This is probably not the best burger you will ever have in your entire life, but it is pretty darn good and you will not beat the price. I have been coming here since I moved to C'Ville in 2013, and I have never been disappointed and have had great service every time. My mom and I were in the area, looking for a spot to get some lunch and found a lot of closed places or take out only options. We both wanted to sit down and eat so we decided on Riverside North. Riverside North to me, is best described as a sit down Cookout. The food itself is pretty okay, but it's good for what you're paying. You could pay $20 and eat like a king, which I like. It definitely isn't the highest quality food, but it gets the job done. I got a little burger which was pretty decent, but smushed. We also got jalapeño poppers, fries, and fried pickles to share. Everything was about on the same level, hot and tasted alright. I will note that the breading on the fried pickles was good. Also, it was pretty quick, much like Cookout. The restaurant was nearly as full as it could be, and we got our food within 10 minutes of sitting down, which was good because we spent a while driving around looking for a spot to eat. Overall, it was a decent experience at Riverside North, I'd recommend it if you're looking for a Cookout experience in a sit down restaurant. read more

Great home town spot where the locals go! Friendly and fast service along with plenty of different types of seating such as booths, large and small tables in case you're with a big party or just by yourself for lunch like I was. Free wifi and plugs for catching up on work if you need to and Philly cheese steak was good. Country music plays while there's also bar stools to watch the grill master and eat right there. NO LINE COOKS FOLLOW CDC GUIDELINES. NONE OF THEM WORE MASKS and we're eating while on the line and not properly cleaning hands after consuming food! My wife, our baby, and I went for dinner (first time in a restaurant in months) and we had 4 different servers come up to us not properly distanced or wearing their masks properly at all. Excellent execution of basic burgers and bar menu. Burgers are amazingly good and the wait staff have been very good to us over the 12 months we've made this our regular spot. They are always friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make patrons happy. There is a family/restaurant side and a bar side, and the latter is mostly regulars, but don't be intimidated. This place does not care about covid!! I went there today and it's designed so you can see them preparing all the food. Not one of the employees was wearing a mask and half of them weren't even wearing gloves while touching and preparing burgers. I watched one of the people who assembled the burgers eating chicken tenders with this fingers while he was prepared the food and he wasn't wearing a mask or gloves. I was honestly so appalled by this I really do not recommend eating here especially during the pandemic but just in general not wearing gloves while preparing finger food is gross. read more

This is one of my happy places. Their good is so good! Better hamburgers than any fast food place. Heck, their burgers are on par with Five Guys, and I'm being serious, they are THAT good! The prices for their food is really good, lower than the vast majority of places around here. Their burgers are great and you can get them the way you like it. Their fries are great! Not too crispy, and not limp and gooey, they're perfect. Their fried mushrooms are fantastic, especially if you dip them in ranch (and I don't even like ranch dressing). And their servers are always on top of refills, they know before I know I need a refill, which is awesome! Also, you never have a long wait, literally never. I think the longest I've ever waited was maybe 5 minutes at the most. Seriously, don't go to fast food, go to Riverside and have a good meal, that has flavor and gets your belly full. read more

What a mess. Watching the cook count cash and then not wash his bare hands while he makes everyone's burgers is disgusting. This place broke about 15 health violations in the 20 minutes I was there today. To make it worse, every time we needed refills our waitress was missing and the cooks and other waitress were all busy on their cell phones. The burger was average at best. I was there only one time several months ago to see for myself after hearing from my friends about two separate incidents where racist remarks were made from one of their redneck customers to our friend. My friends were asked to leave but the drunk redneck. There was another time I heard about the very same thing happening but I don't know the full story. (My favorite order is a plain burger, light cooked frys and a Dr Pepper, try it sometime) I highly recommend this to anyone who can. Fantastic food. Greasy, but that means it is good!! Inexpensive prices, nice American food selection and quick service. The workers there ranging from the server to the cooks were all awesome. One complaint is that I did find one hair in the fries. I am not freaked out over this at all and did not mention it.
