Pi-Napo Pizzeria has fantastic Pizza. The crust, sauce, pepperoni, everything about the pizza was awesome! The service was great and fast. The restaurant has an Italian style decor with a welcoming feel I highly recommend!

Oh Pi! This place was (na)POsitively great! We stopped in on a Friday afternoon and were able to sit om their spacious outdoor patio. They had a great indoor/outdoor space which is great during the summer. We shared a pizza (it was big enough for 2-3 people) and it was great! They make them fresh and I love the balance of flavors of the Verdura. We also got a cannoli which had the perfect ratio of chocolate to pistachio, would go back just for these! Definitely recommend checking this place out! My only negative would be the parking is pretty limited but there are a few street parking spots if you're able to snag them!

A freshly made medium 10" pizza and soda for $12.45 plus tax is nearly unheard of these days. Absolutely delicious, with high quality ingredients and quick service. Plenty of indoor seating both indoor and outdoor. 10/10 highly recommend!

As a former New Yorker and an ooni pizzaiolo, I am very picky about pizza. This place exceeds my standards. I loved the picante pizza. I made a red pepper flake and herb mixture at the seasoning bar by the drink fountain to sprinkle on my pizza and it made it even better! Highly recommend. I also ordered most of their desserts for my friends and I to share. My favorites are the cannoli, the tiramisu, and the pistachio & ricotta cake. The chocolate cake is okay. I will definitely be back! The owner is very friendly.

Amazing fresh pizza! I was surprised that Charlottesville had this pizza gem! The pizza is so big, and you can see them make it right after you place your order. Service was super fast. They also have desserts (gelato, tiramisu, cannoli, etc.). It is casual dine-in (inside and outside) and wasn't hard to find a place to sit. Will definitely come back again!

Pi-Napo stands out amongst a plethora of excellent C'ville pizza joints. Authentic and superior ingredients, fantastic menu and a spacious and welcoming outdoor space combine to make this a must visit with your Hoo! The staff is super friendly and we really enjoyed our complimentary Canoli as first timers! Thank you and best of luck with future openings!!

An amazing Charlottesville pizza staple, this restaurant is located essentially on UVA grounds and has wonderful Italian desserts and delicious pizza! The espresso was tasty and bitter, the pizza was thin and soft, and it had a great balance of sauce, cheese, and toppings. I definitely recommend it if you find yourself in the area!

Delicious pizza!! I came here with my neice for some dinner and we were very excited. After looking at the menu, we ordered our meal at the cashier. We got a meat lovers pizza and I got the Palermo salad. First of all, the salad was insane. The homemade ranch on it was SO GOOD. We asked for an extra container and ended up dipping the pizza in it. The pizza was amazing as well! It's made right in front of you. It was so much fun watching the guys create the pizza and throw it into the brick oven. It was a well oiled machine. It felt like we had the inside scoop on how it all ran! Everyone was super friendly, too. Long story short, we will be returning to Pi-Napo again. It was absolutely amazing. I also want to try one of their desserts and gelato. YUM

Pro: online ordering, clean interior. Con: limited parking space. Passed by this restaurant many times and with so many positives review, I knew I had to give this place a try. Using the online ordering system I decide to order the meat lover pizza. It only took them about 10 minutes for my order to be ready. Upon entering the restaurant, it was clean and picking up the food was quick and easy. The pizza was thin, crispy, and a bit of char. The taste was very unique and different compared to your normal big chain pizzas. All in all, a place definitely worth trying if you are in the Charlottesville area.

I've had Pi-Napo on my list since it opened, and I'm so glad to have finally tried it. This pizzeria now tops my list of recommendations in Charlottesville! We ordered a pizza (the Peppe-- pepperoni) for pickup on a Thursday night. It was ready promptly, and when we swung by to get it, we saw the cannoli and realized we HAD to get some. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the pizza; coming from the DC area, Neapolitan pizza at around this price is typically smaller there. We got 8 large slices from this! It is clear this pizza is made with love and care. High quality pepperoni, basil, cheese, and the most perfectly chewy crust. The cannoli were similarly mind blowing! The pistachio cream was so flavorful, and the ricotta filling was rich; the perfect balance for the crispy shell. We will definitely be back; I've got my eyes on their tiramisu and pistachio ricotta cake, as well as several of their pizzas. It's a small shop but would be a nice place to sit and eat. There is outdoor seating too if the weather allows.

