This mall is so nice I really enjoyed shopping here. There is so much of a variety of different places to choose from. The prices were all reasonable so many clearances in these stores. Everyone that I interacted with was friendly especially the people inside giving out massages. The mall was clean from what I seen. Need to be updated. Carried my grandson to the play area it looks as it was not taken care of daily . Maybe once or twice a month. The mall was quite with some families hanging about. A lot of people were gathered in the food court eating, so supposedly the food is good. The store front windows were clean and shiny. The clothes were nicely hung and neat. read more

Disclaimer: I have never been a fan of the mall. I only come here when necessary. Today I had an early morning meeting with a new group. I had a decent ride in and had to use the facilities once I arrived. That didn't happen. They shocked me how disgusting both men's rooms were. I'm talking abandoned building conditions. Lights half out and flickering and utter filth everywhere. These are worthy of Out of Service signage. I'm embarrassed to write this review. Wow smh. Word of advice. I don't live in the area, but I've visited this mall a few times to shop at JCPenney, Macy's, & Children's Place. A great deal of their stores are closed down, so it kind of looks like a ghost town. It's eerily quiet to me. The staff is friendly in most of the places I've shopped at & the mall is clean and tidy. There's still a good selection of stores open that I like, and there's always my fave, Chick-fil-a. Due to Covid, masks are required. The mall's hours have also changed. Scary. I have been there watching a movie with my church during Christmas and a shooting was present. We went on lockdown and could not leave(obviously). A lot of the stores are a bit pricey. A lot of times there has been long line which is understandable but the line could have been cut shorter into separate lines. read more

Based on a lot of the other reviews I was expecting to find a rapidly decaying relic mall full of vacant stores and dirty. Instead I found a historic mall with a lot of character! It is clear that in a different time Southpark Mall might have been much more vibrant but it doesn't have the pox of vacant stores that many other old school malls have. I found the storefronts and kiosks generally full and with a mix of brand store and interesting local ones too. I particularly liked some of the distinct architecture here, clearly from a different time but that gives it a more rustic feel. It also is surpassingly walkable as it's very rectangular shaped. Overall I was very pleasantly surprised to discover this gem on the Tri-Cities between Petersburg and Colonial Heights. I actually in many ways like it better than the only other mall in the region, Chesterfield Towne Center (although the food court at Chesterfield Towne Center is better). This place actually has a Regal/movie theater in it unlike Chesterfield Towne Center. read more

This is a very old mall. It is in need of an update and cleaning. There's a movie theater inside and they have your basic stores like Macy, JCPenny's, Yankee Candle, Bed Bath and Body Works, and etc. Most stores are closing down and one of them that recently closed down was Sears. I usually come and get whatever I need and leave. It's probably one of the smallest malls I've been to in Virginia, but it's pretty easy to navigate from point A to point B. There was a incident where a shooting happened in December at the PacSun just before 1:30 PM. Someone got shot in the chest. Another incident that I remembered that happened here was a 46-year old accused of secretly recording video of a 19-year old girl changing underwear inside SouthPark mall on Christmas Eve. One person was found before 3 PM in the parking lot outside Macy's with a gun wound inside their car. I don't feel safe coming to this mall because there's just always something bad happening here no matter what time of day it is. I wouldn't feel safe letting any kids roam the mall by themselves, but I believe there's a policy where you can't let kids under 18 do that here. There's more security here now which is great. There's just not that many stores or food choices here. read more

Not the largest mall, but having a movie theater brings it up a couple of notches. You can certainly get most of your shopping done here if that's what your mission is. The food court is a big plus. They seem to have more sporting goods stores and shoe stores than other types of businesses. This is quite unusual for me coming from california, but i understand business demands in different areas of the country. I've only ever been here on the weekends, and even then it's not very busy. I can't imagine it being overcrowded and anyone having issues finding a parking spot. Lots of cabs parked out front waiting to pick up their next clients. Caters to soldiers training at Fort Lee. The mall can definitely use an update soon. read more

