I previewed items the day before but the items I saw were gone. The store is small enough to not seem suffocated. There are a lot of cut odds and ends. However, the cashiers always want to make small talk with customers and it takes forever to check out one customer with one item. The conversation is usually about personal matters. After waiting in line for over 20 minutes, I ended up leaving and not purchasing a single item in my basket. One item had no price so they had to send someone on a goose chase to get pricing. Don't have all afternoon to wait. Also - every single visit - you get this run down - Do you have our credit card, would you like to apply for our credit card, you can save money today. This particular Gate Gas Station is located just off of 95 on Bowden Road. It has definitely seen…read morebetter days, the service is friendly and the prices are competitive prices. The big advantage to this gas station is that it is just off of 95. This makes for a very convenient easy on and easy off gas stop, pretty much a gas up and hit the road again. There are also several restaurants not far from this particular location, so if you want to tie this gas stop into a meal stop, as well. Again, this location has definitely seen better days and would probably benefit from a facelift. There are a lot of gas stations in this area and this one would be easy to overlook. So while I would recommend it, I would also recommend to upper management to take some time and give this place the attention it deserves and make it look like it's a viable gas station. If not, I'm afraid that it could fall to the wayside, forgotten and looking neglected. So the next time you are driving down 95 I need gas and happened to be by the Bowden Avenue exit in Jacksonville, Florida, take the exit and give this place to try.
