Great place, a favorite among the visitors and locals a like. This is a such a cute place, but parking is limited, tread lightly. You won't get the 21 flavors as some of the chain ice-cream shops, but you will get about 13 unique flavors. My husband and I each got 1 scoop on a waffle cone. This was the most generous single scoop I've ever seen. I had blueberry cheesecake ice-cream and it was delicious. The ice cream here is absolutely top notch. I'm not even a big ice cream fan but I can appreciate a business that does it right. Perfect location right along 151 makes for an easy but stop while you're on the trail. The donuts were meh but I didn't have high expectations to begin with. As a Wisconsinite (the dairy state) I love my ice cream. Unfortunately this was mediocre and Extremely expensive $$$$$. Several flavors were empty so I got a one scoop dish of birthday cake (vanilla with colored sprinkles - no cake to be found anywhere in this ice cream). The ice cream was fine. It didn't wow me for the price I was charged. The shocker was I paid $4.50 for a scoop of ice cream in a paper bowl - not even a waffle cone or bowl for that insane price. I miss the old "Boy Blue" types of places where you drive up and get a cone or sunday for a reasonable price and there is a little line of people milling about and everyone is eating their favorite flavor. Here You are paying for a large building and the one acre of land and an ambivalent man to serve you ice cream that isn't nearly as good as Haagen Daas (or Jennies) and was Far more expensive per serving. This was on a Saturday, early afternoon where this place should be packed. There was another couple with their 3 kids who split one bowl of ice cream. I admire anyone who has a small business and a great product - however you need to look at your business model from the consumer standpoint. Came out here on our trip to Devils Backbone and yeah.. it's still super delicious. It's soooo noticeable from the street. The colorful building and big sign just screams: "Must visit!" We saw this creamery while doing some brewery hopping near Wintergreen. There were lots of flavors and a sherbet for a non-dairy option. You MUST stop here if you aren't lactose intolerant, and even if you are, they have sorbets for you! We came twice while we were here for three days- we couldn't resist! They have seating inside & outside. The service is quick- even if the line is out the door- it's not bad. Drove by this place and had to turn around! Looks like a house with a big deck. Doesn't matter which direction you are traveling, it's after the distillery! From the south it after Bold Rock distillery on the opposite side. From the North it just after Three Notch'd brewing/distillery. The freezer case reminds you of Cold Stone, where the flavors are in metal pans. 10 flavors of ice cream and 2 flavors of sorbet. My wife had the Bear Tracks ice cream with peanut butter sauce as a sundae. I had the mango sorbet. Both were good. This was a nice stop on a hot afternoon. Staff was very friendly! read more

Cute place, friendly service and love that they are open when many places are not. They were open on the 4th of July and it was very appreciated by many. The cream is really good. Why the 3 stars? -1 star There's just very little options. There's a handful of pretty typical ice cream flavors you can get in a cup or cone. That's about it. It's hard for a group that has different tastes or perhaps dietary restrictions or preferences. For example no sugar added fruit smoothies, gelato, frozen yogurt, soft serve, ice cream sandwiches, floats, etc. It just feels very limited. I think it would be standing room only if they expanded the menu options. -1 star The servers don't wear hand coverings (disposable gloves) when digging down into the ice cream containers and I didn't see them wash their hands during our visit. This is one of the best ice cream places I have been to. I went with my family and because it was Fourth of July, they had a special flavor called Star Spangled Vanilla.