Wikipedia tells me that Southpark Mall contains 76 stores and was established in 1989. So you won't find Cartman here; this mall was apparently built before the TV show existed. What you will find here instead are 76 mostly boring stores that don't really have anything interesting. It's such a shame too, because this mall is not that small, and it has all this space that could have been used for some cool shops, but there's nothing intriguing about the vast majority of the businesses here. I've been here twice, and it's a pity that on both occasions, I struggled to find anything fun to do. Seriously, it's a medium-sized mall with 76 stores and there's nothing to do here. I found myself walking by most of the stores because I could tell just by a single glance that I couldn't find anything there for me. It's like an entire weekend gone to waste because this place couldn't have anything more exciting than a movie theater, a couple of restaurants, and Spencer's. Yeah, Spencer's is probably the most interesting store in the whole mall. Everything else is a bunch of entirely bland shoe/clothing stores that are all the same, and you wouldn't need to come to a mall to get what they offer here. But since everything is arranged in the form of a mall, it creates the illusion that you can have a great time hanging out or taking a date here. Unfortunately, that's really not the case. Go see a movie, grab some food, and then leave. That's pretty much all this mall is good for. read more

I drove all the way down here from RVA because its Macy's had a suit in my size that I needed and couldn't find at any RVA location. It's a mall. Very 80s. No updates. No appeal. Desperately in need of a remodel to appeal to today's tastes that incorporate indoor/outdoor spaces and greenery. read more

Having a little time to kill before heading to work, I decided to visit this mall. Traffic concerns was the first thing I noticed. The marked exit for the mall off of I 95 is congested with traffic signals and lots of other stores such as Wal mart, Target, HHGregg, Sam;s Club, etc. There is actually an easier way to get to the mall via the next exit up on I 95. Nothing spectacular about the mall. Rather simplistic decor in the main mall areas. Good overall flow inside to find the stores - not lots of long hallways off the main line to try and find the stores. Unlike a lot of larger malls, most storefronts seemed to have tenants. Sears and JC Penney were the main anchors, and several of the chain stores one expects were there as well. Nothing spectacular, but it accomplished my goal of killing some time. read more

I really like Southpark Mall. It's not huge, but big enough for everything you need. The standard "anchor" stores - Macy's, JC Penney, Sears, and Dillard's. There is also a nice (looks relatively new) movie theatre and new Dick's Sporting Goods. The mall is clean and parking is a "circle" which means you are never parked too far away. I also like that they have a spa here that takes walk in massage appointments (not too easy to find!). I have been to this mall every weekend and a few times during each week since I moved here. I agree - I don't have enough going on! read more

There's a mall where I live named Southpark Mall; it is one of the high end malls. So stopping by at this Southpark, it was an entirely different experience. With some staple stores, you can get by in a pinch. However, you can also tell it's gone through some tough economic times as well with vacant stores and an interior that could us some updating. The location itself is really great! Just around the corner from the interstate, lots of choice restaurants nearby...what more could you ask for?! read more

I try to never go to this mall, even though it's the closest one to me. There are barely any stores in here for my tastes, and if I do shop here it's generally only at JCPennys and sometimes Body Central. Most people seem to come here only to hang out and "hook up" or try to hook up with someone. Every few feet you have people harassing you trying to sell you something you don't want, and the mall is just not classy. The majority of people there are teenagers or young adults that are just hanging out making a rukus and being annoying. Go to Short Pump or Stony Point, it's worth it. This place is crap. The only reason to go here is if you're going to the movie theater, which is actually a really nice one. read more

It is a small town and not a big population so you have to look at your expectations. That being said the mall has a good variety of stores so depending on what you're looking for, you should be happy. When I come here to get different items the mall doesn't let me down. I noticed that the mall stays pretty clean, the parking lot is pretty clean and I don't see a security presence but the place is relatively safe. There's going to be a lot of opportunities to get whatever you desire, so give it a shot and enjoy your shopping experience. read more

This place has too few stores, very little variety in the stores it does have, boring decor, and the worst food-court you'll ever see in a non-dead mall. A new holiday low for me: gift shopping en route to my family's house. Wanted to stop at Arundel Mill in MD; but happened to spot this right off the interstate in Virginia. Mistake. Of course it was swarming with fellow last-minute fails. But the lack of traffic lights or people directing flow, it was a complete cluster. We arrived accident-free and proceeded to hunt for an appropriate item for my grandmother. Given the tattoo store, lack of high-end anchors or specialty shops, and kisoks selling tie-dye screenprint tees you might see at the beach, it was not an easy task. I don't think my 80-year-old grandma will be wanting ink anytime soon. The layout is befuddling. It's one story and super spread out. All this traipsing around made more complicated, of course, by the fact that slow shoppers were out enjoying their day off and ambling all over. Southpark is a small mall compared to other malls in the area but it is one busy mall. It has alot of detached businesses around the mall like Walmart & K Mart just to name a few. Traffic around around there is a mad house at times. read more

