i contacted their store yesterday to ask if they carried a specific brand as i wanted to make my way to the store but wanted to ask before driving out of my way to old town. i was told they had the brand in stock in store and was told they were open. when i arrived to zoolikins about 25 minutes later the store was closed and there was no answer to my calls. the automated message did not indicate they were closed nor was there a sign on the door indicating they were closed outside of business hours. it is extremely frustrating to have been told they were open only to arrive shortly after for them to be closed and unresponsive. read more

Just happened upon this store yesterday and I'm so glad I did! I was looking for some new toys for my almost 2 year old daughter, and this store had sooo many things I hadn't seen before. There was a wonderful selection of fun & educational toys, it was such a great change up from the toy section at Target!! They also have the cutest clothes, tons of books and plushies. We were lucky enough to get to meet the owner and her two kids. The owners young daughter even showed my toddler around the store and helped entertain her and pick out some toys! I just left the store with my 2 children and I wanted to leave a review mainly because the girl working was so nice and helpful. I used to shop here when my kids were babies and this is the first time I've been back and was pleasantly surprised. I have a son with developmental delays and the girl was so nice to him and showed us all the toys that help with occupational therapy. Zoolikins seems to be known as the cloth diaper resource locally, but I have to admit... I don't use cloth diapers. (Please don't hate me!) Sorry environment, but I love Pampers and Huggies. Nonetheless, I learned about Zoolikins when baby #2 was born 6 months ago. We received an adorable gift from Zoolikins. I made a mental note to visit myself and did so recently... I cannot believe I hadn't been in sooner as it's so close to my house! I was with my kids and mother-in-law when I visited and we went in on a mission to look at amber teething necklaces. Not only do they have a decent selection of real amber necklaces to choose from (I guess there are some fakes being sold elsewhere according to the woman that was working), but they have a ton of other unique items for kids as well. While we ended up not purchasing a necklace (my son didn't like them), we did buy some utensils for him, a bib for my daughter, and a cute Dr Seuss plate / bowl set as well. If you are in need of products for your baby or toddler or on the hunt for a cute gift for someone else's kid(s), Zoolikins is worth a visit indeed! read more

Zoolikins is amazing! I had taken a cloth diapering class down in Tucson, where I live, and the woman teaching it mentioned she initially went to this store. We were taking a trip up to Phoenix for another reason and decided to check it out. Boy am I glad that I did! We were able to talk to not only one but two staff members about the variety of cloth diapers. Despite having just taken a class covering all this I had NO idea how many brands/styles there were to this whole modern cloth diapering. But the sales associates were very down to earth explaining that it's like different jeans and it's really not as hard as it seems. Gone are the days of diaper pins and in are snappis (ask them about it - you will love it). We ended up purchasing an infant starter pack that had water proof covers (3) and then pre-folds to use inside. Oh word to the wise their website also rocks and you can skype into classes on cloth diapering, baby wearing, and swaddling! Again so thankful to these people and their amazing store. read more

If you are looking for cloth diapering, baby carrying or other granola child rearing necessities--this is the place. You can touch and feel a variety of diapers, take a class to learn how to use, pick up diaper safe laundry detergent, or just browse the variety of natural products available. The prices are pretty comparable to anything else you will find online, with the bonus of skipping shipping/delivery wait time. I love being able to preview my options and walk out the door same day with new "fluff". Staff are friendly and knowledgeable without being to "hover-y" while you shop. Definitely put this store on your rotation if you are expecting or looking for a unique baby gift. read more

