Dr Hos Humble Pie was one of the best things my husband and I ate during a weekend getaway in the Charlottesville area. We tried the sweet corn and bacon pizza and both loved it! We ended the night with the hot milk cake, and vanilla ice cream which was also delicious. Service was great and the food came out quickly considering the restaurant was packed. We can't wait to come back and try the breadsticks!

Some of the best pizza! Don't let it being attached to a gas station fool you! Great service, unique pies and their subs were great as well. We showed up 20 minutes before close on a weekday, but were never rushed to order or eat. A hidden gem if you're heading down route 29!

We were road tripping through the Charlottesville area and Humble Pie appeared on our radar ~ glad we experienced it to-go! Friendly service coupled with delicious pizza and salad. Big thanks for offering a great gluten free crust!

A solid 4/5 pizza. We did takeout and tried the humble pie. Wait time wasn't too bad (15 minutes) considering the restaurant was packed. Surprisingly the ranch was really good here. Elite ranch. If you like ranch with pizza, try it here.

Known for their specialty pizzas, my wife and decided to try the Italian Stallion-awesome food. Service was fast and friendly and helpful in picking a great Za! Happy Hour forced us to get a few drafts with dinner. Ambiance is retro gas station which really works for this local restaurant.

Very good pizza ! I saw the sign and turned hard so I didn't miss it! The small pizza was out in about 10 min. The spinach salad had plenty of flavor and I slight heat to it I think from the blue cheese or balsamic drizzle. The candied pecans were a nice touch. Pizza crust was nice and crunchy and I loved the sauce! Great staff how we're patient with my indecisiveness!

Meatball Sub. Absolutely awesome! Sorry, I was so hungry that I lost my cool and ate most before I thought about taking a pic.

Run, don't walk! This place has been in my collection of bookmarks to try. This past weekend I finally got to it. Man, we're we so happy and full leaving. It was so good! You would miss this place if you weren't paying attention. It's part of a gas station and two level office like building on 29 headed into C'ville. The service and food were both outstanding. People were very nice. We were first timers here so we inquired as to what stands out. The meatball sub was exactly what you want. Hand made meatballs. The fries rock. Oh and they serve draft beer and wine. We got two different pizza. Both were excellent. The crust is addictive dipped in their garlic ranch dressing. The sausage has a little kick to it too. We will most definitely go back sometime soon. Great work folks. Keep doing what you are doing. You rock!

Plenty of fresh spices were on display in the tiny shop, which has a couple of indoor and outdoor seats. I found them offering a vegan breakfast menu, which offered the sort of platter I rarely find available for this dietary niche, including breakfast potatoes, a tofu scramble, a piece of some relatively inoffensive veggie sausage, and bread with what I forgot was not butter. A matcha latte has some interesting sweetener that didn't quite exceed my tolerance and was over coconut milk. It was a pricey lunch, but I could not accuse them of failing to deliver on what I understood the promise of the place to be.

Everything I tasted was delicious and thoughtfully made. I got the Buddha bowl, which came with roasted sweet potatoes, tempeh, curried chickpeas, brown rice and kale. Eating it felt like a vitamin injection. To drink, I got the hot golden milk, which came with lots of turmeric and ginger. My dining companions ordered different things off of the menu and let me take bites: spring rolls (yum, especially with the sauce), empanada (my favorite), falafel (great) and soup (I didn't taste). They also offer vegan desserts, which I was tempted to try but was stuffed from my healthy lunch. The restaurant itself is very small with not a lot of seating. I'd say maybe eight people can sit down inside, but there are some tables out on the sidewalk for outdoor seating.

My husband and I split the nachos, and I ordered the tomato bisque and grilled cheese. The nachos were HUGE - like 6 people could have easily shared them - but they were so good, completely loaded with cheese, salsa, pickled onions and jalapenos, beans, and grilled chicken. We barely put a dent in them but not for lack of trying. The grilled cheese and soup were also really tasty. I wish I was less full and able to enjoy it more. Our server was great, and the outside area is lovely. I definitely want to try more of their alcoholic options, and other food options, next time I am in the area.

She did a good job of managing several tables' needs. -Philly cheesesteak was pretty good, I'd give it a 6/10 -truffle fries were DELICIOUS. Very garlic-y in the best way -chili cheese fries were good Only complaint: -my friend wasn't a fan of the brisket grilled cheese bc she said the brisket was a little too fatty and not the 'melt in your mouth' kind of fat, but 'chewy hard to swallow' kind of fat Overall good experience!

It has been a safety lifeline, but also very convenient when on the road. My husband and I were on our way to DC and we placed our lunch order with this Chopt in Charlottesville as it was on the way. They provided real time updates, and our food was ready, bagged, and on shelf by the time we arrived. Chopt offers all kind of salads and bowls as well as the ability to make and customize your own creations. You get decent size salad and to-go orders come in a resealable plastic container. My go to is the Asian Crunch Salad (FreeBird grilled chicken, rainbow carrots, broccoli, pickled red onions, crispy shallots, romaine, cabbage & cilantro blend) with Sesame Ginger dressing. I also added edamame because I love them. With each order you have the option for an included slice of bread. It's a nice and bright salad, lots of vegetables, not heavy, and I found easy to eat in the car. My husband likes the Kale Caesar Salad (Parmesan, Homemade croutons, kale & romaine) with Creamy Caesar dressing.

"I'm gonna open up a kitchen that focuses on selling food using the best ingredients available, and…read morekeep that standard consistent through the various offerings I'll provide. I'm gonna have the best food around or else I won't offer it" - what I'd imagine the owner of Trading Post said to himself when he opened up shop. There are two types of people that open up restaurants: one does so in order to make money. The other to share their joy of good food with their community. The Trading Post falls under the latter

From the VDACS on July, 15, 2020 (regarding food safety) -…read more"The Trading Post is out of compliance in many areas, and we have a follow-up inspection scheduled; they are in our "compliance process." I got diarrhea from just reading the 3-page report. All kinds of health violations with most of them being repeat violations. I have never seen a report worse than this one. Spooky Action ________ To: The Virginia Department of Agricultural and Consumer Services (VDACS) Date-Time: July 11, 2020, 7:00PM EDT I just noticed a Yelp review re: The Trading Post. It's from 12/18/2017 but it is the sort of thing I would expect when dealing with a gas station sandwich shop. The problem is magnified by the fact that The Trading Post is a hub for area tradesmen, many of whom do not wear masks to protect themselves from Covid-19. So it's an easy path from customer, to their breathed-upon money, to the cashier, to that cashier also spewing his/her no-mask oral spray and Covid-19 fingers onto sandwiches, to the customer's stomach, to the emergency room and, finally, to the graveyard. All because some poorly trained individual couldn't be bothered or doesn't take this matter seriously. I have to agree with the reviewer that it is absolutely deplorable if the people at The Trading Posts are not, at least currently, taking this matter seriously. Questions: * Has any VDACS staff addressed this issue with The Trading Post? * Is VDACS requiring food handlers to wear masks and gloves? * If so, are there fines for noncompliance? * Does VDACS have any view about the The Trading Post's current health awareness? * What do I do if I witness open-food handling w/o masks or gloves? Note: I will reevaluate this review after receiving a response from VDACS.
