What a cute spot with no wait (when we arrived around 11am on an October Sunday morning). Our server was open about the longer wait for the food, but she ensured us she would be on top of it when it arrived. The food portions were a good size, and I could only eat about half of my plate (the omelet). Yummy yummy in my tummy. We're on our way to Luray and were hungry so we found this off the freeway. Service was quick and the ladies were so friendly. The diner is a little old looking on the inside, but the bar stools were really cool. Very retro. I got a coffee with multiple refills and blueberry pancakes. When the pancakes came out, they didn't look like they had too many blueberries in them but they were hiding. They were so full of fresh blueberries and they were so good. They had butter and jams on the table and brought out maple syrup. I only used butter. A lot of butter. It was perfect. It came with three pancakes and I ate them all. Idk what hubby got but he ate all his too. I'd definitely come back here if we're in the area again. Maybe on the way home. read more

What happened to this place? Used to be pretty good, now its not at all.. Young kids now running the place who have no business being in the kitchen. NONE.. Scrambled eggs wet n runny, toast old stale/dry, bacon black and home breakfast potatoes that look like they've been sitting out for hours just dried greasy, hard n horrible. So sorry it took me this long! In business since 1957, it has that "we're still here for a reason" ambiance. Self seating in booths with just enough signage to be charming. Serves breakfast all day long - yes please! You can pick your own seat and still the waitress was taking our drink order in just minutes. The menu selections for breakfast left no stone unturned (for usual breakfast fare) and the prices fit the amount of food (American diner selections $$). Service was friendly and the food hot. For $9, we received 2 eggs cooked to our liking, 2 sausage patties, choice of bread (English muffin) and almost a third of plate home fries which were real potatoes rough cut and baked crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. We are definitely returning, not only for the good food and "you're family here" atmosphere, but also because this restaurant is family owned with pride - and it shows! The food here was hot and the main entrees were tasteful. My wife has a chicken salad sandwich was good but the lettuce was aged and wilted and no tomatoes. The fries were hot with good texture. The chicken strips are huge, great flavor and just the right amount of breading, definitely made in-house and worth the extra wait. The side salad was huge with lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, cabbage, and cheese. The service was as expected with todays lack of people wanting to work, so service was a touch slow and sometimes unique in process; however, most were rather young but working, so I definitely applaud them for being willing to work. The place itself is an old fashion dinner with spindle bar stools, booths around the edges and a glass display with deserts. Overall great experience, good food, we will be back. read more

We are from the north and we were in the mood for some southern cooking. This place had a few things on the menu that fit the bill so we checked it out. The place is not much to look at from the outside. Driving by it would not necessarily appeal to us. Inside was very much a diner feel. Only one waitress manning the orders, getting the take out, and cashing people out. Had to wait a bit to be seated and served. She knew and talked to all of the locals like family. She was attentive enough, but also had a somewhat "could care less" attitude. It was an interesting combination but added to the experience. We ordered fried chicken and catfish. We had sides of fries, baked potato and cornbread. All was absolutely delicious. We made sure to get a to go box so we'd have room for dessert. We chose some kind of Irish Cheesecake. It was very good. Most of the desserts were spelled incorrectly on the display case. We were not sure if they just spelled them like they sounded and did that on purpose for a laugh or if they didn't know. Didn't matter to us! They all looked delicious and we would have liked to had more opportunity to come back and try more of them. We definitely will come back here in the future. This restaurant advertises breakfast all day. It is noon, we ordered breakfast. It was terrible! The pancakes were rubbery and almost impossible to cut with a knife. None ate them. I ordered a cheese omelet with potato fries and turkey sausage. The omelet was drenched in oil. I was served big chunks of potatoes with a ton of burnt potato bits. I was also served two turkey patties ate one and could not stomach the second as the texture was rubbery and the taste was off. I really don't know if I ate sausage or something else. I left a note to the kitchen with suggestions of what to improve. I think this is the first time I feel the need to do such thing. The server was cordial and diligent, thank you. The ambiance is the one of an old dinner in need of freshness, but was seemingly clean. Below is a picture of the potatoes and the patty. We just moved to the area last year and found the crescent Inn close to our house. We tried it and have been hooked ever since on their breakfast. The only thing we ever get there are the omelettes and the biscuits and gravy and they are exceptional. The place was built like in the 50s, so it looks dated, but the breakfast is really good. I haven't tried any other food there so I can't say on that but they do have the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. read more

