Spatched chicken from Freshfield. Chargrilled to perfection.

I love Freshfield Farm! Terrific prices on meats and vegetables. Fresh. Fresh. Fresh! We go every couple of weeks. Store is always clean. Staff is always friendly. It's always crowded and a little difficult to "buggy" around sometimes but that doesn't keep me from going. Always interesting exotic fruits to look at.

Interesting place. You never 100% sure what you're gonna find here. They have so many different kinds of cuts of meat and some seafood. A lot of things are sold in bulk. They sell femur bones for your dog, they sell bulk sliced Parmesan cheese, which is awesome. A decent selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, everything is in bulk, it's so simple in here there is no fluff. Bring your own bags. The line moves quickly.

This cuts out all the fluff out of grocery stores - no processed food here! When you walk in, you'll find fruits, veggies, nuts, meats, and seafood. They also have an ice cream stand outside. The line was long but went quickly.

So I found this store on TikTok but it was for the Orlando location. After doing some research, I found out there was a Jax location which I was excited to visit. My parents and I went the day before Christmas Eve, so it was packed. I couldn't believe I had not known about this place as I had driven by it so many times. When you walk in, you are hit with an array of fresh produce and wow! Everything in the store in perfectly in order from apples to dragonfruit to a variety of fresh herbs and veggies. They have a great selection of a lot of great local produce and fresh meats. My dad went crazy and was in the zone in the store. The prices here are something you can't beat! One thing I was excited for was the peppered turkey bacon which thankfully was in stock. For the amount we spent here, it would've been at least double or more at Publix. Once we checked out, we went to the walk up window for a nice frozen treat. I got the waffle bowl soft serve ice cream with sprinkles and Oreos. My dad got the strawberry cup, which came with soft serve ice cream, fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. The portion size was huge. The bowls are definitely shareable. The menu also had turkey legs and all beef hot dogs. I look forward to our next trip to stock up again on fresh produce and cuts of meat.

Out with friends and one said "can we stop here""?"....sure! It was busy and when you walk in you go right to produce or left to meats and limited dairy. I thought most of the produce prices were good. Eggs were higher than Aldi's and cheese around the same as other grocery stores BUT the big difference was checking out! OMG one has to stand in a line of about 30 people as we weave around to get to the 5/6 cashier! There were 10 or so registers just sitting there with no staff! This was a Thursday around 2:30 pm. They claim all this better quality but the check out would affect me coming back!

Love love love Freshfield Farm. Not sure why it took me so long to get here! Wonderful selection and prices. Large variety of fresh produce at low prices, and a huge variety of meats and fish. Chuck roast was 6.99 per pound instead of $10.20 per pound like Publix. Pork, beef, turkey, chicken, fish (including whole fish), as well as tons of fresh fruit (including pink pineapples) and vegetables. A few prepackaged offerings like vegetable slaw at half the price of the major grocery stores. Will plan to stock up next time and freeze some. Will be back.

Shoutout to our local community heroes- farmers and their families, workers and staff

Shoutout to all the local community heroes that keep this venue thriving! Farmers, their families, the workers, staff, and patrons! This venue is so cool! Not only did it have amazing fresh quality produce, meat, eggs, etc... but it also had an outside service area that served refreshing ice cream, turkey legs, and hotdogs! This was like an amusement park for foodies. I had to control myself and not buy like I was never going to be able to come back. The last thing I want to do is waste fruit and veggies because I got greedy. But I am not exaggerating about the eye candy in this place! I have never seen such high quality and quantity of items like fresh ginger, tumeric, green onions, mangoes, and even tamales!!! There's so many varieties of potatoes, apples, oranges, mangoes, and more. The meat is butcher quality and decently priced! The cuts are gorgeous! And eggs are of great supply too. I loved seeing all the different cultures from youngsters to elders sitting together eating treats at the front table area!!! So many smiling faces!!! Love the whole atmosphere!

Another great shopping experience at Freshfields Farm in Jax and the first trip to begin the new year! Fruits, vegetables and meats are fresh and affordable prices. The interior is large and spacious. Great organization of the various fruits and vegetables to choose from. Excellent customer service from the entire store staff. Shoutout to my cashier Zharia for being friendly and professional. Look forward to my next shopping visit for more fresh foods!