The location looked like an abandoned gas station. It's quite large inside, but I came at the end of the day for takeout. The vibe is more casual than the other prominent Neapolitan place in town. The cuisine certainly had some Neapolitan style and quality ingredients. I was surprised that they do a bigger size than most Neapolitan places; to finish a whole pizza in one go would be a stretch. It also came sliced (with a slicer that could have been cleaned after the other pizzas but wasn't), which seems like sacrilege but does have pragmatic value. The slight char of the crust, the hit of the basil, and the richness of unflavored cheese were all on point, however. A salad delivered blueberries and apricot dressing, which is a similar flavor combination to one I've ordered elsewhere so it must be a thing. It's good. Clear dietary markings helped as well. I didn't think it was the best in town, but I visited it because I wanted both quality and expediency and I could come again for that.

It's cool that the noodles are hand-made but they were very chewy to me. Maybe I'm just not used to home-made pasta but it was lacking. I appreciate that they have vegetarian options, however it seems like it's written by a meat-eater who thinks, "this is what vegetarians can eat!" Very limiting and not very creative (from a pescatarian). Pasta was ready very quickly which was nice but if it was rushed, it shows. $12 for butter noodles. Can't say I'll be going back.

I ordered several items to eat over a period of time, and got most of what they had that would interest me. It's the kind of place where vegetarian with cheese is possible but other more restrictive dietary needs may not find much. Their interpretation of garlic bread is a flavored pizza crust, which I don't like as much as a properly airy loaf of bread. The cacio e pepe could have use a bit more pepe, but I appreciated the al dente noodles texturally. While they brand themselves as a pasta place, their pizza had a tangy tomato hit and a ton of basil that I appreciated. Arguably the best item was the salad, which oddly claimed to be a traditional caesar but had shaved brussels sprout, marinated tomatoes, bread crumbs, and a vegetarian dressing. Which is to say, it was much better from my perspective than a traditional caesar. The ultimate amount of food for the money, in consideration that this place is pure takeout, did not wow me. Were I in Charlottesville, I would sooner seek out a chance to dine in somewhere nice or cook my own, but for a traveler, the food here satisfied a craving.

Thankfully, got the drink and were called in early about 15 minutes into the wait. That little surprise made things start off on a good note. Once inside, we sat at the bar since there weren't tables available and we were HUNGRY and cold! Even with the weather and a busy crowd, everything felt smooth and relaxed. AMBIANCE The place was small and cozy with a warm vibe that instantly made us forget the rain outside! The cool shallot-shaped lamps over the bar gave off soft light, making the whole space feel super calm and inviting. Sitting at the bar felt right choice for us for our first time -- close enough to the energy of the restaurant and people watching and seeing the pizzas get made but still comfortable! There's a soft buzz but cozy enough to chat and just feel at home. FOOD We ordered the Abruzzo pizza with beef and pork meatballs, fiore di latte, San Marzano tomato, basil, and pecorino. It was hearty and rich but still balanced. We also wanted to try the Prosciutto pizza, which was not the favorite but still good. The San Marzano tomato sauce for the Abruzzo was the star of the show. We were sad we didn't order another pizza with the tomato sauce to switch it up but oh well, another time right?! Loved the floppiness, the tomato sauce flavor, and the crust! Have to love the scissor-plate idea -- very clever and so easy. And size of these personal small-sized pizzas perfect for 2 people so we could have room for dessert and not have leftovers! We finished with the Zeppole "donuts" which were fried ricotta donuts tossed in cinnamon sugar with a hint of lemon (which I LOVED the lemon here and cinnamon sugar worked perfectly!). They were light, warm, crispy and just what you want at the end of a meal. The food was delicious, though definitely on the pricier side ($16-$18 each for the small pizzas, $9 for dessert. Still, everything felt thoughtful and worth it for the quality!

The flavor delivered as I would have hoped, with pure tomato tang, fresh basil, and a delectable charred crust on the core pizza I got. Adding a vegetable sandwich was a good decision in terms of taste, but either the preserved peppers they use or some other ingredient was so salty it took me a while to recover from even eating half of it. I do give them credit for offering sparkling water at a reasonable price. And of note, the budino dessert they offer, while described as pudding, is something that I learned is actually vegetarian (albeit with dairy and eggs), and delivered more excellent flavor. Overall, the amount I got for the money was not great, and while there were ample quality ingredients, I would sooner go back to eating in.
