Still holds the crown as one of the best wing places in the area & one of our favorites. It's a no frills sports bar atmosphere where the food is very good and there's plenty of beers (& other beverages) to choose from. Service is consistent and attentive as always. The wings are the star of the show as always...perfectly fried and perfectly seasoned!

Always ordered Apex wings for their wings; pretty good; however, not sure what happened this time around. The wings come with celery- looked old with spots of brownish/yellow; my son immediately spit it out. Tried their veggie quesadilla and was very very disappointed. It was super greasy, lettuce looked old- brownish/yellow. Ended up having to throw out the quesadilla plate- wasted money. If I go back, will have to stick solely with their wings. Hope they can fix this!

Best wings I've had since I've moved to NC! The wings were crispy, good amount of sauce. The wings were great sizes. The ultimate Nacho lived up to its name! A must get for an appetizer. Also, our server is the nicest and very knowledgeable of the food! They play nice tunes and the tv are tuned to good entertainment. I couldn't try the beers since I'm pregnant. If you are craving wings, it's a must place.

Apex Wings has really gone down hill. I ordered a dozen wings with ranch dressing & extra celery to go. At $21+, the price is comparatively pretty steep. When I picked them up, I asked if the extra celery was in there? They have shorted me in the past. The waitress confirmed it was in the bag. When I got home, the extra celery was not in the bag. Neither was the ranch dressing. They used to include a slice of Texas cheese toast as well. It was absent too. The wings were VERY well done. Not in a good way. Dry and tough. I'll be getting wings elsewhere in the future.

One of of our go to place for wings! Quick service, delicious wings, nice servers. We live in Wake Forest but we drive all the way to Apex to eat their wings. LOCATION: It's located in the back corner of shopping area but you can't really see it from the road. It's a small place but nice and it's a pub but it's family friendly. You can pick where you want to sit: at the bar, the tables near the bar, the inside booths or outside and then a waitress will come to take your order. FOOD: They serve bone-in and boneless wings, quesadillas, salads and soups, sandwiches, wraps, corn dog, burgers, and a lot more. We go there for the wings so we each order the 6 wings + 1 size. I get the boneless naked with chipotle bbq sauce on the side and fries (their beer battered fries are amazing! Specially if you dip it in the chipotle bbq sauce! Yum). My husband orders the bone-in wings with mild sauce and wedges. They also give you some celery and ranch with it. If you order the wings without the combo it will come with a toast. You can also add a toast to your meal for $1 I guess.

The good... Service was great. Extremely friendly, attentive and personable. True local spot. Surprisingly good drink specials. That's where it ends for me unfortunately. The food is just basic. Nothing about their wings (boneless or regular) are remotely close to being award winning or best wings I've ever had. Reminded me of Pizza Hut wings. I also had a chicken cheesesteak. It was a chicken breast that was cubed with a slice of cheese. If you want a quick wing fix with a wide selection of sauces - check it out.

This is probably the best wing joint in the triangle, and when I mention it to other wing enthusiasts they almost universally agree!

These things are otherworldly -- melt-in-your-mouth tender with that crisp, caramelized, candy-coated exterior that should honestly be illegal. I happily make the 90-minute drive from Moore County because this BBQ is that good. The chicken? Juicy. The brisket? Fantastic. But the burnt ends? Those are the reason I'm blocking off my schedule and grabbing my keys like I've got somewhere holy to be. The fries were perfectly cooked (crispy but not trying too hard), and their spin on potato salad was surprisingly delicious -- they smoke the potatoes, and somehow that makes the whole thing taste like comfort food's cooler, more interesting cousin. If you're thinking about going... go. Just don't expect me to share my burnt ends. I meant what I said.

The only real downside was they were already out of pork BBQ, which I'm guessing is their main item and they just ran out for the day. The burnt ends were incredible though, literally fell apart in your mouth. Service was good and they have really nice indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend the potato salad and the fried brussel sprouts, the sprouts had this perfect mix of sriracha and honey that was so good. It is a bit pricey for lunch but that's kind of expected with BBQ these days. Definitely will be back.

After opening the Yelp app, looking at reviews and pictures, we decided to give Scratch Kitchen & Taproom and go. NARRATIVE: Due to construction in the parking lot behind Scratch Kitchen (Temple Street), we ended up entering the restaurant from the N. Salem Street. And before going in, I noticed the signage above the building says; Tobacco & Mule Exchange. I'm not sure of the buildings history but the buildings interior has a story. Entering from the Salem Street side, you'll pass several shops and a unique bar / barber shop and Scratch Kitchen is located at the end of the hallway on the left. When we arrived at the podium, just outside the restaurant, we were promptly greeted and seated and within the minute, our server and his "shadow" server greeted us and introduced themselves. And after going over the menu and special meals for the day, our drink orders were taken. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Sushi Round as our appetizer; "Spicy ahi tuna with avocado, cucumber and wake over a seared sushi rice patty with edamame and fried green tomato. Topped with wasabi-miso crema and mirin-soy glaze." It was presented and tasted just as good as it sounds. For the main dish, I had to get the Shrimp & Grits; "Cheddar stone ground grits with seared shrimp and pork belly, peppers, onions and a creamy gochugaru sauce. Topped with green onions." And as you can see by not only my photos but others on Yelp, it was an amazing choice and amazing meal. I don't recall what my daughter had as her main but she said it was really good. SCENE: Scratch Kitchen & Taproom is located in the downtown area of Apex. Parking, especially when city workers are doing construction in the rear lot (Temple Street) can be a challenge. I also noted a man, who had too much to drink did order and get a ride from either an Uber or Lyft which is great if you don't want to drive or worry about parking. RECOMMENDATION(S): Scratch Kitchen is quant with that small town feel. Service from the staff was top notch and genuine and could be felt during our interacts with them. The food and its presentation were exemplary so yes, I'll highly recommend a visit. I know I'll be back.

We were seated right away, and the customer service set the tone from the start. Our server was warm, attentive, and especially great at explaining how the dim sum works here. She did not just tell us; she actually demonstrated it, shared cooking tips, and made us feel completely comfortable jumping in. She checked on us often, and the rest of the staff was also wonderfully attentive without being overbearing. The food came out quickly. One of the best parts of the meal was being able to order steak, chicken, shrimp, and lots of vegetables, then cook everything just the way we liked it. It made the meal feel interactive, fun, and special. For my daughter and me, it was not just dinner -- it was an experience we got to create together. A heads-up for first-timers: there is a two-hour table limit since it is all-you-can-eat, and they do charge a fee for excessive waste. As long as you are reasonable and order what you can realistically eat, you should be totally fine. $39 per person. Thanks to Five Spice for a memorable mother-daughter experience.