Ask the Community - Freshfield Farm

    Are the animals pastured rasied?

Not all. Packages and signage indicate which.

    Do they sell Keurig K-Pods?

No. But you can get the best produce and meats in Jax here. Everything they sell is whole food. Good luck!

I would like to know what breed of hens lay the jumbo-double yolked Brown eggs? I don't live near a Freshfields Farm store,(cocoa,fl).Id love to know exactly what hen lays…

Either Rhode Island Reds or Red Stars. Double yolks aren't typical, though. It's the equivalent of a woman having twins. It definitely happens, but there isn't a breed that lays only double yolked eggs. Hope this helps

Do they have honey? Fresh, local honey?

Yes it's pricy and I would buy mine from north Fl. Apiarieres

I craved crystal tea and I knew the brand name which is Prince of Peace. Just a side bar, please know what you are looking in an Asian store. Everything was nicely stocked and appealing but I could not tell A from Z. I finally asked the manager or the cashier where to find crystal teas. There was not a big selection. Hell, there was only one selection. I grabbed my ginger honey Crystal tea to go. In the package, there are 10 sachets for just under $3! What a bargain! I proceeded to the register and asked if there were other selections. She was curt and to the point, "whatever we have there." She was pleasant but not to the point of being rude. I got my tea. Will I give up coffee? Maybe for a week or two or until I get a coffee headache . To me, this is one of the few Asian stores for my crystal tea. I am sure crystal tea can be brought on line but I am an old school kinda guy who likes going up and down the aisle to literally.

Gordon's is similar but weaker by my opinion in some regards. However, it does have strengths which make it worth a visit. For non-restaurant folks, the biggest draw likely will be the frozen food section which includes a vast variety of frozen seafood and meat to cook and also ready-prepared dishes ranging from mashed taters to whole cakes. Remember, this is restaurant supply, so whole cakes and cheesecakes (which when sliced likely are passed off at many a restaurant as "our chef's own creation" by drizzling some caramel sauce across them). For those who don't know, cheesecakes especially freeze *just fine* and thaw out *just fine* and a frozen one of quality can be just as good as a made-from-scratch one. There were frozen dishes like stuffed bell peppers which interested me but again, restaurant portions so I didn't need like a flat of 20 stuffed peppers and didn't buy them. If I had a half-empty chest freezer and less restraint however I'd easily have scooped up all kinds of stuff like this. Some items are name brands, some their own Gordon brand, some brands I'd not heard of but may be big in food service--I don't know. Beyond the frozen goods, they have things like large quanities of BBQ sauce, tomato paste, and pasta--again, aimed at restaurants. They also have a lot of Monin coffee syrups which is very cool though their prices are a few dollars more than TJ Maxx but the catch is, you never know which Monin syrups any given TJ Maxx will have any given day but here their stock seems stable. While they have all manner of disposable catering goods (foil trays, plastic to-go boxes) they don't have much if any durable table service like restaurant glasses and cups. Nor any kitchen knives it seems. The store in Charleston I mentioned had a great selection of these things so that was disappointing. Service was fine. I didn't need help, my friend has shopped here before and guided me around. The lady at check-out was friendly enough. I'd recommend visiting Gordon's and seeing what they have: look carefully, *a lot* is packed in there, especially the frozen section. If you have a large family and a chest freezer (or two or three) you probably can play your cards right and really save money here.

We've tried a couple of the local shops over the years and were mostly turned off. But recently, when we got a hankering for some homemade curries, marinades, stir fries, and such, we went on the hunt for something better and finally stumbled on Dinosaur. They aren't really "supermarket" huge, but far larger then the shops we've tried in the area. Plenty of shelf staples from a variety of cuisines, at decent prices. And a good selection of meats and produce that you won't find in the Winn-Dixies, Publixes, or Whole Foods in the area, and you can't simply order shipped from Amazon. As a "foody tourist" in a shop like this, I'm not entirely self sufficient. I can tell my galangal from my ginger, and my choy sum from my bok choy, but I still get lost trying to find or identify some things. The shopkeeper there keeps busy managing her store, and I don't expect her to play "tour guide," but she does try to be helpful and work past the language barrier when I come up with questions. The place is clean and pretty well organized considering the wide variety of foods and countries that are represented. A gold mine of exotic foods we can't find anywhere else.
