Rudy's is easily the most consistent sports bar and restaurant in Apex. The staff is always friendly, there's a steady flow of customers, and even during peak hours the team hustles to make sure everyone is taken care of. They are accommodating, attentive, and genuinely seem to care about the customer experience. The food is consistently good. Their burgers and wraps are among the best in the area, and the fish and chips are excellent. I recently had a friend visiting who is gluten-free, and I was impressed by how many options Rudy's offered and how willing they were to accommodate special requests. It was a great reminder that they do a lot more than typical sports bar fare. Beyond the food, Rudy's does a great job supporting the community with kids' nights, trivia, and other events that bring people together. As someone who has lived in Apex for more than 10 years, I'd consider Rudy's a local staple at this point. That's why it's disappointing to see people criticize a locally owned establishment over things like a delayed takeout order or not being provided a brunch menu. The locals know why Rudy's has been successful for so long. Arrived on past Sunday around 1:00, we're recalling seeing a Sunday brunch option on a prior evening visit. Assortment of menus given did not include brunch. So, we assumed we had confused with another restaurant that offered brunch. So, very soon after ordering, (less than 1 minute), my wife asked a nice lady bussing the table next to us about brunch. She, of course, said yes, until 2:00. We told her we just ordered but didn't get a brunch menu, but that's why we were there. So she instantly saw our waitress (Sarah L.) and asked if we could cancel the order and order brunch. Her immediate response was "no, already placed the order". Sorry. Didn't even try. 12-15 minutes later our food arrived and we ate, but left disgusted, disappointed, and vowed not to return. But, we have enjoyed eating at Rudy's. We felt the waitress handled our request very flippantly and nonchalantly. But we'll probably be back anyway. read more

This was my local place that I would frequent 2-3 times a month when I lived locally. I decided to stop by during a recent trip to the area. I noticed some changes to the menu and new faces in the restaurant. We ordered an appetizer and a variety of new and classic menu items. The food was great. It was delicious and flavorful. Only issue was the Steak and fries doesn't remotely live up the hype as described in the menu. I ordered it medium and, as you can see in the picture, it came out well with no "garlic butter" and pretty dry. My server was amazing. She constantly came by to make sure we had our drinks and didn't need anything. She honestly is the reason I gave the place a 4 (If I could her a score, it would be a 10)!. Ask for Avery W . She's awesome. Side note: This place gets noisy and packed. It's a sports bar It's the norm for a hometown pub/bar. You will probably wait a little longer than normal during peak times. I will say, they have one of the best burgers in Apex. Perfect thickness, flavor, and bun. In an age of food fears, they will even allow you to chose how well-done you want your burger. If rare is your thing....come here. The fries are these unusual Cresent cuts which have a thick end and a crispy end. I really liked them. Why the loss of a star? The Cobb salad. The fried tenders were amazing but the rest of the salad was extremely lack-luster. It's like these burger boys hate salad. Cobb should have tomato, egg, avocado, bacon, blue cheese. Mine had 1/2 an egg, a top of bacon, a small amount of tomato, and 1/2 cup of blue cheese crumbles. I will probably try another salad and hope this one was just made by a carnivore with a hate towards veggies. read more

First time visiting. Why did it take us so long to find this gem ? Margaritas were top notch. We started with the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread App. Very good and not too spicy. Hubby and I split the Reuben. It was a BIG Reuben. One of the best I have had in this area. Their fries are kinda unique. Very good. Not greasy. Hubby kinda hogged most of them. We gotta go back so I can get more fries !!! During this crazy time of COVID, all employees wore masks and we entered with masks on. As soon as we were seated we quickly took our masks off. Extensive tap menu, recommend picking a beer with a great name- which I did and it come timely. Was IPA-ish, and was smooth. Had chicken and waffles which came with both gravy and syrup- overall, an out standing dish. only negative is the the coating peeled off the chicken too easily. Would order again. The shrimp and grits had a generous portion, grits had a light cheese flavor not over powering. Tasted better than Lulu's in North Myrtle Beach, and almost as good as Blueberry Cafe. Great place for a bite to eat! We picked up takeout for dinner from here on a weeknight. I ordered ahead and the order was ready on time. It was accurate and everything tasted as expected. We chose the Asian Tuna Salad, Smothered Chicken, Half Pile O' Cheese, and Pickle Chips. Upon seeing the fries, I should have selected the full order. They were cooked perfectly and covered in cheese. The salad was large and made with fresh ingredients. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would recommend this restaurant to others! read more

