I try to spread the wealth amongst all the coffee shops. But the Yellow Mug has hands down the best coffee I've had in and around Charlottesville. Its consistent and good every time! They offer a variety of pastry's, cookies, and quiches and the staff is super friendly. The interior of the building offers exposed beams and is cute and cozy, the exterior is just as welcoming with a nice porch and lots of outdoor seating complimented by mature shrubbery and trees. A total gem, don't pass it up. Dog friendly (outside) as well!

Very reasonable prices and wide selection. Free refills- keep them alive! Also like that they have paper loyalty card not phone based.

Love the quiche here too. Great place. My original had a typo. Prices are very reasonable. Unlike some places locally, the refill on coffee is free. Nice calm ambiance and outdoor seating front and back too. A great place to spend some time.

Wonderful folks, and the day-old discount bakery tray always has great stuff. Parking can get tight at times.

My favorite coffee shop! Very wholesome, very quiet-perfect coffee shop for Crozet. Just 2.25 for a small cup and they give free refills!

My friend and I stopped by this past Saturday morning to grab coffee for ourselves and our other friends. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but dang, Mudhouse is expensive. It shocked me to see DC pricing, if not more pricy. I was feeling a pour-over this morning, so I asked the baristas what they recommended since I was looking for their wildest offering. If I remembered correctly, they suggested one of their current single origins, Costa Rica - Finca Las Torres Honey Process (tasting notes: candied plum, red apple, honeycomb). The pour-over was $8, which is crazy. I should have just bought a bag of beans (which is 3x more expensive), and I would have been able to make 20 cups for myself. The pour-over was good though, bright and fruity, and I enjoyed drinking it even without a pastry. I picked up a different pour-over (also a single origin and was $8) and matcha ($7.75 for a small) for a couple friends. They both enjoyed their drinks (the matcha was very green and tasted legitimate) but thought it was more expensive than it should be. Overall, still a solid coffee roaster in the area with a homey and spacious interior -- just a bit too expensive for coffee and tea.

They had a nice selection of both iced and hot coffee, espresso drinks, teas, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries. I got a pumpkin spice latte and it was delicious. Would recommend if you are in the area!

We had such a wonderful experience at Broad Porch Coffee!…read more The salmon and dill toast was absolutely incredible--the presentation alone was beautiful, and it tasted even better. Everything was so fresh and perfectly balanced. It was so good that we ended up ordering two more to go just so our older teens could try it too! We also had the kale and roasted grape salad, and it was exactly what my palate needed--light, refreshing, and full of flavor. You can really tell they put thought into every ingredient. Overall, such a great spot with amazing food and attention to detail. We'll definitely be back!

Seeing how much looked good and we were tourists, we over-ordered and got to try a little of everything. From the summer menu, we got Biscuit and Gravy, Paradise Parfait, and the Bread Pudding. I enjoyed my biscuit and gravy - pretty solid. Child #1 devoured his parfait (I tried it and I think it may have been my favorite item - they also have a vegan chia seed option - a woman was enjoying hers next to us when we waited in line), and my wife loved the bread pudding, which has a nice maple glaze to it. We also grabbed several of their pastries, including some scones, a muffin, and a buckwheat cake slice. All were great, though the buckwheat pastry was a tad dry. They have a lot of standard offerings of a coffee shop - teas, coffees, lattes, etc. I got a matcha latte and found it to be earthy and not too sweet. The inside is a bit narrow, especially when you consider a long line. The staff are efficient but don't lose their warm hospitality. Broad Porch has an Air BNB "Loft in Luray" located upstairs. I imagine it would be wonderful waking up to the smell of coffee and pastries. I would say if you're visiting Luray, Broad Porch is a MUST VISIT. There's something for everyone. Highly recommended.

Introduction:…read more Continuing the alphabet series, I had 2 for the letter. One out of town of the DC-Baltimore area, and one local in central Maryland. My g/f & I were out of town in Massanutten, VA from April 24-26, 2024. I had been to Massanutten once before in March 2023. Both times my friend had a timeshare. March 2023 didn't make it to Moxie 33, but did go to Thunderbird Cafe in this same center, which was pretty good. 2023 trip was a group trip. On Thursday, 4/18/24, my friend reached out to me to try to get me & my girlfriend to buy any number of nights during the work week of 4/22, and it would probably be a private trip for just the 2 of us at that point. I ran by my g/f, which she was agreeable. On Friday, my manager was a bit annoyed by me requesting Thursday & Friday, 4/25-26 off work, but I had to do what I had to do to enjoy a nice private trip with my g/f to Massanutten. Experience with Moxie 33 on Thursday, April 25 & then one more time the next day: We walked in this beautiful, clean, large coffee shop with good lighting. The staff was very friendly and efficient with making the drinks. I think I got some latte drink. Wow, it was delicious, one of the best I've had! We sat in there to drink our drinks one or both of the times. It's a comfortable place for conversation or people to WiFi to do work or whatever, which we saw too. We loved so much, we went again the next day.
