    Quite the flop

Called ahead to order a small pizza to go as we wanted to compare this place to the pizza place across the street (see my Giuseppe's review) and boy were we disappointed. The crust has 0 flavor and absolutely no rise. I'm a fan of a thin crust pizza but this was different. It was so bad that we ended up heading back into town because we still needed dinner and didn't want to eat this. Really hope we just caught them on a bad day cause I otherwise feel sorry for this town's pizza options.

Fabulous pizza and good quality ingredients! Very friendly ladies

Fabulous pizza, grate quality ingredients! Nice workers! I could test the homemade pizza!

Food has consistently gone down hill. Today was the last day for me. Ordered an 8" meatball sub and got 5 1" meatballs with no sauce whatsoever, almost no cheese. Took the meatballs out of the roll and this is what I'm left with. After eating one meatball I realized they are just frozen Italian meatballs you could get from the grocery store. Used to love this place, don't know what happened.

Happy they delivered to the Wintergreen area. Ordered by phone and pizza and salad arrived within an hour. Pizza was warm. Thin style dough with a bit thicker crust. The salad was fresh and almost filled the container.

We're staying at Wintergreen Resort and did some groceries in the closest supermarket we could...just so happened this spot was next door! Perfect timing because we were really craving pizza for dinner. I was not expecting much, and I didn't even check Yelp beforehand. It was just 4 of us and a toddler and we ordered a 16 inch meat lovers pizza, a smaller pizza with olives, mushrooms and spinach and small cheese sticks for the baby. We all truly enjoyed our meal!!! It was delicious! My kind of pizza because I love thin crust. They were very pleasant and even informed us that they deliver to Wintergreen! Can't wait to try the Stromboli and de luxe pizza! We finished it all and it was just right!

Ignore the bad reviews. We came in and we're greeted right away by a friendly staff. We wanted to eat in and while there doesn't seem to be much for seating, we were all able (5 of us) to fit around a table. My 3 boys all stood to watch the guy make our pizza and he gave them each a small bit of dough and told them that if they flattened it out, he would bake it for them. So they each got their own little 1 1/2" pizza to go with our meal. They were so proud and excited! The pizza was delicious and we all left satisfied.

Pizza and subs were amazing. We came in late, thinking they closed at 10 not 9; and they told us to go ahead and sit. Very fast.

Pizza was overcooked and lacking in sauce and toppings. This is NOT New York style pizza.

This place is popular and there will be a wait, so plan accordingly. It's not terribly large but has a friendly family vibe. They turn the tables as fast as possible, but the wait is worth it. Next the food. We ordered a special combo which gave us the cheese bread (Fat & Sassy), any large salad on the menu, and any pizza for $50. It was about a $6 savings. It was more than enough for two. We took home most of the bread and the pizza. The Delmarva Shrimp Cobb was fantastic, especially with the lemon vinaigrette. The Little Mermaid Pizza was truly unique. Shrimp, roasted tomatoes, pesto, cheddar, Feta, and Mozz on their delicious thin crust. It was definitely a fork and knife pizza. As we watched around us, everything that came out of the kitchen looked great. Wings, mozzarella sticks, soups, Chinese inspired bowls. It's a varied menu and every plate around us was cleans or boxed to take home. Bonus. All the servers have been with the company for 10 years or more which says a lot about this organization and its management/ownership. Definitely plan a trip.

We weren't sure what this restaurant would be like, since we drove through a dark and narrow road to get there. Much to our surprise, this was a full sit-down experience, and we had to wait 30-40 minutes to be seated. We decided to share the TRIPLE THREAT COMBO! (49.99) which comes with cheesy garlic bread (their signature!), one large salad, and one large specialty pizza. This was a lot of food, and we had enough leftovers to feed another mouth and half. THE FAT AND SASSY Their menu claims that this is the "best garlic cheese bread ever". And indeed it was because I wolfed down seven pieces of that bread within 15 minutes. I love that this was practically a pizza -- round pizza dough topped generously with cheddar and whole cloves of roasted garlic. The cheesy grease and pungent aromatic flavors exploded in my mouth. After seven pieces, I knew I had to stop because there was other food to come. CAESAR SALAD This was a typical Caesar salad with above average Caesar dressing, but there was just way too much of it mixed in. Besides that, pretty solid! I would ask for the dressing on the side in the future. THE HEAVY HAND This is Dr Ho's version of the Meat Lovers pizza, which was topped generously with sopressata, capicola, Italian sausage, and other ingredients like shaved onions, mushroom, and variety of cheeses. We got this one because we wanted more protein, but unfortunately, with the amount of cured meat that was slathered on, it was overbearingly salty. After my first slice of pizza, I started taking meat off my slice because it was too much. Overall, 3.5/5, but bumping to a 4/5 because we were pretty sure we would have had a better experience if we chose a different pizza. Still, I'm happy we got to try a restaurant in the Charlottesville area that is popular and well-loved by locals. Also, fantastic pricing with honestly the best cheesy garlic bread I've ever had. I would recommend getting here ASAP especially during the weekends because they don't take reservations or call ahead orders for dine in.

Like, "did I just wander into a rustic resort?" levels of big and every corner has its own personality. First stop? The farm market. And listen... I could've spent my entire vacation budget right there. Shelves stacked with homemade canned goods, sauces, jams, salsa, pickled everything, and more pumpkins than Cinderella could handle. Total cozy-country heaven. The grounds are seriously gorgeous. You get these pockets of space that feel secluded and peaceful, almost like a secret beachy cabin retreat dropped into the Virginia mountains. There are tons of tables outside so you can sip and snack in the sunshine, plus a driving range, volleyball pits, and a giant "LOVE" sign that basically begs you to take a photo. Inside, the bar is warm, rustic, and charming the kind of spot that feels like it was built for good drinks and even better stories. They had a food truck the day we visited (I didn't see in-house food options), which just added to that relaxed, festival-by-the-lake feeling. Between the gorgeous scenery, the spacious layout, the drinks, and the vibes? This was easily one of my favorite stops on our travels. 10/10 would go back in a heartbeat.

I think my only real quibble would be the amount of cheese blanketing the chicken, but I might also be that rare bird that doesn't like a lot of cheese? Salad was good, but I think it would be improved by using mixed greens instead of iceberg and fresh olives instead of canned. But the beer had other ideas. As expected, it was excellent--cold, confident, and clearly in no mood to be rushed. Everything was clean and orderly. The burger arrived and did not disappoint. Honest, well-made, the sort of meal that reminds you why you ordered it in the first place. My wife's brisket sandwich, meanwhile, was everything brisket ought to be--tender, rich, and just indulgent enough to feel like a reward rather than a mistake. Fries came alongside, hot and crisp, doing their job without complaint or ceremony. And then, on the way out--as these things tend to happen--we stopped at the bar. That's where we met Vance. What followed was less a quick cocktail and more a conversation with drinks attached. The cocktails were excellent, but the company made them memorable. Vance makes a great adult beverage.