Great little roadside restaurant, located right off I64 in Zion Crossroads. Was a fairly quick and good, fresh cooked lunch while on the road. It's located in what looks to be an old Howard Johnson's, and offers a very similar menu to that old favorite. Highly recommended pit stop, so much superior to a chain fast food stop, and not much more expensive either. Friendly little spot that seems to have a loyal, local clientele. read more

i reached out to the restaurant because I deserve a refund. The food was despicable. The "loaded" baked potato tasted like it was cooked in old butter.The loaded part was just cheese and old bacon. The liver was overcooked and gravy was non existent. I even found a small hair covered in what's supposed to be gravy. The onions were so grilled that they tasted like shoe strings. The mac and cheese on both plates were unseasoned and the noodles were brown. The mash potatoes were brown and sweet . The rest rooms were dirty. Reached out to the store and still haven't heard back from the manager, it's been 4rs. The only nice thing about this place was the cashier. read more

Reviews it's a Mom and Pop place are spot on. The interior decor is from the '60s. And probably hasn't had a good scrub since then. But don't let that deter you from coming. Food was great but what made it somewhere I'd return is the staff. The waitress (only one working) was crazy busy but was still smiling and talkative (not in a bad way). Lots of locals. Which is always a good sign. Even as busy as it was, our food arrived within reason. We ordered Steak and Cheese sub and the Rachel (Turkey Rueben). We both had onion rings. The sandwiches were good, but neither had cheese. Not sure what was going on, but we didn't have time for them to be redone, so we did without. The onion rings were great also. Everything was obviously handmade-- no previously-frozen food here. Got chocolate chip cookies for dessert (were at cash register). I definitely recommend Crescent Inn Restaurant. My friends and I stopped going several years. We had been going there for several years. Their food was not as good and had gone down dramatically, both in restaurant and carryout. We finally went one last time, took a long time to get our order, coundn't get the attention of a server, when we finally got our order it was incomplete. We kept trying to get the fried mushrooms and didn't get them until we went to pay the bill. We told them we had finished and take it off the bill, we wanted them with our meal - not for takeout. Pretty decent spot for any time of day at Zions Crossroads. I had their catfish dinner with Mac and cheese and greens and the catfish was AMAZING, super fresh and was delicious. The Mac and cheese and the greens, however, were just meh, both felt a little under seasoned but cooked well. Overall a solid choice for what you pay for, there's not much at zions other than a lot of fast food so this is a slight step up. I would want to try their breakfast and once I do I'll see if I can update my review. My friends all got burgers off their dinner menu and also felt they were solid choices. Thank you so much Crescent Inn! My mom, daughter, and I came in for dinner and they were extremely busy yet still very attentive. My 3 year old daughter unfortunately proceeded to get sick all over the floor, bench seat, and table (before eating and not food related at all, she has horrible allergies). I just wanted to thank Crescent Inn for how WONDERFUL the whole staff was!!! They were so caring to us and made my daughter feel special. My daughter felt so bad about the mess that she made and they made sure to make her know that she was perfectly fine. They helped us pack up our food that came out (we wanted to leave so we could get my daughter home), helped us clean up, and spoiled my daughter. The staff was so busy but yet to made sure to help us. A nice man who worked there spoiled my daughter and also gave her mints which I really think helped settle her stomach. He got her smiling again. This kind of care you can't usually find in a traditional restaurant. They truly treat you like family and it is so appreciated. We got a chance to finish our food at home and it was amazing as always! BTW my daughter seems to be doing a lot better, thank you! read more

I found this on a web search when other restaurants were closing down. It had good reviews on TripAdvisor, and our options were limited. Stepping inside, this place looks like it hasn't been remodeled in its entire 67-year history. It's American diner style with light wood paneling. The waitress was very nice, however, and very attentive and helpful. When our food arrived, we were overall very impressed. Each dish was authentic and cooked well. We had three different dishes that were breaded and fried, but each had a different breading, and the light oil they were using left no residue. Gravy was good and homemade. Mashed potatoes were made from real potatoes, not instant. Bread was fresh. This is the kind of place where if they can't get the ingredients fresh, they change the menu up a bit, so be flexible. We liked the pork chops, catfish, chicken tenders, and open faced roast beef sandwich. Wish I'd had room for the deserts, which looked great. The grandson had been pushing for Subway. But large enough to give you a good option. At a simple restaurant like this I've learned to order simple for best results. I started with a cup of black coffee that was tasty and not burnt. Lol. For lunch I order 2 "Tati's famous egg rolls". They arrived piping hot and crispy. I was able to tell they were homemade immediately. Thin, crunchy exterior, well seasoned interior. The egg rolls get 2 thumbs up. Entree was 2 of chicken special for $6.69 or something lol. Chicken was breaded perfectly. Not to much not to Little. Great flavor. Again piping hot and crunchy. 2 thumbs up. Sides were also good. Homemade mac-n-CHEESY, lol and baked apples with a roll. Again Two thumbs up. Waiter kept my cup full and checked up on me frequently. I grabbed some seven layer strawberry cake and chocolate chip cookies to go. My total bill was......$21.77. Sounds like a win for me.
