Yum! We love the villa and their food is delicious and well made. This is classic breakfast diner food, so don't expect an avocado toast, frittata, charcuterie board vibe. This is a simple, no frills, pancake egg hash brown coffee kinda joint. This is NOT brunch - it's breakfast. No complications, just simple good food. My boyfriend's two favorite things are the biscuits and gravy and the French toast. He gets it every time and it's always good. I usually get a combo breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage links, corned beef hash and hash browns. Can't be beat! The food is hot and delicious. The prices are totally reasonable so you'll have to wait awhile if you come in person especially on a weekend. Expect to wait up to an hour. If you don't want to do that you can also order delivery which I've done a few times. Overall, this is a great spot for simple hot and delicious breakfast! read more

We were looking for breakfast heading out of UVA family weekend and it this hit the spot! So much so, we forgot to take pictures of the food. Highlights include the 1) eggs: whether sunny side up or scrambled, delish and well-seasoned, 2) accompaniments on the table: jelly, butter, syrup, half and half, sugar, salt and pepper, hot sauce...didn't have to ask, 3) service was overworked but really kind and as responsive as they could be, 4) menu variety: they have something for everyone. Drawbacks: none. That all being said, this is absolutely solid but nothing unique to any diner. (That would be my only suggestion...like Penn state diner has grilled sticky buns...a unique dish would make this a stand-out) read more

My new favorite diner! Great food, great prices. We picked up breakfast to go and were pleasantly surprised with the quality. If you're looking for an affordable, chill breakfast, this is the place! We ordered 'The Wahoo' with strawberry pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese, and bacon, and the Greek omelet with an english muffin, as well as hashbrowns. Everything was clearly fresh and perfectly cooked-- a pet peeve of mine is when eggs and bacon are overcooked (they often are), and neither were here! The Greek omelet had tons of feta (the way I like it), and the english muffin seemed homemade. I have my eyes on the pecan pancakes for next time! Our order was ready within about 15-20 minutes of ordering, and the employee who I met when I picked up my order was very kind. There are some benches to wait outside which gives me the impression they get busy. It's a cute place, and I appreciate that the tables inside are not crowded too closely together. Parking fills up, but there is apparently more behind the neighboring Zaxby's. read more

I wouldn't say the food or cooking is amazing, but the variety of dishes hit the spot for my various breakfast food cravings.   I ordered the Super Big Complete Breakfast-- Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Toast, Hash Brown (and it came with Coffee and a small Orange Juice). I was happy with my order! And I liked the variety of different breakfast items as well as the orange juice and coffee that came with my dish. I wanted a little bit of orange juice but also coffee to wake me up that morning, so the order was perfect for me. Only reason it's getting 1 star is because our server was so sweet. Cleanliness and food are a zero. There was a dead fly lodged in my menu, the hashbrowns tasted like cardboard, fruit was not fresh at all, mushy and the crepes and omelet was so bland. On my recent trip to Charlottesville, we stopped here for brunch on our way out of town. Place was packed! Had about a 30-45 minute wait, but the staff was friendly and they managed it well, calling my phone when our table was ready. Basic diner fare - no frills, good prices. I couldn't decide, so I went with a more traditional breakfast plate and the chocolate crepes (which were HUGE!!!!). Everything was tasty. Service was good. After two days of rehearsals and a wonderful wedding I looked for a late morning breakfast. The Villa Diner was a recommendation from UVA patrons. It was a great place to go even though the meal started after a short wait at the bar. The menu was full of great, well organized meals. We picked the first and third choices of the breakfast listing. You notice immediately the family run business's attention to detail. Eggs, fantastic cornbeef hash, biscuits and juice for me; perfect pancakes and crispy bacon for my wife really hit the spot. All this topped with a wonderful cup of coffee, which got refreshed five times, put this meal over the top. I need to compliment the staff. The food was perfectly fine. However, I will not be back because of how rude my server was. Arianna did not seem to have time to hear me finish my order before constantly cutting me off as if she did not even want to talk to my table in the first place. Initially, we gave her the benefit of the doubt as we had waited 30 minutes to get a table and assumed she was stressed and busy. Nope! She had more than enough time to constantly check in on tables around us, didn't even bring our food to us, and didn't not talk to us once after taking our orders until we asked where we could get butter for our pancakes and she proceeded to show us where the butter was and took it out and threw it on our table. My partner and I are not people who like to ever give bad tips, especially since we both have experience in the service industry. I am much more likely to give a 30% tip than a 0%. All other people we talked to seem to be perfectly nice though. Arianna has earned this one star review all by herself and has memorably done so as I will not be returning and encouraging others around me to not come as well. Oh, and to mention, it did feel a little bit like we were being treated differently because we were a different ethnicity than the tables around us that were receiving significantly better service. read more
