Great food and service. The owner's, Rose and Donita are both wonderful ladies. A longtime Scottsville favorite.

We split a Club sandwich. The staff were kind enough to plate it separately with a handsome portion of fries for both of us. The sandwich and fries were excellent. We both had a glass of wine with lunch. The bill was 37 without tip, which I didn't think was bad. We would visit again. Nice job guys !

Once we moved, the server stopped by to take our drinks order which took a bit longer than it should. When it came to ordering, I asked the server to come back to me as I hadn't made up my mind. After everyone else gave her their order, I had to stop her from leaving so I could tell her what I wanted. I told her that I wanted a french dip sandwich. The orders took forever to be served (the place was not busy) and came out one or two at a time. Instead of a french dip the server thought I said french onion soup. I was the last one to get my food. When I tasted the food, I felt like I was eating a salt lick. Very Salty!!! I only ate half of the sandwich and took the rest home. I will probably end up throwing it out. It has been 3 hours since I ate, and I still have a salty taste in my mouth!! Bad service and bad food! I think the only reason this place stays in business is because it is one of 3 restaurants in Scottsville. Time for the owners to step up their game!!

So far we had the super juicy brisket, Fried chicken was amazing, Baked beans are unlike anything I've ever had. So good. And today we had the Philly steak monster 1 pound sandwich. For a Meat lover this sandwich will satisfy your need for meat. It's stuffed. Definitely worth the money. We have lived in Troy for a month and have been here 4 times. The meat is top quality. Not only can order food you can also order beef cuts. This establishment are amazing. Feels like home every time we go in. Thank y'all for all the good vibes. Take my money fill my belly.

After microwaving my burger for a minute it was still not done in the middle. This is a real turn off for me because I cannot stand any pink in my meat especially after I ask you to make sure it's well done. My husband said the smoked chicken was disappointing because the meat had zero seasoning on the meat. The skin was seasoned well but the inside wasn't. He reported the mashed potatoes and corn were just ok but the green beans were very disappointing.

The waitress was very friendly and very accommodating with recommendations for dietary restrictions. The fried chicken is an absolute must.. perfectly fried and crispy and good balance of flavors. We tried a few other things that was pretty average like the open faced turkey sandwich and the salmon and mash potatoes. I would also recommend getting the gravy on the side and eating everything with it... not exactly sure what is in it but keep doing your thing Southern Kitchen. We were seated quickly and we noticed our waitress was Slow on getting to the tables for drinks and after about 10 minutes she came by and got our drinks. Upon her getting close and speaking it was very apparent she was very intoxicated and I remarked that it was sad about her condition. As we waited for our food we watched her interactions with other tables and she had problems remembering what table was which. She delivered food to the wrong tables and dropped other food on the floor trying to deliver it. Her fellow waitresses were actually calling her out in the middle of the dining room telling her to get her act together. When she delivered the food the hamburger steak platter was literally a dry hamburger patty that was old and had a thimble of gravy. the mashed potatoes were instant and had been poorly mixed because the powder was still dry in the middle. The glazed carrots were old soggy and brown ( see the picture) . We never got a bill because she just disappeared completely. We went to pay and the cashier was able to look up the order and we spoke to her about the waitress needing some help and her condition and all she would say is " we will try"

The firecracker shrimp was really generous and delicious, I was really impressed. No tiny skimping shrimp here. We came for brunch on a weekend so I got the Croque Madame and it sounds like kinda a novel entree but WOWWW it's so tasty and filling, but not heavy. Loved that I could sub the side for fruit too, that was very fresh. We got a bread appetizer too which was really elegantly presented. Several of the kids' meals came out with incorrect sides, which should have been a simple detail to get right. The calamari was very greasy, and two of us ordered steaks with the bone marrow butter. We could not taste any bone marrow flavor whatsoever, and both steaks were overcooked. My daughter-in-law ordered the lobster roll at market price, which ended up being around $38. For the price, the portion was very small and the flavor was underwhelming. Overall, the food and service did not meet expectations, especially for what we paid. Sadly, this was not the enjoyable birthday dinner we had hoped for.

The space itself gives you a family bar feeling. Looks like it would be a great locals spot. They had enough tables for any size groups and it was very clean. For appetizers we had the fried pickles and pork rinds. I'd give the fried pickles a 2/5, they had flavor but lacked crunch. The breading was missing on 80% of the pickle. The pork rinds, FRIEND, those were probably the highlight of my meal. The sizzle and pop, the crunch, flavor...I'm drooling just thinking about them again. I don't think I can ever have them from a bag again. 5/5 Main Coarse we ordered the mac-n-skilled with pulled pork, the kids chicken taco with tots, brisket stuff shells, and brisket Philly cheesesteak with a side of hush puppies. Mac-n-skillet, the meat was a tad bit dry but had a good amount of cheese. Creamy. Only downside was the pork. 3.5/5. The Brisket Philly was cheesy, meat was good, great flavor just a bit too greasy. Hush puppies were good, nothing stood out in particular. 4/5. The kids chicken taco and tots were ok. Not enough cheese and the tortilla was hard, tots were just right. 3.5/5. The brisket stuffed shells were unique, loved the flavor just a bit too much cheese to meat ratio for me personally. The brisket was cooked perfectly. Would order again. 5/5 We were in and out in less than an hour. We were never rushed and the atmosphere was warm. The prices are reasonable as well.
