Recently I was on the hunt for birthday balloons. Specific birthday balloons, snoopy colors, should be simple. To my surprise it was NOT! After going to and/or calling 8 Dollar Tree locations with NO luck, I knew I was in trouble. Then because of freeway congestion I happened upon the Dollar Tree on Southern Ave at Val Vista Drive in Mesa, AZ. There I found THE balloons I needed for my granddaughter's birthday! When I delightedly told the manager how happy her store had made me, how awesomely friendly the employees were, how "the" birthday was now going to be complete, she said because of road construction we aren't getting the foot traffic we normally do. It can't be only road construction! I believe their stock of balloons has everything to do good management, pleasant employees and a good attitude all around. Came here to pick up some metal trash bins to repurpose as a net for some potted plants, mainly to keep birds away from my basil (thank you tiktok for the craft hack) walked through the store and it was quite a mess, but I guess that's expected with them running on a skeleton crew, from what it looks like. There are lots of items to look through, mostly food, but it's all very messy and understocked. read more

Stewart started by greeting us when we arrived. Then he went over and above to try and find a product I happened to see on dollartree.com He looked on several aisles and a few of the boxes on the floor. I sure appreciated the time he took to see if they had my item. It wasn't in the store, but he gave me great advice to have it ordered and sent to the store and wished me a good day at the end of my visit. This was a terrific stop. I will be back. DT in shopping center NW corner of Southern Ave & Val Vista. This location was well stocked with inventory. I bought several bags of peanuts, hard candies, pretzels and socks all for only $1.25ea.= $11. Great value and I am impressed with the socks quality for such a low price. Service lady was friendly, professional and rang me up fast unlike many of these type of stores that make you wait awhile in line to check out. read more

First time ever at this location. Clean, well organized, so many Holiday items. If you are a crafter, this is truly the store for you. To buy crafting supplies for your children this is the place! So many choices all are at an incredible price. This store is loaded with Halloween candy and the Halloween decorations are going fast but ,they still have some good ones . So many other stores are so picked over for Halloween decorations. Maybe just because they didn't get too much. Lots of parking in the large parking lot. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I am a Asian American and I looked mixed. I walked Into the store with my sister and automatically the dollar store employees were following us around the store. Another one walked up to us saying "don't be stealing" I asked what makes her think I'm stealing and she said "we have cameras watching you" EVERY isle I walked into an employee followed behind. I was even having a conversation with my sister and a employee had the nerve to say " excuse me?!?" Like women mind your own business! I'm not talking to you! At the cashier we could clearly see the cashier call another employee look at us, then walk away saying "I'll go check" and as we were checking out the cashier kept looking around for the other employee. I not coming back to this racist dollar tree! Would not recommend this place it's also unorganized and dirty! read more

The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and kind. The store had some of the best gifts for kids and loved ones. They were polite, understanding and verbatim was more personalized and fun... which was a nice surprise rather than quick service without conversation and smiles. Even the day prior to Xmas, they had a tremendous amount of great gifts at a wonderful price. My daughter likes a specific candy . Amanda your sales associate was restocking in another aisle , I asked her if she can check for the candy . Without any hesitation she took the time and went to the back and found what I was needing. I know with the store being very busy she could of said that you were out . Tonight I went to Dollar Tree for 2 specific items. I looked everywhere. I ended up finding a lot more other stuff lol but not what I needed. So I was ready to check out and my new favorite DT employee DJ asked me if I found everything I was looking for and I said "Actually I was looking for trays..." and she said "The little metal ones, follow me" She took me where I looked already and I told her I thought they'd be there. She said "Well they don't go here but I've seen them here so that's where I wanted to started" Then we checked the 2nd place she thought they'd and BAM. There they were! I didn't even think of looking in that isle. Then I said "Well I was also was looking for some popcorn buckets. They have red stripes..." She said "Come on I'll show you". Long story short she was the most helpful person I've ever encountered at that store. I mean everyone is nice but DJ really stood out to me today. She really went out of her way to help.