I highly recommend Zoolikins if you are interested in cloth diapering and just need to see what it's all about. I did a lot of research online when deciding to CD, but sometimes you just gotta see this stuff IRL. I brought the husband here so he could see that it wasn't scary. The girls here are all really knowledgeable on CDing, so they are a great resource. I do feel like the advice they give on CD care is pretty typical (ie how to wash diapers), and you will definitely get different advice from me... and most other moms who CD. If you don't CD, Zoolikins is also a great resource as an intro to babywearing - I bought my Sakura Bloom ring sling here. They also have tons of cute toys and other baby gadgets/toys. Zoolikins also carries some Earth Mama Angel Baby products. The only thing that I didn't like about Zoolikins is how they talked up their CD registry to me... and after I set one up (you have to do this in person, and then they add it online), I never actually got the email confirming my registry. The first time I happened upon Zoolikins, I was expecting my first baby and was enticed by a baby store. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised to find the products are all geared toward natural parenting! And upon further inspection, they have a whole wall of cloth diapers! This store is sadly (or luckily?) too far for me to go as often as I like, but when I'm in the area, I love to stop in to check out different brands and products in person. I'll shop online all day, but there's nothing like being able to hold and inspect the widget and ask a knowledgeable employee about the little nuances. Plus, I always discover something I've never heard of. I drove all the way from Surprise after reading a review on helpful this place is in choosing the right baby sling. I hated the last one I bought and with a new baby coming I wanted advice on what would work for my back problems. The woman there was so helpful and knowledgeable. She helped me try on different wraps to see what I was comfortable in. I ended up buying a brand I had not been looking at previously and had never heard. Trying different ones on with the life size, 7lb doll the store has really helped me make my decision. I also liked the green toys and other baby items they sell. I've been to Zoolikins a number of times to buy small things here and there for my nephew or for our upcoming addition to the family and have always enjoyed browsing around the store looking at all the fun products. Even if you aren't looking for something in particular, you can always find something! My husband and I finally made it in for the cloth diapering class last night and were impressed by not only the great number of options that were presented (we talked about prefolds, all in ones, pockets, one size, sized diapers - you name it!) but how helpful the owner was with helping us decide what was right for our needs and budget. I'll repeat - they really seem to want to find out what will work best for you, rather than just trying to sell one particular thing over another. We wound up leaving with a stash of diapers that I think will be perfectly tailored that our needs. I will say that we actually had been into Zoolikins to look at diapers another time and had a pretty lengthy discussion with another staff member about the types and choices for cloth diapers and they were super helpful as well - so if you aren't able to make a class, you can get a "mini class" just by going into the store and asking for help. They also are really responsive via the Contact Us form on their webpage if you have any questions. I also want to mention just how fair the prices are in the store. Of course, it isn't Walmart pricing since you are getting well made, high quality items but the prices are all very close if not exactly the same as what you would find for the same items online or at other retailers. I always love shopping local but sometimes it is difficult to justify if there is a huge difference in price. That isn't the case with Zoolikins. Every item I've price compared with other stores or websites, even Amazon, have been the same. Plus you don't have to pay shipping and have the added bonus of getting to take it home right away (and of course get helpful advice too.) Glad that we live just a few blocks away so it won't be long before we are back! read more

Went into zoolikins for the first time today, and walked out extremely happy. Yesterday I searched for cloth diapers at 3 targets and babies r us. Walked away disappointed. I went home to search the Internet and figured I would order online. Who knew there were so many options. I needed face to face customer service and with just as many options as shopping online and boy did I find what I was looking for. There is a whole wall with cloth diapers, a nook with different wraps, slings and carriers, adorable clothes and helpful items for new moms. Like a another person mentioned in their yelp, the women at this store work with their clients to make sure you don't feel rushed or stupid. The young lady who helped me ( and I'm assuming everyone who works at zoolikins,) is extremely knowledged about cloth diapers, and demonstrated a ring sling for me then encouraged me to try it with a baby doll filled with beans, so it felt very life like! Where do I start?! This place is amazing! We recently purchased our cloth diapers from them after numerous visits to the stores. Every time I was filled with questions and they had the answers to EVERY one of those questions. Finally when I got over the nervousness of cloth diapering I attended their FREE cloth diaper class and I was sold. Fantastic customer service! As a first time mom-to-be, I'm completely overwhelmed with all the decisions on quality natural products. They helped my husband and I with selecting a baby carrier and bottles. Both women were so patient with all of our questions and rolled with my husband's sense of humor. We're looking forward to taking a diapering class soon. I'm hoping to register for as many baby items as we can here. Update on May 13, 2017: This morning we took the Diapering 101 class, which is free. The owner broke it all down for us and answered every single question comprehensively. There were 4 couples which made the vibe comfortable to asking as many questions as needed. There were great conversations during and afterwards. We learned about everything from which type of diapers would work for our lifestyle and budget to how to launder them. My husband and I bought all of our diapers right after the class. We got instructions on prepping them before we use them. We joined the reward program and can't wait to head back for more baby stuff. Most of our registry links back to the store. We love supporting this local business. They test all of the products that they sell and stand behind them. There pricing is about the same as the big box stores but with the one-on-one customer service from people who know the product that they're selling. read more

Excellent service. I came in about six weeks ago looking for a sling. I was dealing with a colicky baby and had read that wearing babies in a sling helps with digestion and further bonding. I was immediately helped by the owner and she demonstrated with a pretend baby while I used my real one. Stopped in today in search of the perfect baby carrier for my eleven month old son and I. First, I have two older children who were offered juice or water. Being as though it is a billion degrees outside it was really sweet of them to hydrate my kids. :) They were then happy to sit and play in the little play area that was setup in the store. Second, they had a large variety of baby carriers to choose from. I chose to look at Zoolikins because of the trusted brands and carrier types that they carry as they can not be found in the typical big baby stores. The employee their was so incredibly helpful. At one point the owner stopped by with a limited print lillebaby carrier that actually matched my diaper bag (from pink lining). I was sold. They both went above and beyond to help me find just what I was looking for (and without any hint of pushiness). In the end, I left with two carriers that I love and a crazy excellent customer service experience. I cannot wait to visit the store again. One final note, after I left the store I was sure that the items I had just purchased could be found online for less. I was wrong. Same price or less. I highly recommend this store! read more

