    Build your own pizza

We enjoyed our visit to Salerno's! It was not busy when we arrived midday, and our server was friendly. They have ample indoor seating and some outdoor patio seating, too. Street parking nearby. A large selection of drinks are on tap. We ordered two pizzas, a build your own and "nature boy" (add chicken). I thought the pizza was really fresh and the crust was soft. A delicious meal! One of my friends also got the chicken parmesan which they liked. We were just passing through on a road trip but I bet it is busier and a fun place to hang during the evenings/weekends especially with a college nearby.

My wife and I had dinner here on a Saturday evening. We had eaten here before and it was horrible!! But we had heard that management had changed and we should give it a try. Good decision!! The interior has been renovated and the food was really good. There is street parking and also a free public lot across the street. There is also indoor and some outdoor seating. It has a fairly wide menu. My wife and I had a greek salad each. She had a BLT and I had an angus burger. Both were excellent! Our waitress Claire was excellent. But the best part of all was the beer wall. You get a card from your server and you can go and get samples of whatever beer you want and when you find one you like, you can get a full pour. They probably had close to 30 beers. There were fruit beers, lagers, IPAs, ciders, stouts, etc. We are often in Lexington and this may be a new favorite place to stop!

    Sally supreme pizza!

We stopped by on our way down to Fancy Gap, and it was the perfect lunch spot. Huge variety of beers, ciders, etc and a huge selection of specialty wood fire pizzas; it took me ages to pick one because they all sounded amazing and creative. The service was wonderful! Literally every staff member we encountered while we were there was welcoming and kind. Food was delicious! Highly recommend!

Remnants of fried pickles. They were good but took so long.

Worst service ever. Waiters had a "Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp" theme costumes, which is bizarre. To bring a high profile sexual harassment and defamation case into a family friendly pizza shop is just weird. Our waitress walked by us, intentionally ignoring us, multiple times. Fried pickles appetizer took 30 minutes. Salad came out an hour after we ordered. Pizza tasted good, not great, but good enough. That is, until my dining companion bit into a chicken bone (see photo) hidden in her Hot Hunny pizza. Hostile waitress and dangerous bones in food. Don't come here if you're hungry. Heliotrope is better!

I really enjoyed Salerno's. We ordered 1 Supreme pizza to share as a little snack before going elsewhere for dinner in a few hours. It was so good that we ended up ordering 2 more and making it our dinner instead. We sat at the bar so our service was very prompt and personalized. When I asked how the card system worked for pouring a glass of the cider/beer/sour, the manager walked me over to the taps and took me through the whole process. I appreciated the time he took in assisting me and pointing out his favorites. A note on the renovations that previous yelpers have mentioned: My husband is from Lexington and he said that the pizzas were much larger for the same price before the renovation. I suppose they bumped up the prices to match the classier look, but regardless, we still enjoyed our time and the delicious food.

Fantastic pizza, pasta and more! Pizza crust was really tasty as was the sauce. Crust was nice and bubbly; not too thick, not too thin! House salads were beautifully dressed and used a nice salad mix. (No iceberg here!) Fried pickles chips were crispy and just what I was craving! Delicious, fresh sweet ice tea. Spaghetti and Marinara was good, really hit the spot! We will definitely come again next time we are in town.

Love the beer wall. Everything we have ordered has been good. Friendly and quick service. It's become our go-to place in Lexington.

This review is for takeout Tuesday run by the Southern Inn. This is the second time we got takeout…read more The first one was not too good, vegetables were raw and inedible, pork was so so. We decided to give it another try but this time will also be our last. We ordered the chicken and dumplings. What we got was 2 big containers of chicken broth with little scraps of chicken floating in it. It was like lousy chicken soup. The dumplings were not bad but when I found that some of the "chicken" was skin and even a bone I was disgusted. There was not even a half chicken breast total in the 2 orders. I don't know who is really doing the cooking for this takeout service but it is not good.

We started with the savory cheesecake, which was really more of a cold cheese dip. I was expecting a souffle like item which you would eat with a fork (like a cheesecake) but this was still good! It was delicious on the toasted bread and the tomato jam was good, despite my hesitation. We also got the fried brussel sprouts, which were incredible - perfectly crispy and served with a delicious aioli. I had the salmon club as my entree and kind of expected smoked salmon since it specified a bagel, but it was a cooked piece, which was kind of strange. I almost would have preferred smoked, which would've been easier to eat on a bagel. The entire thing was a little impractical to eat as a sandwich. I did enjoy the slaw, which had a nice vinegary taste. It was definitely the size of a full entree so don't let the "lighter fare" heading throw you off. I would probably come back if I were in the area!

Both were very good. I didn't take any pictures on Thursday but we went again tonight and he got the Ravioli and I got the Chicken Alfredo. Again, both were delicious. So, the kids and I surprised both of them and took them to eat dinner together as a family. This place had so many options !!! So, there is something for everyone in the family. Our food was delicious, the chicken was moist. Everything was flavored so well !!! It was hard not to eat it all. The waitress was so incredibly sweet. The kids kept changing their mind for their drinks and she wasn't pushy or in a hurry to walk away. She stayed to chat every now and then to make sure the boys had time to decide. She made sure our food was to our liking and she brought us everything we requested after our food. The place felt so warm and cozy. Kind of like when you're at your grandmas house or at your own house in your little cozy area or zone with your favorite snack and drink. At the entrance they have a huge board with the special of the day or week or deals. I would definitely recommend this place !!!
