Cuppa Joe's is a lovely, small town, local coffee shop. The gal behind the counter was incredibly kind and helpful! I told her it was our first time visiting and asked if they had any specialty drinks, and that I liked espresso and not so sweet drinks. She recommended a brown sugar, toasted marshmallow shaken oat milk latte, but not too sweet. I immediately said "yes ma'am". The drink was absolutely delicious from the first sip of foam to the last sip! The blueberry pie bar was also to die for! Sweet & crumbly, perfectly paired with the dirty chai latte my boyfriend got! He loved it too. read more

Best hometown coffee spot ever. And I'm a fan of the local caffeinated hole in my own neck of the woods. But here - here where the local sheriff comes in on the regular and talks smack with you the first time ever meeting you ... feels like family. Kaylee is the best barista. Period. The decor is cozy and fun! Will definitely update with pics next time I'm around. read more

So much better than Dunkin. I always get good service at Cuppa Joes and they have soy milk for us vegans. Plenty of seating inside. Cute little vibe. read more

Love the service! The coffee was great, but it's the service from Hannah that really stood out! She's the blue-haired girl you'll probably notice during your visit. She's personable, funny, and incredibly relatable. She has recommendations for what to get or add onto your order and makes you feel welcome. I additionally loved the decor with the ducks and little chairs. Not a bad spot to meet up with friends or get a "cuppa joe" with a smile tacked on with the order! read more

Cuppa Joe Cafe - Dark coffee with espresso - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Palmyra, Virginia

I'm all for the down home, no frills cafe/ice cream parlor. That's what Cuppa Joe Cafe is. We went in on a Friday evening specifically for ice cream and there were two other patrons inside, one woman enjoying ice cream and a man with coffee doing work on his laptop. A quiet and calm atmosphere, everything looked clean, there was some beautiful local art exhibited on the walls, and the young employee greeted us warmly when we stepped up to the ice cream freezer. They sell Blue Bunny, so the flavors are nothing super exotic, but you can count on consistent quality. I got the Orange Cream, which was a delicious flashback to eating creamsicles in the summertime when I was a kid. Our toddler got a half scoop of chocolate, luscious. And my husband got a scoop of cookies and cream which was loaded with cookie and super tasty. The menu for the coffee drinks and breakfast/lunch bites looked really tempting and at good prices, so I think we'll definitely stop by sometime for a coffee and a pastry or something on a weekend. But it's definitely confirmed as a convenient choice for a classic ice cream. Enjoy, folks! read more

The layout of all the options was a little confusing but the ice cream was really good. The employees were nice. They have a lot of seating and it was really clean. read more

Went a little out of the way in search for coffee and breakfast. Coffee was a hit, they had pumpkin spice in July!!! My kind of place. Tea and hot chocolate for the little ones made a happy pit stop. The breakfast sandwiches were premade and just nuked in the microwave so we passed in that and went two doors down for breakfast. Super friendly. read more

Love this place. Hannah and Nate rock! Great coffee. Super place to sit and enjoy meeting others.

My favorite is the Snickerdoodle!Great place to stop and get a coffee and enjoy a muffin! Sit and stay a while, friendly and prompt service.

Hannah and the other employees are awesome; just make sure you have cash because the charge more for credit/debit cards.

Friendly, community oriented, locally owned, and friendly staff makes this an amazing local find.

What made Cuppa Joe absolutely perfect? The perfect cuppa joe served with a smile. This is an unpretentious, small town coffee shop offering counter service. Not sleek and shiny, definitely not upscale. Local art is for sale on the walls. But what they do they do exceptionally well. They use Shenandoah Joe beans - a small batch roaster dedicated to the craft of roasting coffee. So you know this is good coffee. They had some tasty muffins, a few breakfast sandwiches and other bakery goods - even ice cream. Hannah was working the morning we stopped in and her vivacious personality made two out-of-towners feel right at home. She is the type of employee every customer service oriented business needs - if only the world were filled with pleasant and interesting people like Hannah! read more

I would give this location a 3 stars cause they have decent stuff. But there is this old lady who doesn't wash her hands. The younger lady there was nice but the old lady is mean read more

Mislabeled as place for brunch/sit down food. This is a coffee shop, with the ability to microwave side food (sandwiches, burritos, etc.)...food is overpriced and basically fast food. Disappointed. PRO - the coffee is great. Just don't go for the food and I only made a bad review because of the false label. read more

Friendly, happy neighborhood coffee house with bonus baked goods, ice cream, and good friends. Cap'n Cliff is your host and ringmaster... Tropical island decor reinforces the "no problem"atmosphere. Great fun! read more

Good ice cream for a reasonable price. Like that there is a lounge area for hanging out.

Hadn't dropped in on this place near Lake Monticello for some odd reason (usually make coffee at home in the mornings.) When I run out, I usually go out to the convenience store outside the main gate, but looked up Cuppa Joe on Yelp and found out that they sold whole bean coffee (duh). I was pleasantly surprised by the decor, original art and the friendliness of the barista. Loved the French Roast beans I took home to grind. If you're a coffee shop person, either at the lake, or visiting friends there, check it out. You won't be disappointed. read more

A wonderful surprise for a coffee snob from metro Boston visiting relatives! Friendly and extremely competent service. Went in this evening for an ice cone. Was not greeted by the guy behind the counter, except for a cold blank stare. He did not offer to help until we asked for the ice cream. One small scoop was $4. No "thank you" or "have a nice day". He handed me the receipt and turned his back as we walked out. Extremely rude and the product was not worth the price. Stay away from this place. read more

I used to think this was the spot to go when owned by the first owner. I am no longer pleased with this place and have given at least 5 chances in the last four to six months. Seems every single time I walk in there it is nothing but bad attitudes of being bothered and not wanting to be there by the employees. The old owner used to frequently be in the store and make everyone feel welcomed. Not the case anymore. Everyone looks miserable. Very disappointing since it's so close to my home. Guess I will have to drive farther to treat my little ones to ice cream. :( read more