Ok, so we're on the final countdown til our little one arrives and I have known for quite some time that I'd be cloth diapering my child. Thankfully, I have a partner in crime who, while isn't crunchy like me, is totally willing to go with the flow of my hippie ways. Per the recommendation from my midwife, we signed up for a free cloth diapering class here. The owner is freaking AMAZING!! She really knows her stuff, and is very passionate about keeping our babies safe and free from the garbage they put in disposable diapers and wipes. She holds the class in the back of the store, and goes through everything. From diapers for those who have a tighter budget all the way up through to the diapers that are "limited edition" and then some. I felt like I was just being given all of my options and, at no point, did I feel like she was just out for a sale. She gives out papers at the end showing you different "packages" that one could potentially put together, depending on budget and diapering desire. We all got to try out different types on the teddy bear she was using, but while papa bear was totally able to get it down pat, mama bear here didn't feel too confident. She said that once the baby is here, we are free to bring him or her in and try on different diapers with her assistance so we could get a better feel for them. In addition to the slew of diapers, they also have detergents, reusable wipes, flushable diaper liners, baby slings, wet bags, diaper rash balm, breast feeding items, teething gear, clothes, toys, and much more. Unfortunately, I was not wowed. We went in to browse and see some cloth diapers in person. The store did have an impressive assortment and for that the store gets two stars. Also, the owner walked up and began giving us an impromptu diapering class. Which is also nice and would have given this store a least another star, except that she dissed prefolds. I get that the All in One diapers and pockets, etc. are quick and convenient, but they are also pricey (and take forever to dry). I wanted to use prefolds and covers at first, but she told us that prefolds were hard to come by these days. Really? I can go online and find them in a jiffy (unbleached, organic, bamboo you name it). Maybe it's just a stuffy Scottsdale thing, but I wasn't really into it. We are looking to cloth diaper our first child. After extensive research online and disappointing results when in person ( for instance when I went to buy buy baby) I found this place! They have all the diapers and you can actually look at and and feel the material!!! Not only is the selection fantastic but the sales team is very knowledgeable. I am a tough customer: I was looking for a GrowVia type cover/feel (since they use TPU vs PUL)- However I was interested in mainly doing flats/pre-folds underneath (the mesh in the GroVia hybrid option defies the point). There is only one brand that makes the appropriate diaper shell that I was looking for and I would've never known about it if it wasn't for the helpful and knowledgeable staff!!!! I cannot say how thankful I am that they help me find this. I will be placing an order for my entire diapering stash to the store. Another great thing is that not only do their prices match online prices but you get a diaper discount of 10% off for 6 diapers AND points! You can't beat that!!!! I only have experience shopping with Zoolikins online, so maybe the in-store experience is better. I chose to shop with them because their prices were reasonable and I liked the idea of supporting a local store (there isn't a local cloth diapering store near me). My first order was fine. I ordered a prefold "package," and it came, not quickly, but came. When it came, I was two diapers short. I simply called and they sent the two additional diapers without much extra effort on my part (again, they came slowly, but I wasn't in a rush). I was reasonably impressed with their business and decided to shop with them again when it was time to buy the next sized diapers. This was when things went downhill. I wanted to buy another prefold package (and, consequently, spend roughly $150), but was hoping to customize my order a bit (I just wanted to swap out a diaper cover - same brand, I was just hoping for a different color), so I called the store to see if it was possible. The girl that answered acted as if I had just seriously inconvenienced her by even calling - the tone of her voice made it very clear that I could not customize the order (she'd have to ring the covers up separately - OH the HUMANITY!). Not a big deal, in my mind. They are running a business after all. So, then I ask if I can use a VISA gift card (not possible on the website, so I thought maybe over the phone it would be possible). Again - she gives a HUGE sigh. Gift cards are a big hassle, she explains. She *might* be able to do it, but she'd have to ask her manager, and the manager is not available. That was the last straw. If my business is such a serious inconvenience to you, I can definitely find other places to shop. I ended up buying the diapers on nickisdiapers.com. It was a night-and-day experience. The diapers I needed were not in stock, but their customer service contacted me as soon as they were back in stock. I made a mistake with my order, but when I called they quickly and simply made the change - and were even courteous about it! And, they had free next-day shipping. Never mind, Zoolikins. You've totally been outdone. read more
