I have given a good review in the past but must say I was a bit dissatisfied with my last visit. I…read moreunderstand the Law in Texas over asking for a ID when buying cigarettes, however, I don't believe everyone understands exactly what the Texas ID law states. If any retailer is to post the 21 ID law in their window, it is important that proper training is done so that employees can understand what that law means, why the Law was made, and how to accurately utilize it. This law is clear and needs to be used as clearly as it states, or, it should be revised according to store RULE, in which case would have to be posted clearly as their own, not TEXAS LAW. I only say this because I am in my 50s, and had walked a long , extremely hot , long way to purchase cigarettes. In my rush, I had forgotten my ID wallet, and failed to purchase cigarettes due to no ID. Clearly I look close to my age, flattered, i was shown no sympathy for my red face or clothes that were drenched from sweat. I spoke with both associate and his superior, still, I was still denied the right to purchase. In a way of displaying some sort of fear, I was told that in doing a sale with me with no ID, the employee's would be automatically terminated. If this be the case, I feel it be best to clarify this Texas law in which one must be 21 to purchase cigarettes with a valid ID.This Law which was created to prevent those UNDER AGE from buying cigarettes, ETC. No where does this law state that ALL adults must show a ID. This Texas Law even has some exceptions to those under the age of 21 with proper ID. I am certain that this Law has not been read thoroughly and is not understood , so , I will only share where this law does NOT apply to the older individuals as myself. The managers however can do a manager's job to better explain the entire 21 ID Texas Law , this way there will be no need for a customer to have to write such aa educational review. IF, HOWEVER, I HAVE MISSED something, anything, do feel free to respond. I feel it is important for business, every business, to understand a law in which that business is enforcing, ESPECIALLY when someone went out of their way to WALK in TEXAS heat, to your very store. ( not to the store which was closest and apparently understands this LAW ;) ) As the LAW States: Retailers must ask for ID from any person that APPEARS to be UNDER 30 years old, and verify the person is 21 years of age or older by examing a valid proof of ID. Note: Follow the Texas requirement of Under 30 . Have a good day, stay cool.

Retraining your employees is needed! Went to buy a bottle of wine but did not have my ID on me…read more While I truly appreciate the compliment, at 50+ years of age, I think it is pretty obvious I am of legal age. A little out of me way but a better bottle of wine was bought at the QT down the road whose employee had the good sense to see the obvious.
