Fish and Fish & Chips
Hailey M.

Kind people work here! It gets packed but our wait which was told to be 20 mins took only 10. The food is delicious. We had their fish and chips and shepherds pie. Kiddo has chicken tenders. The green beans with the fish are magic. It's so light and flaky and their tartar is so good. Go here. We can't wait til their Holly springs location opens since it's 15 mins closer to us!

The fish and chips

A great Irish pub for a mid afternoon meal on Sunday . My wife, grandson and myself, while enjoying the spinach artichoke appetizer. My wife and grandson ordered the fish and chips, I ordered the shepherds pie. The Shepard pie is so good I rarely order anything else. Sunday the panthers are playing in the big screen. Unfortunately they are not as good as the fish and Shepard pie. Friendly quick service in a short bday. The hot was all served warm and appealing. We always enjoyed Doherty's and will be back again.

Fish Potato Leek Soup (Cup) Fish & Chips (Half)

Went for St Patty's Day. To order food for just one person it was apparently over 2 hour wait. Sat outside so I could get faster service there was only one heater working. A gentleman at a at another table ended up getting the heater working, not even the staff offered to help get it to work. The man got it to work probably an hour into dining so it was pretty cold out. Ended up getting the fish and chips which was mainly just a flaky coating on top of the thin slice of fish. It was very greasy. The fries are mediocre At best. The potato leek soup was actually good and so were the greenbeans. The waitress was very nice and considering how busy it was, she did a pretty good job at keeping up with the tables. Don't think I'd go back for anything specific, maybe I should have tried the corned beef or bangers and mash?

Having been a fan of the Cary location for years, this was my first visit to the Apex location and I found it wonderfully low-key and less crowded. I ordered my usual fish and chips, adding a side of coleslaw this time--a fantastic pairing! I highly recommend going for the full order of fish; you won't be disappointed. The Guinness on tap was fantastic, and the customer service was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here!

Potato Leek Soup

I've gotten the potato and leek soup quite a few times and it's always been a wonderful experience along with the friendly service. Tonight I ordered two potato leek soups but they did not come with cheese or bacon for either of them. I'm used to them coming in a separate container but assumed they had just chosen to add it into but it was not included and I did not discover this until I had returned home.

The boxtie sampler, not a bad one in the bunch!

This place turned out to be a great late-dining surprise! We had just attended the Lantern Festival in Cary, in that time between Christmas and New Years. We needed somewhere to eat before heading back to Greensboro. Yelp discovered this pub, and the menu looked interesting! It was after 9pm and we were a little concerned at first because we didn't see a host or a waiter for a bit. Thankfully an upbeat waitress did eventually appear, seat us, got us drinks, and the whole thing went swimmingly from there. She really turned things around. We ordered the brisket Poutine and the Boxty sampler as apps. They were both good, I wish we could have had even more of their super flavorful gravy. The brisket was tender, which honestly given that it was the end of the day I found very impressive. The Boxties were awesome, it had been several years since I last had a boxtie of any kind. For dinner, me and my wife split a seasonal sandwich, a turkey bacon avocado thing of a sort. It was real good, but our friends sandwich featuring more of that slow cooked brisket and corned beef was the winner. Can't remember the exact name of it, but it was highlighted on the menu as a house specialty. Overall, very impressed that a skeleton staff at a later time where the crowd was just mostly having drinks delivered a quality meal to us. Honestly, the pictures aren't super flattering, tasted way better than it looked!

My friend has been wanting to try this restaurant. I was down to join her because I love a good fish and chips. Service was prompt as we entered the restaurant. We were seated and given menus to look over. I, of course orders the fish and chips with a side of haricots. The fish and chips were good. The highlight of the meal for me was the haricots. They were tasty and crisp. Definitely a menu item that I would order here again.

Irish Egg Rolls

Hubby and I along with his brother stopped in for a couple beers and appetizers while we waited on our sister-in-law to meet us after work. We were seated immediately and looked over the drink menu. I decided on a Guinness while they both chose Smithwicks. We did a second round and also ordered Buffalo boneless wings and the Irish egg rolls. The beer was great! Guinness is my absolute favorite and they know how to pour a proper pint. The Irish egg rolls were excellent. Crispy on the outside, filled with lots of corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. Their thousand island dressing was yummy. The buffalo boneless wings were very good. Classic Buffalo flavor, sauced well, juicy chicken. Amazing blue cheese as well. Our server was attentive and friendly. The ambience felt very classic Irish pub. Great spot for beer and appetizers. We would definitely give them a try for dinner next time!

