 'kitchen delay' and we heard other servers doing the same, but something else clearly went wrong with our order b/c we literally watched every single table come and go while we waited. One of the pizzas came out burnt black on one side - I simply said, "NO" to our server and he knew it. He took that off our bill and discounted rest of our order, but we missed another event we had for 7pm (figured 90 mins was enough for pizza). Wish our waiter would have just explained what happened, and also been upfront when he brought a blackened pizza out. No manager in sight the whole night - we did have to track down another server to find ours once we got past 90 minutes. Overall, food was quite good, but given how bad the overall experience was, hard to recommend this place. Given the pattern of poor service and food, would hope the owners take notice and fix what seems to be a popular and fun place, but since these reviews go back several years, not sure how hopeful I am. I would try again if I heard they make changes, but otherwise, venture elsewhere in town. read more

Fantastic pizza, pasta and more! Pizza crust was really tasty as was the sauce. Crust was nice and bubbly; not too thick, not too thin! House salads were beautifully dressed and used a nice salad mix. (No iceberg here!) Fried pickles chips were crispy and just what I was craving! Delicious, fresh sweet ice tea. Spaghetti and Marinara was good, really hit the spot! We will definitely come again next time we are in town. read more

Small mom and pop feel. Really good food, prices weren't too bad. We will definitely stop back in when in town.

First night in town and we wanted some pizza. This was our stop. Must of hit it on a off night. The service was slow and a bit rude. Pizza was ok. We ordered their Supreme Version. Good size for a family of three. The crust was good and the sauce was decent. But, the taste all together was thrown off by what seemed to be rosemary. It was good, just kinda of unusual. read more

Great pizza. And you can't beat the wall of beers by the ounce. Very nice staff. This is a good family place to eat.

Pizza is great if you eat there. Not a place to pick up and go, unless you have an oven to warm it up. This is thin crust hand made and wood fired oven cooked. One of two good pizza places in Lexington, VA read more

Service was fantastic!!! Never had to ask to have my drink refit and my waitress was attentive to our needs. Building was rustic but fun. Love the set up and drink options. Had the Caprice salad to start with and it was pretty plain but the dressing was great. We then ordered the Farm Girl and the Buffalo Chicken pizzas. I was a little disappointed in these as they did now wow me as was recommended by a friend. Don't get me wrong they were fine but I expected more. Would be willing to give it another try. read more

While on vacation we visited Salerno's and glad we did. First the service was great, next the pizza was great, third the price was fair. We will definitely return to Salerno's in the future. read more

The food is great and consistent. The new renovations have modernized the space. Overall, a fun, casual hangout that I've enjoyed several nights. However, the wait for food is just too long. I usually never complain about waiting because I enjoy time spent with good company. And I'm happy to wait for good food. But time and time again this is an issue. Don't come if you're hungry. Wait time for your food will be at least 45 minutes after you've ordered. The host staff will seat you quickly. It's a good time if you're ordering drinks and appetizers. Wish I could give more stars because the food is quite tasty. But it's unacceptable when it's not a busy night and you're left waiting over an hour. read more

This place has a nice selection of beers on tap; self-dispenser style place with 32 beers. And the wood-fired pizza was awesome! If you like thin crust pizza, this needs to be one of your favorite pizza places. read more

He Said: The smell of wood-fired pizza wafting down the street is like free advertising and when we stepped inside the aroma was like a warm welcome. It was mostly quiet here on this Saturday afternoon, could be spring break, but it didn't feel dead with the ska music and the various TVs. Very friendly service coupled with a great beer list (serve yourself!) set this spot up to be a winner. She Said: Plenty of beers to try, and a welcoming space... we've found our Lexington, VA home-away-from-home. The Margherita pizza was quite good. A few more minutes in the oven, a better tomato, and fresh mozzarella would have made it fantastic. But it's as good a pizza as we've had in the past month or so. The game room is an added bonus. This would be a great place to bring kids. Potty Points: Five out of five. Very very clean. Lots of space. No complaints! read more

Great service! The pizza is amazing. Check out the tap wall for local brews, IPA's, and some ciders! Love the vibes here.

Salerno's is great if you like beer but that's about it. Food is very average and not worth the long wait. The long waits come even when the restaurant is relatively empty which is mind boggling. We've also had a few issues when it comes to dietary restrictions. They have gluten-free pizza and pasta but we've been denied gluten-free pizza on two separate occasions. When we ordered gluten-free pizza the first time, they apparently ran out of gluten-free dough. When we ordered a second time, the oven used for gluten-free pizza suddenly "broke". Far as we are concerned, Salerno's doesn't have gluten-free pizza. To make matters worse, they couldn't even split the checks properly. My recommendation is to come here for beer but Lexington has much more to offer food wise and with much better service. read more

After a long hike with a friend and my dog outside of Lexington I was looking for a drink, some food, and a place that would allow my dog to join us. After calling approx 5 restaurants in downtown Lexington Salerno's had everything we needed. We sat on the patio which was nothing special, but a nice little outside area. The service was great and they even were sweet to our dog. The pizza I ordered was delicious, stone fire, fresh crust. The drinks were so-so. My Moscow Mule was ginger ale and vodka and the red wine was obviously a fairly cheap house red, but was made up for by the giant serving. All and all a positive experience. I'd go again and skip the drinks to get a beer. read more

Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in the lexington area. Me and a friend go there at least twice a week for food and drinks. They don't even deserve 1 star. I'm leaving a review everywhere I can......do NOT use a credit/debit card at this place. They have charged me about 8 times and I only had 1 order!!! I've had to cancel my credit card and the restaurant will now be answering to the credit card company's investigator. Have fun with that!! The restaurant won't answer the phone, they won't answer private messages....... read more

I really want to like Salerno's because I genuinely like their pizza, but each time I try and eat there it is always an ordeal. On this occasion, I tried to call multiple times to place an order (bc covid) yet no one ever answered the phone. I then opted to make an order online using the pay pal form on their website. I placed my order (a single cheese pizza) and got the confirmation prompt back stating that it would take 30-45 min for the pizza to be ready. I arrived to pick up the pizza at the 40 minute mark and when I arrived they had not yet started making the pizza. I then proceeded to wait until the pizza came out of the over - another 15/20 more minutes. Again, I am fully sympathetic to the struggles imposed by covid, but this was not the first time I have had issues with Salernos. read more

I wasn't blown away by the quality or the price of the pizza. I think this place is catered to the W&L students, as it can be pricey.
