Cole slaw was good....but it was super tangy (vinegary) for my taste. Don't get it wrong, it was good, just hard to eat all of it thanks to the tang. On to the meat. Got a pretty good sized pile of pulled pork and a couple slices of brisket. Both meats were lukewarm at best. Pork was dry (thank goodness for the NC vinegar sauce). The brisket made up for the porks dryness, it was extra greasy and extra fatty. Like, for real, do you think people are going to eat the fat layer between the lean point meat and the fatty upper meat? Yeah, not me. But since the brisket was also lukewarm (more like lukecold) it really didn't make a difference. I did think the Vision BBQ sauce tasted pretty good. If Brianna would have come back by after I got my meal I would have sent it back....and probably would have just left without worrying over a replacement, or a comp, or anything. Secondary issue: went to the mens room. It was just nasty. You get once shot to make an impression, and this one was not good. Would not/will not repeat.

They offer a variety of pre-portioned desserts, cold alcoholic beverages, and meats and sides in larger portions to go We chose to sit outside, but the noise level was a major drawback--constant truck traffic and a very loud motorcycle shop next door made it hard to relax or enjoy the meal. These are things that the exchange cannot control, so if noise is an issue for you, sit inside and you will have a different experience. Overall, decent food, but between the cost and the noise, it wasn't the experience we were hoping for.

Proper hygiene protocols are currently being overlooked behind the bar: the bartender was handling cash and drinks interchangeably without washing hands in between, and glassware washing practices do not appear to be up to standard. Furthermore, fruit garnishes like limes and oranges were being handled with bare hands instead of tongs or proper utensils. Rags for cleaning tables were not clean. ​On top of the bar hygiene issues, the designated smoking area is currently positioned too close to customer spaces, negatively impacting the environment for non-smokers. ​Management needs to step up cleaning protocols and retrain staff on basic health and safety standards immediately. If these issues aren't addressed soon, the local health department will certainly take notice. I hope the owners take this feedback seriously so Wahoo BBQ can live up to its potential.
