Let me say that the actual idea and floor-plan are great. Want a whole family to be able to go out and eat any kind of food they'd like? Done. Parking is plentiful and nearby. Wait time from store to store is usually pretty short, but waiting for actual food can be 2 minutes to 15 depending on who you go to. For example, a son got pizza slices immediately while my trip to order and get Tom Kha soup took 18. The flavor is hit or miss depending on restaurant and what you order. I got a chicken salad from the chicken place and it was great. My daughter got fettuccini alfredo and declared it rich, but bland. All that said, you can't miss with the ice cream location. Went on a Friday night while visiting town. My family ate a delicious wood fired pizza, fresh beer was available at the Dairy Bar in the middle of the main space, and our little one enjoyed a huge waffle cone of ice cream while we enjoyed a fresh beer at Starr Hill. We were unfortunately disappointed with the pizza we ordered from Dino's. We ordered the BBQ chicken pizza with pineapple and onions plus the white pizza with pesto and prosciutto. The amount of onions on the first pizza was definitely overkill and it would have been nice if they were cooked in anyway vs being raw. The pesto pizza was good but very salty. A neat food court concept with a variety of options ranging from salads, pizza, ice cream, burgers, sandwiches, etc. They also have a bar! The parking lot has 1 hour free parking but then you have to pay utilizing the ParkMobile app. I ended up paying 2.75 for an additional 30 minutes. The ambience and the concept were neat. I feel like more seating, trash cans, and a place to put trays when done would be good additions. Maybe a place to get water that's more accessible than the water fountains tucked away near the bathrooms. I ended up going to Chimm Street and got the chicken basil entree for 11.50. It has a bit of a kick which I appreciated. I wasn't able to finish it and the portion size was alright. I don't think I'd order it again though. It is great for groups of friends or large families as well, though I enjoy a solo meal from here often. This place truly has everything you need in one large space. I highly recommend the pasta and the latin food, both are out of this world good. The prices aren't too bad, but can get pricey at some stations. Seating is plentiful but can be scarce on busier days such as weekend dinner and lunch. There are bench style seating as well as small tables scattered throughout the space. So I want to say thank you if you are being safe and supporting the businesses. I had the amazing raspberry cone at moo through as well as the most delicious soul food at Angelic's kitchen. I know she took a big chance to start a brick and mortar... but I'm so glad she did. If you're looking for some amazing fried chicken, fried fish and shrimp... it's a must eat! First of all, where was this during my undergrad?!? It's so crazy to see how much has changed since I graduated. We stopped by here for a dinner reservation at South and Central for my brother's graduation. Loved the vibe of this food hall which featured a mix of fast-casual and sit down dining. My personal favorites are Starr Hill Brewery and South and Central. I love that there are so many cuisines to choose from as well as multiple options for drinking! I love the variety of stores and restaurants that this location has. I came fairly early on a Sunday morning at a time where the Eleva coffee shop and Angelica's were the only stands open. I ordered a vanilla latte with oatmilk (made very well but still not as good as mudhouse in my opinion) and pancakes from Angelica's. The pancakes smelled SO heavenly as soon as I received the takeout container. Maybe I was really hungry, but it was the best southern-style pancakes I've had! I saw a wine and cheese shop, a Thai food vendor, a bakery, a Moothru (best ice cream on I-29), a pizzeria, a sandwich vendor, and a bar (my friend said the drinks here are amazing). I also hear that there will be an all vegan vendor opening up soon! I can't wait to come back to Charlottesville to enjoy this one-stop shop when all the vendors open their stands. read more

I love a good food hall and was pumped to go to the Dairy Market! This building and spot goes all the way back to 1912 and is a beautiful building that is well laid out. They have a bunch of food options and two shops right within. It is the best spot to stop in and eat with friends because everyone can get what they want. Pizza, burgers, tacos, pasta, ramen, you name it. I ended up having a wrap from Dino's and it was great. I got the Caesar wrap with avocado added and fries. Everything was made right there and I devoured it. The location as a whole also has plenty of seating, and is incredibly kid friendly. read more

We met with my wife's cousin here in the dairy market. It was a great place to hang out as there were so many selections. This include burgers, Filipino food, Mediterranean food, Japanese food, Thai, vegetarian. We came here at around 7:30 p.m. and most of the Thai food was already gone. I ordered the Filipino food which is very authentic for this Mediterranean bowl in the wood fired place. The best part is that there is ice cream which is Moo Thru. I think it'll only be a matter of time before this is a 5 star place! This is a really awesome addition to Charlottesville and a great distancing space in COVID times. Open market/food hall type of establishment that has plenty of spaced out seating. Honestly, I think a lot of people like me are just super excited to have Moo Thru closer and in town. Not only does Dairy Market have this, but also a bunch of other delicious restaurants, including Chimm, Dinos, and Angelics Kitchen. I believe that Manilla St is also coming soon - the best filipino food around. For drinks, there's currently Milkman's which is serving up very fancy cocktails and a few beers on draught. For beer lovers, Starr Hill is working on opening up too! With several places still on the way to opening, this place has a lot of potential.