There aren't much of selection to shop or anything but they have a nice theatre onsite. If you are stuck at the Army Base for while, it feels good to walk around this mall. Other than being a civilian, there isn't really much to look at this mall. I decided to give five stars on the places that allowed me to kill time. If you are in military and it is first time going off base, it will feel good. read more

This mall does not have the greatest selection of stores. I've been to quite a few malls and there is nothing exciting about this spot. Yes, they have a Macy's and JC Penny and some other big stores. The smaller shops are just average. This isn't a luxurious mall. I'm actually surprised it doesn't even have a Starbucks in the mall itself. There are about 5 versions of pretty much the same store....The food selection is blah. There aren't any interesting shops here that would really oblige me to come here. They need to update their retail game by putting in more specialty stores, there's too many stores appealing to 14 year olds and sneaker fanatics. Some times it's nice to be able to walk into a store you like rather than having to do all your shopping online because there isn't one of your favorite stores near you. The only reasons I come here is for the theater, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Gamestop. read more

The associates are not helpful or friendly. You have to walk around to find someone for help or to get in a fitting room. I went to the firearms Dept & a young Caucasian rep working that depart was rude & didn't assist me. Nevertheless, He was readily available to assist a male of his same race. He didn't ask if I needed help & when I asked a question. He gave a quick answer as if he didn't want to help. He did say in a joking manner "Guns are not toys." This is the most racist location that I've been to trying to get assistance being of a different race. Not to mention, they harass the African American teenagers in the store & ask their ages while they are walking through this location on the weekends. I will not shop or spend my money here again. I recently stopped by Southpark Mall while I was visiting the Petersburg area. I only went to a few shoe stores and Macys. The Macys is very spacious and well stocked. It's not many big named stores at this mall but you can fulfill your shopping needs.The mall atmosphere was average. It's plenty of parking around the mall. The food court options are limited but chain restaurants are located close by(main road by the mall). I usually come to Southpark Mall for Macys and shoe stores. Lots of military students here as there is a base nearby. Overall a nice experience. Glad we stopped.

Do not go to this mall. The atmosphere is just awful. Employers do not care about their stores nor customers. Birds fly freely across the mall and a scent of baby diapers has been present in this mall for years. read more

I really dislike all the little kiosk s that are in the middle and right near the entrance. i actually had a lady touch my back and start massaging it with one of the spa products she was selling. ... space violation....sorry but im a little crazy in my old age and i dont like people touching me. Lots of stores to shop at, they have a children s place,paint and play arcade and even a tattoo shop!! Interesting. Hubs and I were in the area picking up a new dog friend for Sasha over Labor Day weekend. I had taken a half day off work, thinking it would take us forever to get down there. Well, it didn't. So we thought we would kill some time at this mall. It's crawling with people in the military. I don't know if it was because it was Labor Day weekend, but every ten seconds Hubby was pointing them out (he's in the Marine Corp). The stores are nice, but kind of an odd collection of stores. VS and a Sears? In the malls I've been in, there's fancy and not so fancy. This one is somehow in the middle. Obviously I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but wouldn't turn it down if it was my last choice. read more

I'm not really a fan of this mall. I normally only go when I really need something. It's a small mall that mainly caters to the college kids in the area. They don't have too many stores or that great of a variety. The food court is ok though. The parking is awful on weekends but that's to be expected. This mall is terrible and I avoid it at all cost. I would rather use the gas and go up North rather than go here. The Macy's is definitely a low tier Macy's, so don't expect much from there. I work there its ghetto. Bathrooms always nasty. Security lately has had problems with crowd control in 2 different situations that were an emergency..one happening last night. Our lights went off and madness happened. I no longer feel safe here. CHPD are too busy going after speeders and tickets for revenue to help us much. There were no back up generator lights when we lost electricity and a mob rule mentality ensued. The employees there were very scared. There was a situation with an angry crowd sweeping the mall several months ago in droves that vandalized. You will not see this on the news as CH doesn't want the bad publicity. Ask the employees we know. I don't even shop in this mall if I can help it go to Stoney Point or Chesterfield Town Center. read more