Wings

Tried this location for the first time from many I follow on Yelp. This place is busy as all and the staff was so nice and friendly. I ordered a six piece order of wings plain as I don't like spicy sauces etc. The wings were good size and cooked well. This came with carrots and celery and a side of blue cheese. I enjoyed my meal and would return.

Roughly a year ago, they remodeled the dining area, so it is much nicer than before. The servers tend to be long time employees, each with their distinct personalities that they don't mind sharing. We like them all, and it sure beats dealing with sullen teenagers at many places. The wings themselves are very good. There are a large number of sauces and dry rubs to choose from, with heat ranging from nothing to habanero. There are sweet and savory options as well. My wife prefers the boneless wings, which actually are large pieces of cut-up chicken breast. In addition, the menu includes other sandwiches and sides. The menu is worth a look. They have a number of beers on tap and some cans/bottles, as well as a full bar. So, everyone in your party is likely to find something they want to eat (except, perhaps, vegans...). We generally get wings, boneless wings, side salads, potato wedges, and/or cole slaw. Their iced tea is excellent. Enjoy!

They have a big list of flavors, including some unique ones like their sweet tea BBQ, and the staff is friendly and easy to talk to. My food usually comes out surprisingly fast, even with a decent crowd, which is a nice bonus. The atmosphere is casual dive bar-ish but it fits the vibe of the place. It's easy to get to, and there's plenty of parking at night, so it's a simple stop when you're craving wings without any hassle

I visited here recently with family. We were looking for a tasty lunch on a Saturday afternoon and…read morethey definitely delivered! The restaurant is large and spacious, and wasn't too busy when we arrived. We were seated quickly and had some tasty local beers in our hands soon enough. We all ordered burgers, which were HUGE and delicious. I got the mushroom swiss and it was perfectly cooked! The bun was a little mushy but I blame that on the incredibly juicy burger - nom nom. Service was super friendly, too. And the prices were incredibly reasonable. Adding this to my list on a future trip, as there were a lot of yummy-sounding options on their menu!

Their menu has changed, so don't go by anything you see on the website or anywhere else. Seriously, update your menus on all platforms . Burgers are still the same. I love a burger that is cooked the way you ask for it to be! And all the great topping choices you have for the burgers are really yummy. Hard to decide. The fried ribs, a new menu item were absolutely delicious. Three of my friends had those, and they all were licking their fingers. A couple of people had the chicken sandwich and cleaned the plate. Several people had burgers and everybody loved them. I had the braised short rib French dip. The meat was wonderful. Could've used some cheese and caramelized onions on it, to make it perfect. But very solid sandwich. I would have loved to have gotten the Asian meatball appetizer. Those were terrific. Our waiter was Landon. Very attentive, very nice and very efficient. Hope to see him the next time I come. I will definitely come back soon for those ribs.!! Honestly, the only bad thing for me anyway, was the waffle fries. I love, sweet potato fries, not a fan of waffle fries, and over salted. I think the shoestring, sweet potato fries are way better. And speaking of fries, what, no more garlic Parmesan french fries. That's a sin. Those are the best fries ever !! you need to put those back on your menu.!! forever!! Anyway, we had a great time , food was tremendous , Landon was special. Be back soon. Thanks

The menu has a good selection of breakfast items and sandwiches (I believe these can be ordered all day). They also have a menu of seasonal items and craft cocktails/mocktails/mimosas/etc. We got the Supreme Omelette, Seasonal Steak Hash with Eggs Benedict, and the Gluten Free Pancakes. The hot sauce that Another Broken Egg Cafe provides is a bit too sweet and needs more heat. I was looking at the ingredients on it and there was a lot of added sugar which I don't think hot sauce needs. Having another option would be nice. The Supreme Omelette was standard, it was very cheesey and had a good amount of meat in it. The biscuit was pretty dry and left some to be desired. The Seasonal Steak Hash with eggs was good but a tad bit heavy on the sauce. The GF pancakes were surprisingly good for being GF (they still had that saw dust taste notes). Overall a pretty good experience. It's fairly clean inside and the bathrooms are clean as well. There's a lot of room in between the booths and seatings so no complaints.
