Mexican employee there in the afternoon is always extremely rude to me. I work for RMC and not sure why he treats me the way he does. Christian's Pizza on the corner is another late night spot. Unlike many others, I opt to eat here during the day as well. The tortellini pizza is one of my favorites and chicken peppers as well when they have it. The slices are big and the prices are fair. It's a little hectic since this is not the original owner and the quality is lower than the downtown mall but it's still a great place to stop into, especially for late night cravings. Oh, and don't even bother looking at the menu because nothing on it is correct. Just look through the glass at whatever's best. There are sometimes lines out the door at around 2am. First of all, all the pizzas were covered and when I asked to see the pizzas, he goes, "what you want?" and doesn't open show it until after asking few times. I came here on a rainy cold Sunday afternoon, so there wasnt anyone here but one guy sitting and eating their meal. I waited about a minute or so before someone came out from the back and I ordered 2 plain cheese slices. They were ready pretty quickly and I had the place to my self at that point. Stopped in after a UVA football game for pizza. I had the tortellini and pesto great taste, the pesto was mild and not overbearing. We also ordered the a pepperoni. The pizza is pretty good the sauce is okay, you can order by the slice or you can order a 17' for 8 people. The place is not very clean in my observation. This location is next to a sports bar on the corner and you have lots of students that frequent this shop as the prices a relatively cheap. But it still taste amazing the tomatoes were fresh and and so was the basil.You could defiantly taste the acidity and sweetness of the tomato.The pizza had a nice crunch on the bottom even with the juice drippings of the tomato. I've ordered the avocado feta pizza at least 10 times in my life and it never fails to impress. In general, I'm a fan of Christian's Pizza and their multiple locations in town, but I recently had an awful experience at Christian's on the corner and will never return there. At 10pm I called to order a pie to go. It was a simple order, half cheese, half pepperoni and mushroom. I was told it would be 15 minutes. I arrived about 20 minutes later and was told it would be "4 more minutes". I then watched what appeared to be the only employee on site, take a few cold slices from the display and toss them in the oven. He then grabbed a few more and sprinkled some toppings on them and also tossed them in the oven. I thought, he can't really be trying to assemble my pie from cold slices, can he? A few minutes later he pulled these slices from the oven, attempted to assembled them in a box, as I watched, and then gave me the box. He said, sorry, I can't make a half and half pizza, this is the best I can do. While he let me leave with this box of pizza for free, it was absolutely not what I ordered and driven over there to pick up. Instead I was given - bunch of soggy slices. Two of these slices had either broken or were half eaten. The "pepperoni and mushroom" side of the pizza didn't contain a single slice of pepperoni. Oh, and there was unmelted cheese all over the pizza. I was hungry and have enjoyed the pizza from Christian's on the corner before so I attempted to eat the only decent looking slice, but it was just awful. I threw away the entire "pie", or collection of slices wedged together in a box. This was an absolutely pathetic excuse for a pizza pie. I will not return to Christian's on the corner.I read more

Why I wouldn't go here during the day-time- The place is a bit divey. And I'm usually not a thin crust fan and it's overall a bit greasy. Redeeming qualities- Lots of topping options, open after bars close, decent quality for already being prepared as they heat it up in the oven right before you take it away, and an affordable price considering the ginormous size of the slice. My hubby and I ate here around 10:00 pm on a Wednesday night. We almost skipped this place because of the mediocre star-rating on Yelp. We were so glad we gave them the benefit of a doubt. We ordered a whole pie at $20 with any topping - half Supreme and half Margherita. The pizza was DELICIOUS! They have oregano as a condiment and it really kicked up the flavor. The young man behind the counter did not seem too enthused to be there, and after we waited for our pizza (about 20 minutes) and saw at least a dozen customers order slices, we understood why. This place is designed for the long lines though, so accommodating so many people is not a problem! The pizza here is so nice when it's hot out of the oven (which it is). It's crust is crispy and served in large Costco-sized slices. And so many varieties to choose from! The hawaiian pizza is packed with large slices of ham and chunks of pineapple. So delicious, which is why it's always packed. The spicy chicken and peppers is topped with flavorful, moist pieces of chicken and fresh, fresh green and red peppers. The slice I had - ham and pineapple - wasn't too bad but wasn't too great either. The crust was crispy, but the toppings were lacking and there wasn't enough cheese or sauce. Christian's is infamous for being the hotspot for late night pizza. The place is most likely to be packed at night during the school year. The slices are cheap and usually one can get the job done. The ones that I like the best are the plain cheese and tortellini (there's pasta in the pizza). Objectively speaking, the quality of the pizza is average. If you're a UVA student then you will come here at least once during your time at the university, but you are less likely to come after you graduate/visit Charlottesville. read more