Went to eat with my wife on a Monday morning. First off, Matt, the bartender/server was hands down AMAZING!! he was attentive, helpful, and fast! The food came out pretty quickly. We both ordered the steak and fries. The description on the menu sold us "Marinated sirloin grilled and finished with garlic butter served with our signature fries and a side salad." the caesar was good and the fries were delicious....but that STEAK. We both ordered our steaks medium and they came out almost well done. We were so hungry that we didn't send it back. When I tell you that this steak was bland!?!? Yikes!! What happened to the butter garlic finish? It needed a sauce, BAD! I explained my concerns to Matt, who did his very best to help, bringing A1 and Heinz 57 to the table. There was no saving it. As a chef, I take quality very seriously, as well as being careful not to mislead clients with whimsical Menu descriptions. The worst part was it was about $17.00 a plate! Several gluten free items on the menu and they're all marked! Our waitress said that the chef is gluten free. That is very cool beans for me since we just moved to Apex. I had Blackened Salmon over salad. This salad was originally with Tuna and not gluten free but I switched dressing and took off Wonton chips. I loved the shaved cabbage and the way the salad was presented. My husband had Rudy's dip which was shaved beef with with provolone, horseradish mayo on toasted ciabatta. It was pretty good. I have been going to Rudy's for 10+ years now and the food gets better and better every time I go. Last night I went out for a quick bite with my mom. My mom frequents Rudy's a lot because of their charity poker games, so as soon as we walked in, the staff was super friendly and sat us right away. My mom is a low key celebrity, what can I say?! I ordered their crispy haddock fish tacos and mom got the steak salad, rare. The steak was cooked perfectly and the salad was dressed just enough where it wasn't soaked. My fish tacos were BOMB. The fish was crispy, the toritillas were grilled just enough where they had texture, but didn't fall apart, and the chipotle slaw paired with the pico was the perfect accompaniment to the fish. Other items I typically order: Fish and Chips, Asian Tuna Salad, Wings (any flavor is fantastic), and the Pretzel Bites will make you second guess any pretzel you've ever eaten. I am giving this place two stars only because I haven't given it a second chance. I did read the reviews and wonder how anyone would rate the restaurant three and a half or four stars. I went to there at lunch and noticed a half full establishment and wondered why. I did order a water with lemon that only took ten minutes then ordered lunch of a bowl of chili and half grilled cheese, one of the menus specials. Thirty minutes last the lunch special arrived. This is by far me and hubby's favorite Apex bar/restaurant. Everything is soo good and you can really tell it's home made. The wraps and salads are my favorite. The lettuce is always fresh which is not really a given at a bar. I also really like their brunch, it's very reasonably priced and has a large selection of items. In Apex visiting family. Treated them to Rudy's for dinner. My husband loves prime rib dip so he had that. The kids ate off the kid's menu , a good price that included drink, main, side, and ice cream. One got the sliders, the other got grilled cheese and it was a thick sandwich. This is the third Monday I have walked into the bar and am promptly told they are out of Fireball. Yep, three times. This is a BAR and grill. If you are in the bar business and have Fireball in your inventory, then keep it IN STOCK. If you had a busy weekend, why does this have to effect me? Didn't really do a thorough background check on this place before going in. We were at Kwench and was pretty hungry so we said let's try this place. I'm glad we did because it was great and it was empty obviously being a sports bar and we went around 2pm. So we were able to get a nice booty it was very mellow in there and we had some of the best pretzels I have ever had. I believe they cut the pretzels so they have a flat side and then get them in a pan with butter so that flat side gets crispy and mmm delicious. I was upset we only ordered one plate and if they ever have like a half off apps I'm getting at least 4 of those 2 for them and 2 to take home. We also ordered some wraps from them and those were really good as well. We didn't expect to like this place so much but I can for sure see us making a nice trip to apex for some Kwench juice/ shakes and Rudy's for a nice app and wrap/sandwich on a nice day. read more

I'm writing a very honest review, as someone that lives about a mile from this location and have visited at least 20 times. Sadly, I live super close to this location and despite numerous terrible experiences with very incompetent staff... I continue to come back. The taste of the food is pretty good for the suburbs but I have only had a good experience a few times. Today I tried to make things "easier" for them by placing my order online 4 hours early since calling in an order often confuses them (75% of orders I've called in were incorrect or incomplete). 4 hours seems like plenty of time to get an order together for three people (wings, pickle chips, tots). This apparently wasn't the case though as when I arrived just slightly past 4:15 (the time I said I would pick up my food) they were like "oh, we don't have an online order..." I showed them my order confirmation and then the hostess went to ask someone for help who pulled up a page of 4 or so orders that hadn't been filled. To make matters worse, I walked in and stood at the hostess stand (nobody in front of me). Then two teen girls that apparently knew the hostess came in to the stand and stood beside me and of course they got helped first (despite me walking in and already being there first) and got their order handed to them. It's like I was invisible until after they were done fraternizing. I'd like to clarify before I continue that every in house experience has been satisfactory (food at a reasonable time, drink refills slow but not forgotten, accurate orders delivered). But this service is outrageous. I could honestly say, based on at least 15 bad experiences with called in orders/online orders that if Apex had more decent restaurant offerings this place would not still be opened. If this was downtown Raleigh (where I'd been for 8 years prior to moving to Apex) they would have gone out of business a very long time ago. Though I have few positive experiences with this place, until Apex gets more options I'll probably continue to come back here. read more

Took my nieces and nephew here today . I seen online there would a magician. They loved it ! The magician was great with kids and they were sooo excited . They said it was the best restaurant ever ! The kids grilled cheese was a hit !! They all loved it my niece said it was the best grilled cheese she ever had . The kids mini burgers not so much . They loved the sprinkle vanilla ice cream . I had the Dallas burger it was very good as well the bun is very soft . The service was excellent! She was very friendly! Everyone spoke to us when we walked in and out !
